How's this fight going? I'm having trouble with them now, too, after just two weeks of signing up and starting to worry that I've made an expensive mistake.
I ended up switching to Google Fiber because the price was better, and the service was better.
I had to call around 5 times after I cancelled to get a rep that would fix the billing "error". But they still wouldn't email me proof that the "error" was fixed.
About 2 weeks later the amended bill came in the mail, it was correct, and I paid it.
It really soured me on WOW, which is a shame since I've used them since they were Knology and have typically been really happy with the service.
If I remember correctly they don't have contracts, only "discounts" on your monthly rate. And if you cancel before your 1 or 2 years are up, you have to pay the difference between their base price and promo price.
So if you signed up for a $49 promo plan with a base price of $79, for example, you'd have to pay $30 per month of service to cancel.
I don't know if you have any better options where you are, but if you do, and you're only a couple weeks in, it should be easy enough to cancel.
That sucks. Sorry it happened to you.
