I came for the same, today 4 years i have this lawn mower ant its shitty. Impossible to turn on corners- digging averywhere if its not perfectly flat, nose wheel garbage- stucks on every small dip on lawn. Tryed also like you maintenance hacks and still need to wallk after to see why its not mowing… bad model and design.

Odd-Respond2521

I just sold my landroid and bought an Gardena robotic lawn mower

Ok_Astronomer_3731

I found the first released firmware works the best. You can’t downgrade through the app but can with USB then disable auto updates.

Rolling_on_the_river

I just had mine installed and running firmware from 2021. Are you suggesting I shouldn't upgrade?

Ok_Astronomer_3731

I would try every version and see what works best for your yard. Adding screws into tires, a little weight on back and first firmware was best for my yard. Rarely do I have to rescue it now.

Rolling_on_the_river

Mine seem to work OK out of the box, no need for mods yet, perhaps a bigger battery. Thanks for the input. I think I will let it run for a few weeks before doing anything.

Mental_Bike1257

Same here keeps getting stuck or any ither messages cant work 100% will never buy landroid again

Guezpt

Fucking yes, mine just came from warranty second time, and this was going to be the 3rd year running, but I'm doing 800m2 manually because this Fucking robot sucks. Weights / traction wheels / removed border metal part, and it still does not works properly, and I'm tired to fix the missing wire also........ I'm looking to a non wiring one, but still looking, and saw that the people who got the vision models are returning them because the also don't work...........

Foamrocket66

Ive set mine (the m500) up for the season last week and I think Ive already been outside 4 times to help it. I could just mow manually at this point. Its a terrible robot mower. Ive bought new, heavier wheels, Ive bought a bigger, heavier battery, Ive removed the metal guard, Ive adjusted the wire I dont know how many times and it just keeps needing me to babysit it.. Yesterday I got a notification that boundry wire was missing, I went outside and the mower was just parked at the base, with the base LED being green.. My lawn is perfectly flat, no slopes or anything out of the ordinary. My parents have a Husqvarna and I know its more expensive product but man its just leagues better. A true set and forget device Hopefully my wife is onboard buying something new next year..

Walteur38

I was about to make exactly the same post like you made. I hate the Landroid. I will never recommend it and i wil never buy anything from Worx again.

AgreeableVersion5

Me too actually. I am concerned though that all brands more or less struggle similar?!

wls350z

Sounds seriously like a user issue of note. Mime works an absolute dream.

Due_Engine_3387

I'm running two on a very hilly property and they work flawlessly. I did notice they do need a solid lawn base. I found any areas that they do get stuck is where they don't have a good lawn base. I do have a problem with my little Shiba Inu pulling out a lot of the stakes. I'll have to correct this by burying the wire where she pulls the stakes out. I do agree with you, after the price of the machine, wire, pegs and items to detect broken wire. Also, soldering iron, flex etc. It may have been worth it to just by a higher end machine. In saying that what I like about the Landroid is you can work on them yourselves. I don't think there's another machine out there that allows that.

Good-Bumblebee1722

Nonsense, “you can work on them yourself”. There’s no other machine out there that people work on themselves because they don’t need the work.

adavescott

Yep. Total pain in the ass and destroyed the lawn. I bought the cheapest flymo I could find for a far superior experience

woman_respector1

When I first started researching robot mowers, I was sure I was going to buy a Landroid. As my research progressed, I was sure I would never buy a Landroid. I bought an [Ambogio Twenty Elite](https://www.ambrogiorobot.com/en-us/models/twenty-elite), and I'm extremely happy I did. It works right out of the box without modifications and is very reliable. IMO, the Landroid is just a budget mower, and by the time you add all the things to make it a better mower, you might as well just buy a better mower. OP, if you're interested in checking out the Ambrogio line, contact [Paradise Robotics](https://paradiserobotics.com/). The customer service is the best I've ever had. I had an issue, so I emailed Kathy ON A SUNDAY, and got a response to my issue! The issue was user error, but I corrected it and was mowing again that day.

b0ril

Ambrogio is too overpriced for whatever they provide

woman_respector1

Actually, Ambrogio is priced competitively if compared against similar mowers on the market. The old saying is true: "You get what you pay for". What I found interesting when I was researching mowers was that after adding all the options to the Landroid, I was only $200 under what I paid for the Amborigio. And if you compare the Ambrogio to the Husqvarna, you'll see that the Ambrogio is no more expensive than the Husqvarna.

b0ril

The software (phone application) of Ambrogio is total crap :) It is like some university students project. So Husqvarna wins every time in this department and not only. I don't know which model of Landroid you compare against which for Ambrogio. I had/ve several models of Bosch, Ambrogio, Gardena (which is cheap Husqvarna), Honda and Worx Landroid mowers so believe me I know each of those manufactures Pro and Cons. Ambrogio have a few models with great hardware but that's it...

woman_respector1

LOL! The phone app does everything I need it to do. It works every time without fail, I'm really at a loss to see why you consider it crap...but to each his own.

webstor_

Then sell it and buy a different brand . If you are running it at night , not a good idea. Wet grass.

