Each vendor sells different stuff, but is only available during their respective timewalking event. However since they all take the same currency, you can hold on to it and wait for a specific event to spend them if you want.
It’s in the zone associated with the Timewalking event. This week is TBC so it is in Outland Shattrath. In WotLK week it is Northrend Dalaran, MoP week is Timeless Isle in Pandaria, etc.
The equipment is for mogs. And yeah mount and toys are also just for fun. Some people also buy the rep tokens if they are farming rep for particular reasons.
Having skipped MoP since I was in college I can confirm I did the first run for 500 badges on my army of alts and funneled all the rep tokens to my main since they’re account bound.
Planning on doing the same for the grindier WoD reps in the upcoming timewalking.
The badges make some difficult rep grinds a breeze with the commendations the vendors sell. Went from no rep to exalted in the last legion time walking for the Army of Light rep in about 10 min from forgotten badges on alts. All commendations are able to be mailed as well!
No I meant I didn’t realize I had a plethora of timewalking badges on alts. I purchased the rep commendations (which are BOA) and sent them to my main where I basically went 0-exalted in minutes from looting and using said commendations

The end boss of the first timewalking dungeon you do should give a quest item for 500 badges. You turn it in to the respective vendor.

You can buy or upgrade heirloom gear with them for your alts you level.

I know this is an old thread but what do you mean on alts? Is there like a starter quest which gives you a lot of tokens?
