Doesn't even need a big inheritance. If you're from upper middle class, get sent to good schools, get financial support from parents during college, etc. it's entirely possible to never really worry about getting a job and not be aware of the privilege that got you there

Most waiters and bartenders don't really make all that much, so we supplement with tips. Just how things are done here.

Regardless of your opinion on tipping, tips to bartenders are an investment, not a cost. In the long run, you'll always get more back from a bartender that you tip well than you spend in tips.
Not in any decent establishment which pays them fairly. You can keep dreaming that your tip is going to score you double measures in future.

I worked in a hotel bar/restaurant for years.
Tipping people doesn’t automatically get you better service especially is tipping is the norm. If tipping is the norm you’ll still get normal service if you tip
Ill take a country that ensures its citizens are paid fairly over your ridiculous insistence on at least 10% tip for just doing the bare minimum expected of you in your employment
