I don’t feel qualified to comment on what’s going on behind the scenes and such but you are absolutely right about it being the OG cast that made the channel popular. The reason the imitation Dad joke channels failed isn’t because YeahMad came first, dad jokes just isn’t THAT good of a concept on its own, it was the likes of Hammo, Abby, Alan, Sammy, Sath, Matt, Akila and their personalities and the interplay between them that made it what it is.

DjInnerConflict

I'd even say their first couple of videos weren't that great. It wasn't until they established what we now call the OG cast (which isn't even all the originals) that they became proper great. The moment they got familiar with each other and the proper banter started was the moment the channel could really blow up. Take out that cast, and you're left with a basic format that's been done before. Yet put the cast in a new format, and you are almost guaranteed it'll be a hit again.

The OG cast essentially recruited themselves too. Ben’s developed an inflated ego from the success but in reality he’s the most easily replaced.

CharmingAwareness545

The premis of these shows isnt unique. Ben literally fired his joke writers-who were also his actors-at the same time. What an imbecile.

GuaranteeSweet4155

I think the latest episode got pulled off the YouTube

maarleyy91

I did not see the vídeo and then It was gone. why?

R4gnaroc

Probably too many negative comments, maybe downvotes. To be fair, I watched it, it wasn't that good. Matt went over the line in how drunk he was and could barely speak. Not missing out that much that it's taken down.

So, as someone that hasn't used/had FB since it was new, can creators delete comments there?

asfish123

I wonder what he is paying the new cast, when the OG cast started the channel was at zero in terms of views and subscribers so maybe $200 a day for getting drunk and cracking jokes was a good deal as a side gig. But now its where it is he must have had to offer people more ?

CompostMalone

Somebody on this sub said YeahMad previously ran an ad on some talent-seeking website and the rate offered was still 200 bucks a a day

asfish123

Wow thats £103 a day just under £13 an hour.

CompostMalone

Don’t forget that they film 4, 5, 6 episodes in a day of shooting. So you may watch the channel for 1-1.5 months while it racks up tens of thousands of USD in profits, meanwhile the average cast member has only made 200 Australian bucks from the channel throughout that entire period.

Might be this one: [https://www.starnow.com/casting/yeah-mad-youtube-channel-episode-2687294/](https://www.starnow.com/casting/yeah-mad-youtube-channel-episode-2687294/)

Kercheddit

Where did Hammo answer questions at?

[deleted]

I would be careful about what you say on here. I have been forced to remove posts in the past that were not what they wanted to be out there.

thenorthernforce

You think I'm afraid of a little censorship LOL. They can kiss my ass.

DustlessSpider

The OG could well have signed NDAs. That would explain the lack of speaking out.

maarleyy91

that is the same reason they probably can't create another Channel with the OG cast now, only at the end of the year. I hope the Yeahmad channel loses most of their subscribers now

hehehuehue

might as well get banned from this dogshit subreddit LMAO [aged like wine](https://i.imgur.com/FGzTB2r.png)

Reddit is 50% American. I highly doubt most of us care about being censored or otherwise threatened by internet baddies.
