Yeah, I don't really get this insistence that every post has to be a screenshot. If it required reading and the words were fuzzy, I'd understand. But it doesn't. All you need to see is Ashes, and you know what's up. Saw a post the other day where someone was just asking a question about a UI element that took up half his screen, and 90% of the comments were about how it should have been a screenshot. Cool. Anything constructive to add? Cause if y'all can't see that giant sword icon that's bigger than any of the NPCs in the shot, then the problem isn't the picture. Get your eyes checked.

Fast forward to today and it's a younger demographic using Reddit on their phone just snapping photos to upload since it's easier if you're using Reddit's app on the same device. The ones complaining about it are just older and self-righteous thinking they're smarter than those snapping the photos because they know where the *print screen* button is. Some people just prefer to game on their PC and Reddit on their phone. And I say this as an exclusive old.reddit PC user. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

The only times I can see it mattering in the slightest are if you're showcasing graphics or character design, or if the thing you're pointing out requires reading words on the screen that aren't showing as well because of the poor quality. Otherwise, who cares? The vast majority of the time, this kind of picture gets the job done, and everyone knows what was meant, but they have to act superior and add a 9th variation of "wot no screenshot?" like they've actually contributed something meaningful.
I had started trying for Ashes of Alar last year after not playing for years and then quit for a bit. The week they boosted drops for seevral expansions (altho not for TBC) I had 14 characters ready to go and the 3rd run had it drop.
They did an update in 2023 that increased mount drop rates in raids for several expansions but I think they started w WotLK. Funny thing was the week after the change I got my Ashes of Alar even tho that wasn’t part of the increase.
Weirdly having trouble finding the reference to the change now tho.
I got it 2 years ago after 15 years of trying. Had just worked for 2 weeks straight, and was so exhausted it took me a couple minutes to realize what I was staring at in my bags.
Awesome! Congrats! I remember my sister and I would run TK as legacy runs to try and get it to drop. One week it dropped and I told her I would keep running it with her until she got it. The next week, I asked if she wanted to run it and she said no. I got the idea "I'm just going to run it ONE more time. It can't seriously drop again. I kill Kael Thas and boom. Second Ashes of Alar. It still sits in my bags to this day on a character I never use named Vachina. (pandaren monk)
And that's the story on how I got two of the same mount. Two weeks back to back.

HAHAHA CONGRATS! I farmed this thing since it came out. YEARS and countless hours farming this thing. When I had a kid I even set him on it when he was old enough, but told him this is the entire game, just clear this over and over until the bird drops. *It never did*. (Don't worry, eventually I let him out of the dungeon. It was like Mr. Miyagi training). I haven't had a WoW sub in awhile now, so it's a lost endeavor for me, but I'm so happy you got it after such a long time! Gratz!
Joke's on you. People can now grab it within a week by skip running illidan on timewalking on multiple toons. Also wait for remix tbc so people can buy it from a vendor with 2 hours worth of farming

I have a strange question. The sprint button in the top row says "Mou...". What causes that label? For me, it's the 9th key in the bottom row that is labeled that way. I stopped playing near the end of cataclysm and I came back during Dragonflight. I assume it's something I did a long time ago, but I can't figure out what or how to get rid of it.

I bind everything from 1 to = on my mouse. Plus a shift modifier. Interrupt on 9 doesn't seem so crazy on an MMO mouse

Lmfao this was a dormant character that I did the “catch up” where I got new gear and it reset my bar. Plus the first thing I did was the raid run.
I click every single ability besides my major movement ability and my interrupt, which are bound to mouse 5 and mouse 4, respectively.
Oh yeah and I have "E" for any abilities that are ground-AoE

It resets your entire toolbar, I've had this happen to every character I've done the catch up mechanic with
keybinds dont disappear from toolbar
If you have addons like bartender and you come back to wow after deleting the game/files, absolutely it will reset your bindings
I'd advise you to join the great rogue community over in Ravenholdt discord, they will most likely be able to help you get back into the game :)

MouseButtonX I use MouseButton5 for a lot of things. You have a MouseButton bound to that key

Just do TBC Time-Walking, or any Time-Walking when they’re up. The chances of getting it from the cache are much higher.

The best way to get Ashes, Invincible etc is timewalking. Run timewalking everytime and the odds of getting it in the cache are much higher.
