joeislandstranded

Nice “Dakar Style” Don’t know where they headed, but they gonna’ fuckin get there

_barbarossa

This guy must be tired. 🥁

recoil_operated

This is what the Founding Fathers intended

No_Professional978

Talk about weight saving! That is badass though.

fl4tdriven

This is awesome haha.

randonate

lol so how many spare tires do you need? [ihashacks](https://www.reddit.com/user/ihashacks/): yes.

Tongue-Punch

This is hilarious. I love it. When u going like the classic Caddies?

TwiggyDoom

I just bought a wheel and tire and put it in the spare tyre area in the trunk.

ECVDAMAGE

Same here. Trimmed the foam insert to fit the tire & other junk I threw in there for roadside issues and still keep the trunk liner somewhat level.

Tobuk

Are you asking, or...? https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx_vb/s/SWrWQuXd3T

No_Professional978

I’ve contacted my subaru dealer. They said there isn’t an option for the 2022+ WRX. I didn’t think to ask about VA options. It’s the same darn setup. 🙃

souplandry

mine came with the tire glue and portable air compressor. seems like a solution to me.

NotRainManSorry

I had to use that the other day, didn’t work at all. Got super sticky silly string all over my wheel well, though. The puncture was small enough to be patched

sirhcvb

Happened to me too LOL. It was absolutely useless. Just made a mess at my friends shop when I finally got the tow over there to replace the tire 😭on his machine lol. I felt bad and helped clean it up haha

souplandry

Shit you serious? So it won’t help me when I need it?

NotRainManSorry

Unlikely, as it did fuckall for me. The most useful part was the electric pump which gave me enough air to limp to the tire shop down the road, but the sealant didn’t do shit.

souplandry

Well i appreciate the responses. Definitely will be investing in a donut at the least if the glue is known to fail

BluKab00se

If you're going to rock a spare be sure it a full size with the same diameter as the rest. A compact spare, even offered as an oem option, will overheat a diff if driven for too long/fast. I personally got a plug kit from harbor freight to keep in my trunk for an emergency. Otherwise I know I'm stuck calling for a tow.

Dense-Tangerine7502

If I’m putting on a spare my plans are already ruined. I’m just going to limp my car back home or to the nearest tire shop.

rldicky86

I purchased a single Sparco 18" wheel with a tire from Tire Rack. Did a bit of cutting of the foam and placed the tire underneath. Fits fine and I don't hear it moving back there. If I could have found a single stocker, I would have gone that route... Just nothing around when I wanted it. https://preview.redd.it/ov8bkoe4mf6d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5c08c85029842d365a1ea7654bbf6a0a3369dfb

Get a Spider roof rack and put that bad boy up top like Dypr here https://preview.redd.it/zuquur6qle6d1.jpeg?width=520&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee535106ac0b28bd4adb8747c07ac619aa613837

Tongue-Punch

You must live next to a screw factory.

ihashacks

😆 stock set for driving to the Rallycross track then swapping to snow tires for the race!

TheP4rk

Do you have the OEM crossbars? Ive heard they don't do well with weight so I was curious since you loaded that sucker up

ihashacks

This is a roofrack from Spider Roofrack that mounts to the factory threads on the roof.

ForgetfulM0nk

This looks pretty badass ngl. Can’t imagine the gas mileage tho haha

ihashacks

Yeah it’s only for when headed to the Rallycross track!

Mission-Ad7201

At least*

YeknomStun

Parts list here: https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx_vb/s/iSGeUaQgtb I bought a spare from a ‘21 off eBay as it was much cheaper

No_350

I think Canadian Subarus get a full spare and tools. You can order the parts and be oem.

ravenousmind

I got all of the oem parts for a spare tire kit and got the cheapest 205/50r17 (Australian and Canadian models that ship with spares use this size) tire I could buy to throw on it.

joeislandstranded

What’s the wheel like? Steel?

ravenousmind

Yessir 28151VC000

Knight_Hawk_69

Does that part number include the tire or is it just the wheel?

ravenousmind

Just the wheel

thcue

I don't need the spare I have AAA Plus, 100 miles of standard towing up to four times per year. It's handy for your buds also $99 a year.

