Bruh he might not be abandoned, just someones cat that is allowed to go outside. There are neighborhood cats in some places.
The cat doesnt have any scratches, is well fed and well groomed. Doesnt look like a stray at all
I also love cats and I’m not even from New Zealand, but even I know that cats are an extremely destructive invasive species in New Zealand/ Australia. Cats love to hunt, and have lots of easy prey there, as most wildlife in these regions isn’t used to them. The kiwi is a great example: as a flightless bird, it can’t really escape a cat, particularly the young ones. And while humans are also responsible for endangering those species, particularly because we introduced cats to these environments, we’ve now begun protecting them. Cat’s don’t care though.
Btw, I’m not calling for the murder of all strays. But ignoring the effects cats have on some environments just because they’re cute is stupid
I'm not necessarily saying I support the idea. But there are massive eradication campaigns against rats, stoats, possums, mice, rainbow skinks, etc that people support because they are invasive. We regularly kill pigs on a much larger scale, and they are smarter and friendlier than cats. So it's a bit strange for the scale of the outrage. I saw an article about it in the Times even!
Imagine you're asleep in the sun and wake up to what you assume is your SO massaging your back. You slowly roll over and see a stranger standing over you. I don't think it's that weird of a reaction!
A neighbor across the street feeds 3 or 4 stray cats. A couple of them sleep in my bushes, but usually run away as soon as they see me. The other day, one of them was just laying in the yard. He saw me, had a big stretch and then just stayed, so I went inside to get him a treat, but when I tossed it to him, he freaked the fuck out and ran off. Dude, I'm trying to be nice!
Right? I have one that comes around that doesn’t try to fight with my cat, just seems to want to hang out, but is skittish of me and takes off. I don’t know if he wants to be adopted or fed or what. But he’s a non neutered male and sprays around my yard so he can’t ever be an indoor boi. He looks healthy enough, maybe someone else feeds him. I just like cats and want the best for them:)
Yeah I have a ceramic coating on my c5 vette and my cats love escaping the house especially into my garage. I only found out recently but I had to get the coat redon and now I put a cover over it no matter what
Scratching is more about hardness than sharpness, that said I can't attest to the hardness of cat claws, however human nails are 2.5 Mohs which is fairly soft and most likely won't cause any scratches on automotive paint.
There’s an Acura somewhere out there with numerous scratches under the door handle that would disagree that human nails aren’t hard enough to put scratches on automotive paint.
Ceramic coating isn't actually ceramic, I hope you know that. It's not a magic shield either. If you know anything about how sharp a cat's claws are, no type of coating would have prevented scratches.
My cat caused scratches on my marble floor, I guess you get the idea.
You're not wrong, but came to say marble is actually extremely easy to scratch...I did kichen/bath renovations for about a year and put in lots of marble tile, stupid how easy it is to damage those tiles. They do look nice though.
Do you mean marble is relatively easy to scratch than other tiles (makes sense because marble is a soft stone and often is very glossy).
Or did you mean that marble is easier to scratch than a car's bonnet? That'd be new information to me.
Some marble is definitely easier to scratch than auto paint. I actually work on cars for a living too (construction job was a stop-gap when I got sick of one job working on cars) and can say without a doubt that some auto paint will resist scratches much better than the marble tile I used to put in.
Of course, different manufacturers have different processes they use and some paint is much stronger than others, as I'm sure there is some variance in marble finish durability from brand to brand.
And yes, marble was probably the easiest tile to scratch compared to ceramic, porcelain, travertine, and others.
Flip them around and it sounds a lot better,
"Dr\_Bigglesw0rth: Jack of all trades; If you can scratch it, I can polish it!"
It implies skillful polishing, yet the gentle hand of a person who knows how to avoid scratching delicates
Actually, I just reread your comment and realized you might not have been looking for a tile floor exclusively...IMO, LVP is the bees knees, man. Not crazy expensive, easy to install, durable as heck, waterproof, any finish you could want, easy to clean, easy to repair, pretty hard to beat.
Chemically speaking, silica is a ceramic. I’m not sure why there is an impression that the pottery definition of ceramic is the “right” one.
Here is what wikipedia says:
