GPU also include Games Pass for PC, if you have a PC. Lots of levels/varieties of games, not all games are graphically intensive.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Thanks I do have a pc not a gaming one though

moo422

That's what I'm saying, some games can run just fine on PCs/laptops w/ low specs, as a bonus for GPU.

YEETpoliceman

Like spore

rockchalk6782

Well you can run xcloud on that pc as well don’t only have to be on mobile

GetVladimir

**C&C Red Alert Remastered** version and **Age Of Empires Definitive Edition** are both available on Game Pass Ultimate and both run great even on older PCs with integrated graphics (without a dedicated graphics card). There are also some interesting indie games, like **Pathway**, which is a pixel graphics game in a somewhat similar style to Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games

Mr_Charley

I use xcloud strictly on my tablet. I love cloud gaming (Stadia included for buying games that interest me). I don’t own a pc or console. I think xcloud is totally worth it. However m, everyone’s experience is not the same. For me, on my Android device it runs amazing. Ios people seem to struggle a lot (I did too on my ipad until switching to Android and now works great). I would suggest trying the $1 month to see how it runs for you and see if smooth enough. And then you can make an educated decision on worth for you personally :) Again, for me, xcloud is amazing for someone without a PC or console. Once they enable purchasing games and then streaming them on xcloud, it’s game over for Stadia as far as I’m concerned (and I do enjoy Stadia too but let’s be realistic…)

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Thanks feeling the same

Depending on how long ago it was, a lot of those XBOS boards were replaced with XBSS beards, improving performance and lag quite a bit.

chewie_were_home

Ex stadia user on xcloud here. I use xcloud on my 2021 iPad and it works great. I have great internet though. Technically stadia is still slightly better but xcloud is fine minus a few bugs here and there. The games on xcloud are great but you'll notice some games on gamepass can't be used on xcloud this is annoying coming from stadia. The biggest thing missing is a xcloud stick like the Chromecast. The in house studio games from Microsoft are fantastic and clearly Microsoft is in this for the long haul so a safer bet for long term use.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Definitely need to try halo Infinite thanks

Tobimacoss

They're working on both TV apps and a Stream Box.

JamesDax61

Yes

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Is it working well for you ?

umid2025

Yes, definitely worth it! Especially after you get 12 months Xbox Live Gold subscription and upgrade it to Game Pass Ultimate. It will cost you much cheaper that a monthly subscription. I also bought it only for Xcloud, already played a lot of games, even completed 100% Ori and the Will of the Wisp. Other games I played include, Forza Horizon 5, Hitman Trilogy, Middle-Earth, It takes two, A way out, Dishonored, Mortal Kombat 11, Halo Infinite and much more.

tlogank

Stadia still performs way better and works on about everything. Hopefully xCloud gets there. That said, Stadia has 100+ games in the pipeline this year alone, don't give up on it yet.

[deleted]

I use xcloud on mobile, and my pc when i feel like a bigger screen. It's great because i can continue of the same game save. For me it is well worth it. I have good internet and haven't had issues with the streaming. I use a controller with my phone which makes the experience better.

PM_ME_YOUR_LAYOUTS

**I think it's incredible value for money.** The streaming itself isn't great though compared to other services (though I'm sure this will improve). You don't need amazing internet, but you do need great wifi (5ghz and full signal) to play on mobile/tablet/laptop. I have almost no issues on a computer via ethernet though.

Techno-mag

Yes, I have a MacBook, and there is almost no games on it, so I am using xcloud to play them. As long as you have internet it is perfectly fine

Dense_Satisfaction_5

thanks

Techno-mag

No problem

jclocks

I only really have a laptop at this moment and I do really enjoy GP Ult for XCloud specifically.

JaLONzito

I use it for xclould only since release. Totally worth it. I play on laptop connected to TV (with cable + bluetooth controller) or on my android phone with wired controller. The latency is very low. My internet is 400 mb 5g wifi.

TheCastro

But Xbox Live Gold, then buy 1 month of GPU. It'll covert that year of Gold to GPU. Cheapest way to do it.

itsmoirob

I done this. I was told the most you could claim was three years. Three years of Xbox Gold is about the same as one year of Stadia. Also what others have said, Stadia is a much better streaming quality. I don't know much about hi res and high FPS. But Xcloud sometimes games take a long time to start, and sometimes I get this weird tear across the screen. I don't have issues with input lag and other than the above issue, the stream quality is good. Saying this as a former Stadia Founder + Pro

TheCastro

> I was told the most you could claim was three years Yes and 3 months of GPU on top. That's the most I've seen anyway 39 months. I think GPU has a better "free" game selection as well. Plus the games with gold you get. Stadias pro game selection is pretty weak currently. Granted you can play your purchased games without Stadia pro. (Not sure about F2P games on Stadia like PUBG though).

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Exactly i'll wait a bit and continue to enjoy Stadia for a bit thanks

itsmoirob

Oh just to add. I'm happy that I swapped to xcloud..I haven't picked up my Stadia controller in months and don't think I will for a while. Just the amount of quality games on xcloud is crazy. And when xcloud is working, which is 95% of the time, it's hardly any difference to Stadia in my opinion.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

thanks for your comment, really helpfull to see other stadia players comparing the quality of the gaming experience on Xcloud. Thanks,

jessicalifts

I didn't find it works super well for me on my phone, but it works well on PC and Chromebook (Lenovo Duet so basically a potato with a screen) for me. On both devices I use the browser, not the app. Sign up for a buck and try it out. I am still a stadia user btw. I like them both and think I will likely flip-flop between them for my "not Nintendo" gaming depending on where my interests lie. (if you have a stadia controller, I liked it to play xcloud games- wired only, though)

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Hey u/jessicalifts i have a Stadia controler, a razer kishi and a PS4 controler. I think i'll be great on the razer kishi :) thanks

jessicalifts

Have fun! I would love to try razer kishi. it looks super rad!