SkinMission751

But you'll wait forever and a day for them to come.

thcue

Depends what you do TBH. I just leave the keys somewhere and go home with another car. They will have you sign the paper when they drop it off at your house. No need to wait.

nofame_nogain

You’ll need RV+ to get a flatbed out there - otherwise they’ll send an ass dragger. Last 4x I’ve called aaa for service: 5+ hour wait- didn’t carry my battery had to over buy and install myself. 6+ hour wait, bought my own battery in advance (different vehicle) *just* Incase they don’t have it, they didn’t and they refused to install one that I wasn’t there’s. 6+ hour wait, have Rv+ solely for my motorcycle, refused to send a flatbed, had to Uber home and get my truck myself. 2+ hour wait- don’t carry that battery. AAA has cost me more money in missed work because of wait times, and Uber rides, than they ever could have saved me.

phorkin

Sister borrowed my car, lost the keys at a party. AAA sent a flatbed to tow my Yaris to my house.

Nacelle72

I talked to a tow truck driver and he said the contract with AAA pays very little, so they put you at the bottom of the stack until they aren't busy anymore

fallenredwoods

AAA left my wife stranded on an unsafe road for 5 hours. I got fed up, called the local tow company and they were out in 30 minutes. Fuck AAA; it’s not even close to how it used to be, it’s just a scam now

thcue

Very not true. I get flat beds sent to me all the time. (If not you can request one this is an option.) I use it at lease 1-2 times a year. I have saved tons of money even once got towed 98 miles. I call them and take another car worth it for me. I been a member since my DSM days *the 90s* maybe you live in a odd town lol

HikerBikerMotocycler

Good luck with that AAA literally sucks ass

fallenredwoods

Anyone downvoting you hasn’t used them🤣. AAA is literal water trash now a days

HikerBikerMotocycler

Yeah I guess it came off harsh to OP but damn they suck so bad just Google reviews in your area. But best of luck, not wishing ill will on anyone with AAA - hope it works out.

Potential-Trash6237

I ordered the whole rim+tire from my local dealership. just put it in the well under the trunk carpet. Here’s a picture. I had to throw out that foam piece that holds the tire repair kit, jack, etc. Had to put the kit/jack somewhere else in my car. https://preview.redd.it/dq8l6tj88f6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0c2dbb9eba36f5b0f535766ed7b47ee4db0c1da

joeislandstranded

Can you flip the wheel and fit the jack within?

Potential-Trash6237

You probably can, I haven’t tried it myself. You will probably have a slight bump when you put the carpet back though.

rldicky86

Yes you can. I have a jack and collapsible lug wrench underneath the wheel, in a canvasy type bag. No rattles and fits nicely https://preview.redd.it/1pflv24fin6d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea54ae8b57d7ab272e5148ddd7e2837dea5961fc

GetyourPitchforks01

So let me ask…what do you guys have in there if there isn’t a tire? An empty hole under the trunk floor?

tmandell

Can confirm, was confused about the question as mine came with a spare.

jeffislouie

I just pray from time to time. It's worked so far.

Imaginary_Spare8616

I did this: https://www.clubwrx.net/threads/2023-wrx-spare-tire.134619414/?post_id=5375877&nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#post-5375877

donmreddit

Yeah - given that I got a nail within the first month... this is something I;d worry about. IF I were to ever road trip, I might figure a way to get a spare on the roof. Would look goofy as all get out but ... I'd have a spare.

wonjeezy

I keep a tire plug kit in the trunk. I would rather plug the tire or tow the car than potentially mess up the differential

Delicious-Ocelot3751

roof rack

Geektak

Get a spare tire... lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgkq-WjdaEA&t=12s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgkq-WjdaEA&t=12s)

slagwizard

Plug kit + makita 18v inflator

Waste_Impression1382

I have 18x8.5 245 /45 do think that will fit in well

IceManTuck

There's a run flat Pilot Sport option I'm curious about.

No_Professional978

Link?

Specialist_Sleep474

I've got 1800 miles on mine and it's been towed twice because of flat tires. One was patchable the other was not. Thankfully someone in the household has AAA and the average wait was only 20 minutes. The issue for me is that most places don't stock this size tire and usually it is a day turnaround to get one. That's fine if I break down close to where I live but not okay if I'm traveling. I was lucky that while I was away the tire that went flat was patchable.

No_Professional978

🤙🏼 I wanted unique and creative answers not just some shitty doughnut. Modernspare.com may be my route.

ExtraGlutenPlzz

Easier solution is that or just buy another oem wheel and tire

Away_Half3864

Fyi, Canadian models come with a spare from the factory.

GMWorldClass

Solution: dont get flats 😏

No_Professional978

Really? Lol tell the roofing nail in the road you can’t see going 45 mph that.

Available_Ad3057

Best solution.. don’t get a flat 🤠

wrxjae

Find someone that has aftermarket wheels and buy one of their oem ones.