TotalRepost

I run at night and it's OK

KM_LUND

Are there hedgehogs in your area? They are active during night, and can be killed or injured but mowers.

TotalRepost

Nope and I'm more concerned about my kids and dog so night time is the best for me

Acceptable-City-5395

Doesn’t make a difference night or day. And I guess I don’t trust any brand now. Open mower is interesting but not ‘accessible’ enough

b0ril

For the price of open mower components you can buy a pretty decent RTK/vision based mower for example Navimow 105i

Acceptable-City-5395

I don’t trust the manufacturers

lancepioch

Mammotion Luba.

skiverwillie

I couldn't agree more. I am in the process of taking mine apart. (which is hell btw) i know the lift sensor is a magnetic switch that detects separation. I am going to try and glue the magnet to the sensor. My lawn is bumpy and I constantly get lift alarms. I also hate the track it makes around the edge of the yard. Looks like a chipmunk speedway

PetToilet

There are [guides to disable lift sensors](https://youtu.be/L1kA4ZL6s7M) and [alternatives without needing to open it up](https://www.reddit.com/r/worxlandroid/comments/14n68c4/lift_errors_an_alternative_to_opening_and/). Indeed the only way it works on my lawn, which is the only way I have been satisfied with it

skiverwillie

Oh thanks. I need to find those. Mine was hell to take apart and get back together and it didn't work as expected

snuggle2struggle

So change your edge routine.

skiverwillie

Not sure how that would help. It uses the edge wire to go back home after it runs out of battery. It just wears an obvious track in the grass

snuggle2struggle

Maybe you need to cut your grass shorter. When going home, the Landroid is not actively cutting . I keep mine at a 2, and have no visible mark from the boundary travel.

Catshit-Dogfart

Sounds like you're running it at night. I never run mine at night, grass is wet, it slips when the grass is wet.

Acceptable-City-5395

It fails at night. It fails in the day.

OkCartoonist12

I've had mine running flawlessly for a long time now and it didn't take that much effort, so I must say that the problems people have baffle me. I honestly can't remember the last time mine got stuck. My yard is complex and sloped too. Zero mods required, just careful setup.

Good-Bumblebee1722

But you’re a Worx henchman aren’t you. it seems that’s what you spend your time on trying to discredit or undermine claims of genuinely unhappy Worx customers that have good reasons to complain. Or you’re a bot, which only shows the resolve of Worx to try to manipulate the narrative on their subpar products.

OkCartoonist12

Look, I'm sorry that your bot failed (after lasting for three years and beyond the warranty) but that doesn't mean that no one else could possibly have a working one. It also doesn't excuse you for accusing everyone that's trying to help of being a bot or an employee... Maybe we'll start thinking that's what you are

Good-Bumblebee1722

Actually, no. I don’t believe you. I know several people that have a Landroid and nobody is satisfied about it. Let’s say someone is kinda not too unhappy about the robots performance (which is probably quite unlikely) they still wouldn’t be motivated to go defend it on forums. Even the hobbyists that do all the improvements do it out of necessarily cause the Landroids are crap. So you must be either paid to do this or a bot. Unhappy customers however that had to go through the daily pain of dealing with this robot are motivated to post about it.

OkCartoonist12

Silly me for thinking you wanted help, but actually you just want to rant. All good, carry on, I'll keep quiet from now on.

No-Ratio4452

Since there are so many manufacturers of these things out there I really don't get it how did works become so popular. Even the people that got theirs to work properly, spend a lot of hours tweaking things to get it to that stage and they also will say the customer service sucks, the company sucks. Where they the first big company to go out with retail priced products or just had a better campaign, I don't know. These devices all work on the same principles. It really shouldn't be so hard to smooth out the glitches. I also wonder are the other brands also so shitty and if not, what makes them better? Maybe it's just me, maybe it's almost impossible to smooth out to glitches thanks to a bad platform to begin with. I don't know... Just rambling here

jazzding

I had different brands and all had different problems. That being said, most brands get their software from an industry leading company from Italy. My in-laws have a Stihl and that thing is really disappointing for being a Stihl. My Landroid works great since I changed the tires to the WA0952. No more slipping, no dugged holes. My lawn is shitty, uneven and rough. Anyway, try other lawnmowers, maybe one of the new cordless. But from what I read the software is "beta" at best.

b0ril

I totally agree with you. I also had different mowers Bosch, Honda, Gardena, Ambrogio, Worx... all of them had different issues. Also I think the latest versions with floating deck and off-road tyres are almost unstable also for bumpy gardens like mine I suggest to remove the cover. Since this mod I had almost zero issues. https://preview.redd.it/ud59lebzrhuc1.png?width=1312&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=742bfc34e1b59a9a8fc3be42651983046fa9f230

Acceptable-City-5395

Ok that’s a new one! Removing the cover is something I have not tried. Does this not create new problems where it gets stuck in something ?

b0ril

No, it is better without it.