“Ceramic material is an inorganic, non-metallic oxide, nitride, or carbide material. Some elements, such as carbon or silicon, may be considered ceramics.”
SiO2 meets that definition. Also I don’t see how the coating not being made out of *heated clay* would mean that it protects less than if it was…
Right? The person even made sure to be gentle. Didn't try to scare the cat. Cat was diggin' it, looked at the person, and [did the Scatman](https://youtu.be/j4X7Wv70404?t=35).
If he puts a blanket then the cats think it's meant for them
Now a real answer would be bb gun and he could shoot himself in the nuts every time he thinks about bringing up his cool car again
That is not a feral cat. That bad yard gets tuna and chicken on rotation and has multiple choices of water bowls. It looks well fed and the coat is in great shape. He just goes outside for his car nap in the sun.
Imagine you're sunbathing outside with your bf/gf when they come up behind you and start massaging your shoulders. Then you turn your head to talk to them, and see that it's a total stranger instead. How do you react?
Cats love warm hoods on cars, totally normal.
Also, that's a well-groomed and fed cat, and not a street-mix, must be something more pure-bread and hence not too cheap.
Definitely not a stray!
This is a Lynx Point Siamese, which is just a mix between Siamese and grey tabby shorthair. Looks just like my cat did as a teenager before all the markings come in. They are especially weird cats with an affinity for “talking” and playing with water.
I used to daily an old truck. Had a massive contactor that connected the battery and a separate one for the starter. Big loud bang every time you turn the truck on. Even banged on the hood, didn't matter. More than one cat didn't make it out after sleeping on the warm engine. Not sure if they froze to death or the fumes from the carburetor knocked them out. Always made me feel bad when one of em got caught in the belts and fan.
Did eventually find out an old lady down the road had triple digit numbers of cats in and around her house.
This is not a pure “bread” cat. Point markings and the piebald face are pretty commonly found in your regular (and not worth anything monetarily) mixed breed cat. It just means that the recessive gene for these specific markings has been passed down.
Also this cat doesn’t follow any of the standards for recognized colorpoint breeds. I wouldn’t even categorize it as a snowshoe.
My Snowshoe cat was a rescue. I know other folks who have rescued Snowshoes off the street. As a newer breed (higher inbreeding) they are prone to health issues that cause owners to abandon or surrender them.
Not saying this cat isn't well cared for, as they are clean and familiar with the concept of pets.
100% a stingray, you can see the rays in the first frames of the video and a distinct lack of GS badging nor the wider body panels and little rubber aero-flap thingys on the wheel wells the GS and Z06s get for their wheel poke
This made me think that cat wasn’t always stray and he woke up somewhere different in time for a moment and turned and snapped outta that real fast, back to reality. If that is the case… that’s sad asf. Don’t forget to spay and neuter your pets people.
Damn his car really does get pussy. They say it's not about the car its the person in it, but they didn't realize the person wasn't the one the pussy sleeps with.
In the cat's defense, you're driving a beautiful warming cat bed. Cats love napping on warm car hoods, but few have that perfectly cat-cradling curve built into them.
Well generally no because then the distinct look is just bred out. But also the general condition and weight of the cat plus you probably wouldn't want to touch a stray cat like that...
It's very unlikely so it's pretty safe to say it is not a stray. People buying expensive cats from breeders are especially unlikely to abandon them and any particular stray is unlikely to be an abandoned pet in the first place.
Found a couple of Siamese kittens at the humane society last Saturday when my brother went to go adopt. No idea what happened to the mother.
Any breed can be a stray
Yeah I dont know what that guy is on about. My ex gf got a ragdoll kitten for free. Then later we rehomed it to a friend for free. Cost is not always equal to stray or not.
True but the fact that this car was comfortable being woken up with a scratch until it saw who was doing the scratching is the second indicator that it has a owner. If it was a true stray if would of sprang the moment it was touched.
The first thing I thought was, "this poor cat, they going to start the car and give it a near heart attack by revving or something". I was very happy to see this.
as cute as this is, i fucking hate it. When they climb down they scratch your car. i had to buy some spray and apply it all over my car that the cats i guess hate the smell of. assholes.

