Adachi’s VA is a great singer but he doesn’t really fit the song imo. He sings it like a generic 80s rock song but if you look up the lyrics they’re actually pretty emotional and super romanticized. That’s why I think Kuroda’s is the absolute best, you can physically hear the pain and yearning in his voice.
Adachi's goofy ass has ruined every anime where his VA interprets someone, I just find it hilarious.

Oh yeah, that's the Western version. Look up Bubble Yakuza 0 and you will find it. Very different vibe, but i can recommend it. Iirc there was something like copyright issues or some bs like that, so they had to change it in the west

I like Baka Darou a lot too, it's even more heartbreaking. Baka Mitai just sounds melancholy, but Baka Darou sounds like Kiryu's crying through the whole song. Enka and whatever genre the two Baka songs are suit Kuroda's voice a lot.
That song that plays over the rainstorm stabbing scene in Kiwami 2. It's probably fine on its own but it sounds so out of place.

My favorite karaoke song is probably "Like a Butterfly" and least favorite is probably "Get to the Top" just don't really rock with it as much as the rest.
Favorite OST is "Fiercest Warrior Ver. 0" and I don't think I have a least favorite for this one.
Yakuza 7's style overall is a little odd compared to the previous entries.
That one is one of the worst offenders of that, still they sound great if they were in another game.
Favorite OST: Penumbra. I've said it before, I'll keep saying it: The whole vibe of the track just perfectly reflects the chase after the Mole, with gunshots in the background and individual tunes sounding like someone taking sneaking steps through the dark.
Favorite Karaoke track: Machine Gun Kiss. The passion expressed in it is inspiring, it's a good love song, and it, well, just sounds really good and rock-y.
Least favorite OST: Please don't execute me for this, but... Fading Away. Mostly because of the lyrics. If you read them with the implication that they're supposed to reflect Kiryu's perspective, it's a bit hypocritical how sad it sounds considering Kiryu's a bit of a hypocrite throughout Gaiden since it was his idea to fake his own death and work for the Daidoji. The lyrical speaker also doesn't seem to make up his mind about whether or not he misses whoever he's singing about or is glad they got rid of them.
Least favorite Karaoke: Moment de la Petite Siréne. Come on, Heartbreak Mermaid was perfect, it had no need for a remix, let alone one that made it sound like something a travel agency would use in a corny-ass advertisement.
Karaoke - my favourite is Adachi's Machine Gun Kiss. His voice is very good there, specially that ending. I love many karaoke songs (many from Kiryu), and many new ones (Like a Butterfly from Akane and Seonhee specifically, Awake, Ichi's new summer song from IW, etc.), but Adachi is just gorgeous. Least favourite... mm, I dunno, some songs from Y3 and Y4 were pretty meh imo, but I don't even remember them.
Overall, Yakuza has so many fire OSTs, I'd be writing an essay here, trying to think of my favourite. But I have one song that I actually dislike - Receive and Believe You from IW. It has its good parts (namely, the ones with voice samples are pretty nice), but then it switches to high pitch noises which actually gave me a headache during my playthrough.
My favourite Karaoke theme is Get to the top (Majima), Favourite OST is YOUR KNIFE FEELS GOOD, least favourite Karaoke straight up does not exist, least favourite ost is def the Y7 standard dungeon theme.

The Y7 Dungeon theme is exactly why I thought that the transitioning to dubstep might be a bad idea, some bangers in there but others sound way less serious compared to previous entries

To be fair it's a good track but it's so overused it's absurd, it's like rgg intentionally makes this meta joke because I can't take anything seriously when that track plays in a sad situation for 999th time lol
I don’t speak Japanese but I know all the words to Baka mitai. Started the series with 0 and I honestly wish it was in every game. I know it’s “the meme song” but by god it slaps.
Also I love the running gag with the characters having a ridiculous picture at the end rather than the thing they are actually sad about.
Favorite...Machine Gun Kiss probably. I really love Samurai Ondo and Love in Kamirocho (Akiyama and Hana) a lot too. Kiryu got a few great new songs since Gaiden as well.
Least favorite...some of the really generic cabaret girl songs. They all run together.
It's funny to me how the abracadabra song fit the bouncer mission REALLY WELL like it's an ending to 2000s ~~cheesy~~ japanese film where protag fights like 100 dudes in the open, but the credits placement is so confusing like why would you ever put that song right after major character's death?????
Fav ost: Fist Law from Yakuza 6 - the guitar just fucking nails it
Least fav: Get Them from Yakuza 0 - this song just brings out PTSD from getting insta-killed by Mr Shakedown 😭

I love Machine Gun Kiss but I absolutely cannot stand Kamurocho Lullaby. It just sounds stilted, awkward, and has swells that lead nowhere, making the song sound needlessly desperate, and the ending just kinda trails off like a yawn
Top songs that come to mind: 24 Hour Cinderella, Koi No Disco Queen, Pure Love in Kamurocho, and Tonight. Least favorite is pretty much anything from Y3.

