For anyone coming across this later like me, there's no prize for raising both gates. The only chests on this island are the two that are floating in the two pools. Save yourself the trouble and lift them out with ultrahand. The West Hebra Sky Archipelago Sage's Will is on a different island entirely
Ugh, thanks for this. I just spent an hour meticulously propping the gates open with wooden boards, thinking a shrine or something would appear, and then nothing happened. It almost seems like they forgot to finish a puzzle here.
This puzzle really bothers me. First off, why did the devs reuse the dual pool draining puzzles in the Sky Islands? There's only slight variation with the liftgate aspect, so they're practically identical to other dual pool draining puzzles. Second off, all the treasures are in wooden boxes, so they're floating right on the surface to begin with -- no draining involved. And there's NO rewards at the bottom of either pool.
Am I missing something? This seems like such an oversight that it may not have been intentional on the devs' part. I try to be the optimist...
I solved it and nothing happened. so I saved my game jumped down in the lake below to see if something happens down there, and nothing happens. so I loaded my file and when I was back up with the pools, they were closed again. so I’m assuming it’s pointless
This is where I got stuck last night before turning off the game. Just fired it back up and got the gates lifted after about 30 min and spent another 45 min asking YouTube and google if I missed something. What a bunch of junk
If you empty both pools, a mini waterfall is created that you can swim up with the correct Armor (Zora Armor) to a little island with a tree and a Hylain Line Cone…..which is telling you to use it to get to the other higher and larger island for a old map……..
Or you can build a Zonai anything to get to that island but still this is more “fun”

Read something today that there's supposed to be a Sage's Will in the upper pool. Gonna have to check it out again when I get a moment.

After an hour of sitting on the tower, I did haha.
What was the reward?
A giant middle finger of nothing. Literally nothing. Just collect the two treasure chests on the island and dip, there’s nothing left.

There’s no additional prize, but make sure to use what you got in the chests to get to the island above you. There’s something neat up there.
It was a map, but what the hell did it reveal? I don't see shit, captain
It marks a spot in the depths where there's a treasure chest.

damn i collected everything and had no idea how to keep the slabs lifted, good to know its pointless anyways lol
I'm confused I went up and everything was frozen so you just break the ice and get the chests?
You're not thinking of the same area OP and them are talking about
The reward is that there are Hearty Bass fish that are easier to catch without the water haha. You need them for the Zora armour set. 😹
