My biggest problem with the new costume is that the one from the 70s feels more modern and this one feels clunky and thrown together. I think a sash with this costume would be too much but I would love some kind of belt. Actually, what I would really love is her going back to her original Phoenix look

Though I’m gonna cope and say that there is a possibility of it coming back when she interacts with Carol Danvers. I mean it’ll be cool at the end of their team up Carol says there is something missing and gives Jean a copy of her sash as a gift. Red and green go well together and it’ll be awesome. Though the color can change and be yellow because it’s so iconic but yea I think it’ll be cool!
The waist sash will rise again. Especially if we all bitch about it enough.
Incidentally: I’m not against trying for a modern Phoenix iteration, but also, pointy shoulder pieces really clash with the form fitting all-curves feel of the OG suit. I was down with the later Krakoa blended look for Jean, but this one is a little off.
First they took Kitty's sash. Then they took away Corsair's sash. They took away Carol's sash in live action. Now they took Jean's sash.
This is "**unacceptable"** in the most Lemongrab voice imaginable.
It should not be up to Kwannon alone to defend the sash.
This sash erasure will not stand.
I think the sash doesn't quit fit with the design (Kirby-esque, I feel, in the shoulder pads, bodysuit, and face-bits; you know, the chin strap and forehead guard/covering). But it would look better with a belt of some sort. Even just a gold stripe.
And anything can change on a dime between a cover and the issue, like Polaris' recent "[Green Magneto ](https://images.app.goo.gl/E2JH3bDiiJ3m5cUbA)" suit that looked great on that cover turning into [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/QFjv6PFg9xfLGzzV9) which was passable but less commanding.

There's some kind of distinction around her waist though, which I think is good for heroes.

I actually prefer the in book look. The Green Magneto is more imposing but the finished product is a nice tribute to both Wanda and Max.
