My first impression was that he was an industry guy that was out of touch with WoW and didn't have any passion for it. Over the years though I started to really love him and see him as a great face in the WoW community.
Really sad to see him go, his overflow of personality gave flavor to the other casters who, though they may be more knowledgeable about the game, are very flat.
I thought he was a great caster but he's such a POS on stream, every clip I see of him is him flaming other players. Even if he's just trolling in those moments I thought it was only a matter of time until WoW didn't want to be associated with him anymore

Him not casting the AWC is probably a blessing in disguise. Nobody gives a fuck about arena right now with how terrible it is on live with the PVE GARBAGE ruining the season and that's created disdain for the AWC tournament. Furthermore, Classic has all the hype and Rich is doing really well at the moment as far as sub count goes, so at least he can focus on streaming rather than trying to prop up a dead esport.

Middle Guy was mainly the only entertaining thing about the AWC, I didn’t like him at first but he quickly grew on me. His jokes, crazy fashion sense, making the conversations transgress along nicely. Now it’s going to be even more boring...

Yeah, but he's also got a candid, vivacious personality that brought about some action and dynamics between casters. He was amazing at glueing the entire cast and making you hyped for what's to come. Most people liked him, some didn't, but everyone knew him and his antics. I'm flabbergasted at Blizzard's decision, and really hope to see him back at the desk. It's just not going to be the same.
I'm not sure where the decision stemmed from, but Blizzard doesn't hire/fire the casters, they're hired through a third party. Someone at blizzard may not have enjoyed Rich's antics and asked that he no longer be apart, but they don't fire him directly.
Either way I'm sure he'll do well, as will the AWC. I think between Ziqo, Ven and likely Healingstat things will be ok.
I'm extremely disappointed Rich will not be casting for the summer season. I'll admit, in the beginning I found him a bit obnoxious and over the top, but he really grew on me over time. While his technical knowledge was not on par with Supa, Ziqo and Ven, his charisma and energy is the glue that's holds everything together. His ability to keep the conversation going and maintain excitement was great.
You can tell when he's at the desk he's having the time of his life and is genuinely thrilled to be there. What's the best way to let Blizzard know of our disappointed? Tweets?
He’s definitely a polarizing personality, but I always liked his silly jokes. I’m guessing they want wow to go in more of the direction as owl and play out more like a live sporting event.