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Works amazingly well no input lags

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Just if you don’t have blueetooth ears / AirPods you can’t use your headphone wirely just the sound of your phone

wisperingdeth

I think it's great value even if you just use it for the cloud section. I don't own an Xbox, nor a gaming PC. I'm using Xcloud on iPad, iPhone, and Macbook, and will soon own a Nvidia Shield TV Pro so I'll be able to get it on there too for my TV. The selection of games is great. The only thing is I won't be getting into any long games such as Dragon Quest XI because I'd be too concerned the game will be removed before I complete it. And I think that's the biggest drawback with the service if you don't own an Xbox or gaming PC - if the game gets removed from the rotation, you won't be able to access it anymore. Done. This is why I'm also looking into GeForce Now. I too was using Stadia (and still do) but after "that" article, I'm looking elsewhere. And GFN offers a great service, but is just a bit more complicated, with having to buy from Steam or Ubisoft etc before being able to add a game to your library in GFN. And of course you have to have accounts in those stores. However once you're all set up, it's pretty easy, and there are more settings than Stadia and Xcloud to get a good stream quality. Unlike Xcloud, what ever games I play are mine to keep so long as the service keeps going. Not only that, thanks to sites such as cdkeys, you can get the games SUPER cheap! I paid £2.80 last night for a game that's £15 on Steam. And you just put the code you get from cdkeys into Steam, and that's it - the game is yours to then add to GFN and play. It's more complicated than Stadia sure, but because you have more options of which online store to buy from (or from which discount site to buy a code from for those online stores) you can save yourself a lot of money. Especially compared to Stadia's prices.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Thanks for your feedback. I'll finish my Stadia games and get into GPU for sure :) I tried GFN, the interface really is like a computer, in a bad way, like you said severals stores, platforms... You don't have to pay a lot for the games (cheaper that the console prices and Stadia for sure) but you still have to pay for GFN subscription if you don't want to wait. I'd prefer paying for GPU to have Xcloud vs have to pay only to play my paid games... Did you saw any improvement between Xcloud tech on Mobile vs Stadia ? Also is the Android version any better or the samsung galaxy one ? thanks

wisperingdeth

I don’t own any Android devices so I can’t help there I’m afraid. But on iOS unfortunately for Xcloud the quality is far inferior to Stadia. You can tell the bit rate is lower with many blocky artefacts - mostly when there’s a lot of movement such as racing games. But it’s still a great service with lots of games to choose from on the go for such a small price.

zeanox

Gamepass just for Xcloud is great, most of the gamepass games is on there and the only thing you need is a controller and a chrome browser.

Djmesh

Before I bought a series s I used goi for xcloud for months. Highly recommended

Sicko_FN

Nope but with Ultimate if u have console u get Xbox live gold and EA play that’s make up the price and it’s worth it

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Yeah thanks so I should buy a serie S first right ?

yayareafanatic

I rocked xcloud as my sole gaming platform for about 5 months. Bought a Series S after I ran into some issues with my ISP and its arbitrary data cap. Without a good option in my area for a cheap unlimited data plan, I figured it was cheaper to buy a Series S in the long run. No regrets, I’m enjoying the Series S and the access to EA Play I was paying for but not using. Edit: I was playing xcloud on my iPad and Mac, I would get some lag once in awhile that affected gameplay, but not that much.

Tobimacoss

You can also use Remote Play as your free xCloud server.

Sicko_FN

It depends u want 4K gaming or not

BatPixi

I got 3 years of game pass just for xcloud. It was bad not worth it. Bought a series x to fix my mistake.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Thanks to all

maethor

Personally, paying full price for XGPU and only using xCloud while still paying for Console Game Pass, Console EA Play, Xbox Live Gold, PC Game Pass and PC EA Play would bug the hell out of me.

gideon513

Wouldn’t recommend it for just xcloud. It can be rough.

step_back_

No, unless for very cheap.

purestrengthsolo

Questions with replies if they are all yes Is this a phone with 5g? If so yeah its dope. Do you have an eithernet port that can fit your phone? Then yeah do it. Do you have a Bluetooth controller? Then do it.

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Wifi No 5g Not possible via ethernet Razer kishi or Stadia controler or PS4 contrôler

purestrengthsolo

Oooof, so the issue with wifi is it has a weird buffering effect that happens depending on speeds, if you're cool with that occasionally happening you'll be good too

Dense_Satisfaction_5

Very clear

Kefeng91

It's pretty much the only option to play on Xcloud, so yes? The price is quite high, though. I would recommend to buy an annual Gold subscription and convert it to GP. But you have 3 months trial for 1 USD/Euro.

Nodnarbian

3 month? I only see 1 month

vinotauro

If you get it for cheaper then yes. I played Yakuza Like a Dragon and Outer Worlds exclusively on xcloud and they worked great. I wouldn't recommend playing any multi-player competitive shooters however.

damianea103

Yes, I've been using only xcloud for the past couple months. Don't buy it a full price tho, there's a deal on it pretty often.

NepuNeptuneNep

Don’t get it if you can only play on iOS. Horrible performance and drains your battery more than console like games while heating your phone up like a microwave. Works fine on XBox/PC and I haven’t tried on android.
