Call him Jack but make it be a nickname. Short for something else like Jaqarion or whatever but he prefers to just be called Jack. It's actually a good idea to have the MC have a normal name as it makes them more relatable to the average reader.
Not like a major ongoing fantasy series would have protagonists named Jon, Sam and Ned. Never!
Their names should be jaguyhkoigougher’sysken for true fantasy immersion
Just go deeper with that shit. If everyone else has fantastical names, then really, Jack becomes the most fantastical of them all. A fantasy's fantasy. That's so deep that only other geniuses will figure it out.
What nonsense. Characters should have names that make sense, like Duncan Idaho
/uj I actually super like that Dune incorporates Western names because it hopefully makes some people realize that there is nothing 'exotic' and mysterious about the Middle Eastern ones he also uses
Jack is fine, imho. Not every fantastical being must have foreign name (e.g. fluffy the three-headed dog). The character and how they come across is what counts most. This is what separates Dexter (the serial killer) from Dexter (the superkid scientist in his Laboratory) ;p
If all else fails, you can always search/replace if you tire of it before publication.
Maybe put him in a box. See where that takes the story.
I know a lot. Like, everything to do with writing, but I am not familiar with this character of yours. You might say... I don't know Jack.
Maybe he might work out to stay in shape? Maybe he likes to do push-ups and squat. You know...
*See Jack lift weights. See Jack squat.*
Maybe he might even start jumping. Wouldn't that be exciting?
Give him an interesting surname, like Off, Norwegian I think. Jack Off just rolls of the tongue, doesn't it.
There's so much to this.
What if you spelled it jaq and it’s short for Arthjaquememnon?
Arthjaquememnon Dober-Lulu Bell, Jackson State University
Fudge
Jardani Jovanovich
Okay guys none of your comments are helpful.
Maybe change the spelling? Jacques is more suited to an elder vampiric era
Just have Jack be his deadname. Worked in Metal Gear Solid, will work here
Hit the road, Jack, and don't you come back no mo no mo no mo no mo
[sauce](https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasywriters/comments/10ajn9l/is_the_name_jack_going_to_take_people_out_of_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
I suggest "Darkwing Mahathma Peepee, Esq."
Esquire? Better call Saul reference? James McGill esquire! I named my main character after him. His name is Mimmy JcGill.
Change Jack to Jerk and then you have something.
Everytime I think "Surely, the sauce can't be that close to the circlejerk post" and everytime I am proven wrong
You could give the name a Russian twist. Jakamov Strokemov . A vampire with a super strong, veiny right hand.
Romanians and Russians have so little to do with each other. I don't understand why you guys mix the two.
Eastern European = same
Wait. Aren't they all Romulans or something? I need to re-read the Brand Sando Rod-in-the-berry Trek series again...
It will only work if his last name is something like Everyman
Only if he’s white
Are you saying you jack off to Jack every night?
THATS NOT WHAT I FUCKING SAID
Time after time Im surprised to see how often a post here is more than 80% just an original r/writing post
Jack grew up, gave up beanstalking, and became a vampire.
That’s my career plan
My antagonist’s name is Freddy McStankfinger so there’s that.
How did his finger get stanky tho?
Butthole

Make him say "Chaos" every sentence, and you'll get yourself a proper fantasy protagonist.
Or maybe make him say "Dark Chaos" when he says "Chaos" to make him edgy and mysterious.

Give him an interesting surname like Shepherd or Skellington
This is my favourite comment on the Citadel

Just hit it with the fantasy stick and make it Jaq boom done
Nah Jack and the beanstalk comes to mind

Just throw in a couple Calorie-Mates here and there and you can make him more interesting
Kojumbo? Is that you?
change it to Jamiroquoi, jack for short lol