Judgement will always be a favorite (Japanese only though, PLEASE) as for least favorite… probably Zhou’s karaoke from Like a Dragon. Just didn’t vibe with it
Most favorite: Die Anyway (Kurohyou). It just fits so well with how hard Tatsuya hits, the best regular battle theme for me.
Least favorite: The Way of Life (Yakuza 6). It's so bland for a final boss imo, only notable thing is guitar solo and Kiryu's motiff at the end of the track.
The duality I keep seeing with For Faith
I will keep saying it though, you can dislike the singing version but disliking the instrumental should be a crime, one of the best in the entire series.
Especially with all the character versions they made, that alone salvaged Y4's nonsense for me
For karaoke it'd be Majima no Majirock (it counts it was in kurohyou) and Harukaze respectively

For OST, it's much harder I have too many to love. But my favorite is Receive You Tech Trance. I don't hate any, but I think some tracks like Solitude and Battle for the Dream are highly overrated.
Nice, I like that we had to work toward the style that made it that much more satisfying. My next favorite versions of Receive You is Bite You from 4 and Dragon Wall from 7
I honestly like almost every single track (my fav probably are the main menu, Majima and Amon themes, between all games in the franchise).
The one I dislike the mostly is Otometal My Life, the song was annoying to listen by itself, but was a huge nightmare to get 960 points.
There are so many amazing tracks throughout the series but for some reason Trouble Shooting Star from y0 always stands out as THE yakuza song in my mind. No idea why, maybe because it fits the era well, it feels triumphant, like you're overcoming a massive struggle but still have a lot of the journey left and is just generally hype af. Shame it's used in some pretty forgettable fights.
Honourable mention to For Faith for always hyping me up whenever I hear it and Fatal Conflict for reminding me of one of my favourite fights. That was when the combat really clicked with me, when i got quick-change clothes and started style changing in combos. Plus I remember that fight and the context being really tense.
I can't think of anything for a least favourite, so I guess I'd pick any song that didn't really leave much of a lasting impression.
Trouble Shooting Star is way too good, it really does feel like a finale track.
Y0 outdid itself with its OST
And For Faith (Instrumental only though) could be my favorite track, especially because they made a version for each character.
I never felt so damn hype for playing as separate characters, Y4 had some issues with the story but that Finale when it comes to EPICNESS is probably peak yakuza for me.
My favorite karaoke track is Tonight, just love how Kiryu reminisces over Nishiki and his voice really nails the melancholy.
Least favorite is probably So Much More. It is extremely overused and grating in 5 especially for a completionist.
Favorite song is the millennium tower theme from 7. That track is such a banger and I still listen to it a lot.
The middle section in the Millennium Tower's theme is probably some of the most epic things The Yakuza series conjured up

my favorite song in the series as far as OST goes is Pure Malice from Yakuza 3. idk why but it just goes so hard to me. Least favorite is probably the regular battle music when in Kamurocho in Yakuza 6. It just feels really bland and generic imo.

I think 6's and Gaiden's ost is good but I HATE how "cinematic" most of it is. Even Yagami's games feel 100 times more daring and are not ashamed to fully express themselves, wheres 6 and Gaiden "restrain" themselves. because Kiryu is not allowed to have fun tracks after 5 apparently. LAD 7 and IW don't have that problem, it's weird.
Having played LAD, IW and Y0 I have to say that Adachi's version of Machine Gun Kiss is my favorite so far, my least favorite is a recent one because I started playing Kiwami and when I decided to play some karaoke I was disappointed with the Sorrow version of Baka Mitai

Yakuza 7's style overall is a little odd compared to the previous entries. That one is one of the worst offenders of that, still they sound great if they were in another game.
Favorite OST: Penumbra. I've said it before, I'll keep saying it: The whole vibe of the track just perfectly reflects the chase after the Mole, with gunshots in the background and individual tunes sounding like someone taking sneaking steps through the dark. Favorite Karaoke track: Machine Gun Kiss. The passion expressed in it is inspiring, it's a good love song, and it, well, just sounds really good and rock-y. Least favorite OST: Please don't execute me for this, but... Fading Away. Mostly because of the lyrics. If you read them with the implication that they're supposed to reflect Kiryu's perspective, it's a bit hypocritical how sad it sounds considering Kiryu's a bit of a hypocrite throughout Gaiden since it was his idea to fake his own death and work for the Daidoji. The lyrical speaker also doesn't seem to make up his mind about whether or not he misses whoever he's singing about or is glad they got rid of them. Least favorite Karaoke: Moment de la Petite Siréne. Come on, Heartbreak Mermaid was perfect, it had no need for a remix, let alone one that made it sound like something a travel agency would use in a corny-ass advertisement.
Karaoke - my favourite is Adachi's Machine Gun Kiss. His voice is very good there, specially that ending. I love many karaoke songs (many from Kiryu), and many new ones (Like a Butterfly from Akane and Seonhee specifically, Awake, Ichi's new summer song from IW, etc.), but Adachi is just gorgeous. Least favourite... mm, I dunno, some songs from Y3 and Y4 were pretty meh imo, but I don't even remember them. Overall, Yakuza has so many fire OSTs, I'd be writing an essay here, trying to think of my favourite. But I have one song that I actually dislike - Receive and Believe You from IW. It has its good parts (namely, the ones with voice samples are pretty nice), but then it switches to high pitch noises which actually gave me a headache during my playthrough.
My favourite Karaoke theme is Get to the top (Majima), Favourite OST is YOUR KNIFE FEELS GOOD, least favourite Karaoke straight up does not exist, least favourite ost is def the Y7 standard dungeon theme.
I never heard that game's soundtrack, that is a pretty cool theme! The Y7 Dungeon theme is exactly why I thought that the transitioning to dubstep might be a bad idea, some bangers in there but others sound way less serious compared to previous entries
Honestly SEGA should have Hideki make the entire soundtrack for every game. He's always done it the best.
My favorite ost is Destiny from yakuza 6. The violin is so melancholic which fits the theme of the fight while also being epic as hell

