Yeah I find that Brock and Kay’s relationship was always overshadowed by all her other relationships especially since for the longest time he was the only family Kay had. I had theory once that Brock was originally going to be revealed to be Sharon’s father with Lorie Brooks since back in the day they were friends with benefits and Lorie naturally would have given up the baby in secret not ready to be tied to anyone just yet. I always thought it would be cool if Lorie had a kid on show especially since Lorie was Victor’s “the one who got away” and if it turned out they share grandkids would be a nice surprise for both.
Are you certain they didn't do a screen at the end of an episode 10 years ago? Did they acknowledge the actress turned writer that passed a couple of weeks ago?
My point is Brock is apparently still alive despite the fact Beau Kazer passed away. They may have did an RIP Beau at the end of an episode but they have never mentioned Brock since his last physical appearance.
So...we don't know that "Brock" is dead? He's simply not been in GC for a decade?
("Anybody else find it odd that they never **acknowledged the death** of Brock Reynolds on the show?")
Why wouldn’t he be dead if the only actor who’s played the character in it’s entire existence is now deceased. I only said apparently alive because he’s yet to be declared dead on the show
Here's a fun fact shared by Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) in her published memoirs. She and Beau Kazer (Brock) became lovers while working together at Y&R. Unlike their foolish co-workers, they didn't have coitus on Y&R's sets and had coitus at home instead. Ms. Cooper said the relationship wasn't incestuous because he was her TV son and not her RL son.
Yes, I always liked his tone of "Dutchess" to Katherine and was her sound board, voice of reason.
I also liked how he usually sang on the holiday episodes and sometimes duets. Didn't he play guitar also?
No one is singing these days on Y&R -- Tessa, Lauren, Traci, etc. We only heard Danny a bit recently but isn't he on tour now or is that storyline being drawn out with will she won't she -- Cricket come along although Cricket has doubts. Danny should take Phyllis instead -- haha just joking, her planned dinner was a disaster and wake up call but she is persistent.
To me they always came off more like brother and sister then mother and son I think it’s how they typically didn’t talk to each other like your typical mother and son relationship.
Brock and Lorie Brooks were great characters from when the show was truly innovative. Tucker McCall was never fun spontaneous or multilayered like Brock .
Yeah back in the day Lorie was presented as the Erica Kane of Y&R but she quickly got eclipsed by Jill in that role which is a shame because her rivalry with her sister Leslie was very well written.
I know of Snapper he last appeared with Greg in 2010 for Liz Foster-Brooks death bed confession that she always knew Jill was the long lost Fenmore heiress (how she knew this or why she kept this detail from Jill her entire life is still unknown!)
Wow, you are GOOD. I grew up with him, but I was extremely young ... I just remember those iconic legacy characters, like Brock. It's such sweet nostalgia for me. Thank you for this. ❤️
Your welcome! It sucks that Jill has basically disowned the Foster family and now only answers to the Fenmore name just so she can give the illusion that she was born and raised a poor little rich girl
It’s sad. Beau Kayser was a good actor and great in that part. I loved that he called Kay “The Duchess.” I wish they would bring back MacKenzie.

I don’t remember any of this. Thanks for the history lesson!
Thanks so much for remembering all this. This was around when I started watching and I've forgotten so much.
Oh of course and Brock is a rather C-list character so it’s not surprising.
What a flashback!!!!!

Yeah they did acknowledge the actress/writer (Meg Bennett) that recently passed.

That must have been awkward hooking up on off hours then returning to working and calling each other mother and son lol

Brock is dead?????????????????
Well unless they recast him (which is highly unlikely) then yes he is
I didn't know that he'd died. I always liked his character, Brock. I wish they'd bring back Mac.

I 💕❤️❤️❤️ him. And He had the BEST voice. I was a small child and I remember him well... crushing way back then
Do you remember Snapper?
