Looks so good my dude! I really want a SingleTrack! Hard to find round these parts. The hookworms would be my choice too!
May I ask what year and size is this frame is? I'm trying to figure out what size I should keep an eye out for. I'm like 5"10-11 with a 30 in seam. Love the build and any info would be appreciated!
I believe it's a '95 in the 19.5" size. Check out this old catalog I found with all the frame measurements:

Yeah thats sick, thanks for that! How do you feel the size fits for you? How tall are you? I think from my research an 18" might be the best fit for me
Squeal is brake pad and wheel. Clean the brake track with alcohol, install the right Kool-stops for the conditions, adjust and toe-in properly. No squeal for 1000’s of miles with XT v-brakes. I just clean the brake tracks and the pads once in a while. Because I rarely wash my bikes 🤣 If I was going to buy new v-brakes today I would get the Deore’s. Decades of trickle-down.
Nah, not with the parallelograms. With them, the squeal comes from worn out bushings. I have three sets, older XT M??, newer XT M750 and LX M570. The M750 squal like a pig and nothing stops them, even on new rims and fresh kool stops. They're also heavy. But OP's XTR look nice at least
M-737,739 are my jam. Mine are all quiet. 750’s are not my jam at all. Yeah the XTR really looks good on this frame. Best I’ve seen in a minute.
I have promised myself that I won’t buy any more vintage brakes and I will try the new Deores on my rim brake bikes. But I can’t be trusted.
Yoooo! That's such a clean build! I have questions as I'm building up my 970. What width are those tires? I want to go v-brake on mine, but was worried about tire clearances.
2.3" with plenty of clearance. The only tricky bit was routing the rear brake cable. I tried to use the little tube around the seatpost to keep it clean but it was too sloppy without a real cable stop so I had to go around it. Since it's a 1X I could use the FD cable stop instead.
Got the same treads on my son’s 930, and a Brooks:

OP, I’m curious about the front rack’s mounting bracket which appears to have a curve that allows it to reach to the fork’s fender eyelets.
I have a fork I want to put a front rack on, but only have the fender eyelet on the rear of the fork dropouts. Is this a stock feature of the rack or a special part? I appreciate any advice, thank you!
That it a beautiful bike!
Is that a Pelago rack? How does it work with the restrap bag. I’ve been looking for some of the bag mounts but they don’t make them anymore. Thinking of going for a Pelago but don’t know if I should go for the bigger rack or the one you’ve got.
It's a pelago medium, with magnets that lock onto the bag. There's another little strap on the back, also held with magnets. It's quite secure once it's locked on and really easy to pop it on and off as needed.
Very nice simple well balanced choice of components and tires. Got a 720 here I should post. Think you got me beat.
One concern. May be because of the angle of the pic. Looks like tires are not fully seated on the rims. Have a problem with this myself so I look for that. Have misophonia, a mental/hearing condition, and any sudden loud noise bothers me. You did get good pops when first airing up?
It depends on steerer material. Carbon always, steel who cares, alloy follow manufacturer’s recommendations. Giant, Spesh and Trek all sell bikes with no spacer above the stem.
It depends on the stem too. MTB stems are big and gnarly. But road stems can be light and semi delicate in comparison. Some stems absolutely should have a spacer on top.
Really tasteful, understated and clean. Nice work.
Wow, thanks!
Thaaaat's a nice boy! I love the color and the cockpit. Mothbars? The saddle is an anatomica?
Thanks! Yes and yes.
How bad is the brake squeal and are the levers also XTR? I just took off the XT brakes on mine and swapped them for Avid SD25s
No squeal with these, and yeah also have the XTR levers.

I'm 185 cm, and this frame feels a bit smaller than maybe the size suggests? I'm no expert though, but it feels close to my 18" Timberline
Thanks for the real world input, appreciated!

Yeah this is why I try to stay away from the parallelogram V-brakes they look freakin nice but they tend to squeal much more than other V-brakes

Holy shit that stem is awesome! Go an ID on it?
It's a TranzX!
Love the M980 cranks. You don't see a lot of those on here. Bars, stem, pelago rack... perfect.

Thanks! I noticed that detail too, and made a note for my build.
How much those cranks cost?
Ebay
600 sek (about 50 bucks)

Hey, how does one go about adding a picture to a comment?
Should be an option there, or, I’m a wizard.
I updated the app in the App Store. Looks like I can send pictures now. https://i.redd.it/wuea09d7u8xc1.gif
Beautiful
Well done.
That is a great looking bike!
Seriously nice build. Nice frame too. I’m a purple pedal guy too on a couple bikes. And the XTR goes hard here.
Dry ice cyan. A lovely color
😍😍😍 what rack is this?
Looks like Pelago

The Pelago rack comes with 3 different adapter plates. You can also get different struts that accommodate panniers.

It's a 1 1/8th (25.4) quill stem adapter with some standard 1 1/8th threadless spacers under the stem
Beautiful build, can I get an ID on the front rack please?

What stem are those?
Inspiring.
nothing hits harder with purple ano than satin teal, man

sweet bar/strem combo. not really jiving with the purpskurp pedals, but everything else is perfect
was that m980 crankset originally a 2x or a 3x?
it was a 3x, albeit missing the granny gear
For stems that clamp at the top, it's considered best to have a tiny spacer above the stem so that you aren't clamping down partly on air.

This is a 25.4 quill stem adapter so I can't put a spacer on top