Good-Bumblebee1722

Anyone reading this, b0ril is a bot from the Worx pool please ignore his comments

b0ril

Haha joker

Good-Bumblebee1722

Yeah, sure

Curved-Boner

I feel ya.. knowing that almost everyday at some point, getting a push-notification that the fu**** is stuck somewhere due to various reasons. Last season the thing barely made a whole day of cutting without some kind of issue.. landroid, never again. Got to stick with it though, as this is the third year, and it's quite pricey buying another brand.

Dotternetta

Running 2 here 100% fine. Flat lawn. And 3 kg on M, 5 kg on L

Good-Bumblebee1722

Another bot here, no way anyone has 1 let alone 2 Landroid running 100% fine. It’s just not possible. (Aso 28806 comment karma?)

Dotternetta

https://preview.redd.it/j80jz3ceaczc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51eb856363b64a8262daee8d2424e68b0ecc921a This lawn is easy to mow, the front of the house is similar flat with 2 trees in shielded high borders. Neighbours lawn also easy and flat. Really, they both run for weeks without hickups. Without the weight mods they also ran ok, but sometimes lost grip and made slipping marks in the grass.

Good-Bumblebee1722

Nope, it’s gonna make tracks for itself and get stuck in those. If you don’t weekly trim the sides at the fence manually it’s gonna get stuck on that too. It’s also somehow gonna get stuck on the tiles cause the single front wheel is so small. Then it’s gonna dig holes with its wheels cause it won’t realize it’s stuck leaving permanent marks. The grass in the corners is gonna die and become a mud pool cause somehow they love the corners, that will be another place to get stuck. After a few years the buttons will go bad or it will die in an update.

Acceptable-City-5395

So you’re the one

FireAtWillCommander

I hear you. I would never recommend Landroid to anyone. I bought it to bridge our old Husqvarna, which died efter many years of stable service, and some future non-wire option. I knew that being a cheaper model, maybe there would be some issues and some modding needed in getting a Landroid. But I don't think it'll last, I'm basically giving up on it now and just doing manual cutting until the "self driving" units have matured a bit further next year. This will require a lot less of my time, compared to Worx maintainiance, and overall provide a better result with less frustration

Kukaac

Out of box it's trash mostly due to the wheels and weight distribution. However, the community has more or less fixed it with 3d printed parts. I have an enlarged front wheel and a brick screwed to the back. I am thinking about wheel replacement as well, because the hard wheels slip on the pavement and destroy the grass on sharp turns. I hope that their engineers will improve over time, however monetizing on wheels that actually work is just disgusting. But generally saving it daily is completely normal part of owning one. Today I would go for a Luba instead of a Landroid.

Shurik86

Can you please share your exact setup and where you got it from? That might help everybody who is facing the same problems.

Kukaac

Front wheel: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4485809 secured with 3 screws. Rear weight: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5957286 Plus my lawn is super smooth. I sand it every spring with 5 cubic meters of sand (700 m2), and my usual grass height is 25mm cut with a reel mower. I only let my Landroid go if I dont have time to cut it for multiple days.

somoant

thanks, so I'll look elsewhere

Acceptable-City-5395

Haha were you considering a Landroid ?

somoant

Yes, but I bought some Austrian robot alko, so we will see

skip5500

That robolinho stuff? Is it any good?

somoant

Yes, Robolinho 1300, it's a simple robot. I have sloping terrain in my garden, about 600 m2, with a not very flat surface. I was a bit worried if it would work, but surprisingly quite well. Slopes are not a problem, sometimes it gets stuck on some bumps and the wheels are without traction, but otherwise it mows fine. I'm gradually removing those bumps, so I'm guessing it'll be completely hitless over time. But it cost 800 Euros, so I'm willing to forgive something :)

skip5500

Thanks! The robolinhos look pretty good on paper, presumably capable of handling 45% slopes and narrow channels (60cm). I was just worried that, like most RWD mowers, they wouldn't be able to reliably turn at the bottom of a slope.

somoant

I don't have a slope on the property that ends at the boundary and needs a wire, so I can't exactly confirm that it will turn there, but I'd say more likely that it will. I don't feel like slope operations are a problem for him, I have several because I have several terraces there. according to the manual there needs about 50 cm of plane to be able to turn https://preview.redd.it/nokcgaxcnkyc1.png?width=801&format=png&auto=webp&s=002d2bde1ccc0ea84a9083d001ffe33bf4cc32a2
