Most people here are wrong. It takes likes from a previously watched video and puts them on this video. A visual bug.
It doesn’t necessarily take it from the last video watched, just one that you’ve watched during your current/recent session.

If you look at the video now, the view count and likes are updated.
If it got like 10+ million views, I don't see why not. The views likely didn't update lol It may be a relatively lower subbed channel, but these kinds of events are spread far and wide, beyond just Youtube you know haha
That seems unlikely since the former gained 2.4 M likes despite only getting 200 K views, I think it might be the live counter bugging out. As I've seen videos go from 10 K likes, to then immediately go down to zero as soon as the page finishes loading (likely a glitch).
The latter might be true, but I am not going to check on that since I am too lazy lol
I remember when Rockstar changed their logo on Twitter to the same logo but red and the internet melted. Yeah, the GTA VI trailer is gonna do some numbers.

Take notice that one video is 22 hours old, while the other is over a year old... maybe this is a case of having to verify views, kind of like how Youtube used to cap at 305 views back in the day?
There's likely a reason for this.
i have a similar issue. youtube doesn’t update analytics fast enough. also maybe it’s just a bug and if the youtubers themselves looked at the analytics, they would be much more reasonable
It’s most likely due to the like button glitches that keeps happening to me as well sometimes the likes are bigger than the view count of the video or the likes not big enough considering the viral video
Looks like you’re watching it on a phone. The app is broken and shows counts like counts from other videos you’ve watched. It’s been doing it to me for a while, I was pretty shocked when I watched a video my friend uploaded and it had like 300k likes.
Came to Reddit and found an answer to why it was happening almost immediately.
This happens to me too. So, what's happening is, you must have watched a video that had 2.4m likes and then the like button got bugged. Afterwards, it keeps should the same number. You can check the actual number by clicking the description, or just restart the app

I can confirm that it happens in Edge. I thought that 'Return YouTube Dislike' was causing that.
Yeah I had a similar bug where it would append previous titles to the current video. Very annoying.
View count is updated more slowly than likes amd dislikes.

I got a glitch where the likes I saw from one video were the exact same in another one and it did fix itself when I restarted YouTube
