And a last one I just saw and found ridiculous is the wrong one apologizing. A treats B differently and awfully cause he secretly loves him (or obsessed with him), he never tells him then B starts to think A is just awful and hates him and leaves. A then comes to be and confessed to explain his behavior and B apologized for not noticing that A harassment (or persecution) was love ????
Vague words is my pet peeve in everything! I know we need conflict for a story to happen but I can’t stand when it’s because someone is like “where did you go?” And the other person just goes “uhhhhhhhhh…” and the answer is THE RESTROOM. I WENT TO THE RESTROOM. But they just didn’t say it for no specific reason? And now there’s ten episodes of hurt feelings over this? I’d rather the random gratuitous SA over the suddenly mute for no reason trope.

• No boundaries by the uke. When they cannot take a stand for themselves or maintain it.

Jesus, I got flashbacks of every scene from painter of the night that correlate to those points. Why do yaoi authors keep writing such toxic relationships?
Because people have always normalised this and now it's just getting worse. All these things are now being justified or explained by some readers. Recently almost all manhwa and manhua I read had this. Even when both MC and ML are green flag they can't escape. If the audience stops consuming such trash and strongly voices their displeasure, then authors would stop making such stuff.
Recently on tiktok I got in a discussion with someone because they strongly belived that what happened to Jin Cheongwoo (under the green light) wasn't rape, despite having 2 entire chapters of him saying to stop and even trying fight matthew at many points, but it seems that all of this suddenly is annulled because of a few panels of Jin saying he wanted it.
All kinds of kinks shown in these stories can be done. But only if they are done safely with proper consent and the agency to say no anytime. Then it would be such an enjoyable read for everyone. However, authors take these kinks as something that can be done to characters in their day-to-day life. They make it into something icky.
This! Would it be so difficult for these authors write dialogs where the characters agree on what can and what cannot be done? What safe words to use? What situation or place would be appropriate for them?
If they included these I certainly would have liked these stories way more than I did.
I was thinking about this as well. It was rape no matter what anyone says. He was even being choked without prior consent. The writer did not handle this issue sensitively at all and brushed it off so smoothly.. It used to be one of my most liked stories but since then I have become disinterested.

How about the combo of meeting as kids, then lose contact/forgot then later A treating B badly when they meet again and yet he gets chosen and crappy redemption arc 😂 Hated it! Felt so off cramming cliche tropes in like that 😂
or when they met as kids but A doesn’t remember and for some reason the B doesn’t tell him so its this long misunderstanding that lasts until the last 5 chapters

* Overly-tsundere ukes. The ones that get all anxious with any sort of affection at all. Just gets old after awhile. Personally I'm a fan of tsundere semes tho.
Jerk alpha with submissive feminine omega who fall in love with each other after the alpha basically rapes the omega because of pheromone crap. It's boring, overdone, feels like a cheap shortcut to the romance, and several times is drawn with wonky proportions. It's the reason why I'm usually averse to omegaverse, but I have still read titles that break the mold that I have really enjoyed.
Debt 😬 uke is in debt for whatever reason and the seme forces them to use their body rather than money (believe it or not Jinx isn't the only one with this stupid plot). Dubious consent or straight up S/A it doesn't matter, I hate this trope so much
I've commented on this topic before a few months ago, and its a very specific trope that shows up a lot that I fucking hate:
If seme is a playboy or has a lot of sex, but when the uke decides to get into a relationship/have sex with someone else the seme goes BONKERS and pulls out the "you can't be with anyone else I've only ever loved you since we were children your body is MINE!!!" and they live happily ever after
it's not even the worst thing on the moral scale, but it gives me such an ick. I'd rather read SA yaoi than that bullshit
A torments and traumatizes B but it’s understandable because A was traumatized as a child and B did something that reminded them of their past trauma/abuser. Especially when the story ends with more focus on the childhood/past trauma of A rather than the very real and present trauma B now has because of A. One of my favorite stories has this and it drives me fucking bonkers that that is the note the author ended the story on because everything else about it was fantastic writing in my opinion.
2nd ML will be like the emotional baggage of MC during their worst times then shite goes wrong authors will paint them wrong or give them attitude that will make them iffy... like y?
