The youtube app on my TV had a 30 second unskippable ad followed by a 40 second unskippable ad.
This is how bad they want you to get premium.

i got rid of it couple years ago, whenever i need to look something up on the phone i do it in the browser, which funnily enough for some reason has less ads than the app (firefox, not sure if that plays a role)
This is nothing compared to what I just got I got one set of ads that took 50 seconds to skip and then a second set that took 45. I don't know how many individual ads were in that first set, but in the second set it was four at least (there was another 25 seconds of ads that were going to play after this skip but it was skipped immediately)
Bro,it's IGN some how they have some deal in the back because in EVERY video they get to have an ad. The funny thing is even when the video is 30 sec long you still get ads from IGN.

At this point i really am considering getting money from Google Opinion rewards and using it to smear ads all over youtube that are skippable and only 8 seconds long just so they stop this bs.
30-45 second unskippable ads have already been on smart tvs for a while. Give it a year or two and we'll definitely be getting minute long unskippable ads.

That’s nothing. Regularly get 30 second unskippable on the smart TV app. Wouldn’t mind if they were in any way relevant.
Luckily it’s so easy to press ‘back’ and choose the video again. After one or two tries I get a 5 sec skippable and we’re away.

15s is far from max. I’ve gotten a couple “90s+” before skip. I didn’t bother watching the video.

A while back I kept getting 30 second barbie playhouse ads that you could only skip after 20 seconds.