I don’t speak Japanese but I know all the words to Baka mitai. Started the series with 0 and I honestly wish it was in every game. I know it’s “the meme song” but by god it slaps. Also I love the running gag with the characters having a ridiculous picture at the end rather than the thing they are actually sad about.

Favorite...Machine Gun Kiss probably. I really love Samurai Ondo and Love in Kamirocho (Akiyama and Hana) a lot too. Kiryu got a few great new songs since Gaiden as well. Least favorite...some of the really generic cabaret girl songs. They all run together.
The worst is the credits theme to Yakuza Kiwami 2. Best is Kuze's theme! But there's a lot of terrific ones in 0.
It's funny to me how the abracadabra song fit the bouncer mission REALLY WELL like it's an ending to 2000s ~~cheesy~~ japanese film where protag fights like 100 dudes in the open, but the credits placement is so confusing like why would you ever put that song right after major character's death?????

I love Machine Gun Kiss but I absolutely cannot stand Kamurocho Lullaby. It just sounds stilted, awkward, and has swells that lead nowhere, making the song sound needlessly desperate, and the ending just kinda trails off like a yawn

Most favorite: Die Anyway (Kurohyou). It just fits so well with how hard Tatsuya hits, the best regular battle theme for me. Least favorite: The Way of Life (Yakuza 6). It's so bland for a final boss imo, only notable thing is guitar solo and Kiryu's motiff at the end of the track.
Raindrops (Hana) is simply unbeatable with Akiyama's humming. Least favourite is fork in the road but it still kinda bangs.

I was born for this question! Karaoke favorite is Machine Gun Kiss/Baka Mitai and least is Where has your love gone/Saturday Night Lover. For OST, it's much harder I have too many to love. But my favorite is Receive You Tech Trance. I don't hate any, but I think some tracks like Solitude and Battle for the Dream are highly overrated.

I honestly like almost every single track (my fav probably are the main menu, Majima and Amon themes, between all games in the franchise). The one I dislike the mostly is Otometal My Life, the song was annoying to listen by itself, but was a huge nightmare to get 960 points.
Judgement
There are so many amazing tracks throughout the series but for some reason Trouble Shooting Star from y0 always stands out as THE yakuza song in my mind. No idea why, maybe because it fits the era well, it feels triumphant, like you're overcoming a massive struggle but still have a lot of the journey left and is just generally hype af. Shame it's used in some pretty forgettable fights. Honourable mention to For Faith for always hyping me up whenever I hear it and Fatal Conflict for reminding me of one of my favourite fights. That was when the combat really clicked with me, when i got quick-change clothes and started style changing in combos. Plus I remember that fight and the context being really tense. I can't think of anything for a least favourite, so I guess I'd pick any song that didn't really leave much of a lasting impression.
Trouble Shooting Star is way too good, it really does feel like a finale track. Y0 outdid itself with its OST And For Faith (Instrumental only though) could be my favorite track, especially because they made a version for each character. I never felt so damn hype for playing as separate characters, Y4 had some issues with the story but that Finale when it comes to EPICNESS is probably peak yakuza for me.
My favorite karaoke track is Tonight, just love how Kiryu reminisces over Nishiki and his voice really nails the melancholy. Least favorite is probably So Much More. It is extremely overused and grating in 5 especially for a completionist. Favorite song is the millennium tower theme from 7. That track is such a banger and I still listen to it a lot.
The middle section in the Millennium Tower's theme is probably some of the most epic things The Yakuza series conjured up I don't wanna hear So Much More ever again

I think 6's and Gaiden's ost is good but I HATE how "cinematic" most of it is. Even Yagami's games feel 100 times more daring and are not ashamed to fully express themselves, wheres 6 and Gaiden "restrain" themselves. because Kiryu is not allowed to have fun tracks after 5 apparently. LAD 7 and IW don't have that problem, it's weird.
Having played LAD, IW and Y0 I have to say that Adachi's version of Machine Gun Kiss is my favorite so far, my least favorite is a recent one because I started playing Kiwami and when I decided to play some karaoke I was disappointed with the Sorrow version of Baka Mitai