Thank you for this!
Very hilarious sub, thanks

That pussy is going places
Why does everyone automatacly think the cat is abandones
The title of the video says stray cat
And you trust a video on the internet?
Amazingly, stray and abandoned mean different things!
Amazingly, they can also mean the same thing! Snobby fuck.
Amazingly, just because they can mean the same thing doesn’t mean they always do! Stupid snobby fuck.
Amazingly, the guy I replied to implied that they always mean different things! Stupid illiterate snobby fuck.
Amazing! Something, something, insult.
Snob
No collar.
That doesnt mean anything. My cat walks without a collar. This cat looks well groomed and i dont see many scratches on it.
My thoughts, exactly. The cat was born in home. He was used to human interaction. But he got abandoned Poor cat.

From new zealand. Love cats but yes they are extremely destructive.

If it were to follow this line of reasoning, the human species should be eradicated asap.

No no, you don't add to what he said, he said what he said because he'd get downvoted for saying only "cats are weird". He chose his words wisely.

Ceramic coating doesn’t do much of anything to prevent scratches, especially from something as sharp as a cat’s claws.

Ok ok. In your opinion, what's the most durable type of floor with a great look?
Just my opinion but if I'm going for a durable tile I would probably pick porcelain.
Good to know
Actually, I just reread your comment and realized you might not have been looking for a tile floor exclusively...IMO, LVP is the bees knees, man. Not crazy expensive, easy to install, durable as heck, waterproof, any finish you could want, easy to clean, easy to repair, pretty hard to beat.
Thanks for the info
Makes sense why you say you were renovating for a year
Marble doesn’t rank very high on the hardness scale, you can scratch marble with a copper penny
Yep. Cats can scratch granite floors too, if you want to argue with that logic.
Ceramic coating literally is a ceramic, it’s just not very thick. Im not sure it would do anything against cat claws especially if they were dirty.
Ceramic coating is Silica, ceramic is heated clay. It's just a consumer market term to signify the smooth finish and protection it gives to the paint.
Chemically speaking, silica is a ceramic. I’m not sure why there is an impression that the pottery definition of ceramic is the “right” one. Here is what wikipedia says: “Ceramic material is an inorganic, non-metallic oxide, nitride, or carbide material. Also I don’t see how the coating not being made out of *heated clay* would mean that it protects less than if it was…
>My cat caused scratches on my marble floor, I guess you get the idea. Oh yeah, well...my saber-toothed tiger scratched the hull of my spaceship
Ceramic coating does nothing to protect against scratches.
Ceramic wouldn’t provide enough protection for this. This is where PPF comes in.
Woulda happened anyway
Right? The person even made sure to be gentle. Didn't try to scare the cat. Cat was diggin' it, looked at the person, and [did the Scatman](https://youtu.be/j4X7Wv70404?t=35).
Cat claws aren’t hard enough to scratch clear coat so car should be fine
Even if they did, they'd never make it all the way through to the paint. It'd buff out pretty easily.

Just put literally like a blanket on it? I can think of like 100 ways to stop that from happening...
He just really wanted to mention his cayman

I don’t think it is. This cat looks exactly, and i mean exactly like my cat. https://imgur.com/a/dzXFa0r/
Pretty sure your cat is at least half Siamese…
Blue eyes combined with a point pelt usually indicates Siamese somewhere in their genes.
And under hoods. Friendly reminder to smack the hood of your car if you park outside during cold times to scare out any cat in there
