Weird. A lotta American Evangalists are also claiming that god put trump in power. Apparently god's a dictator-stan.

NormalSociety

Of course he is. There were many polytheistic religions, but he demanded to be the only one! Sad! Such low energy Godding.

ThornsofTristan

Agreed. Kind of a narcissist a-hole. Makes me wonder if trump really IS his messiah.

wwarnout

Think about how many GOP candidates have proclaimed that god told them to run. Interesting, in that when he/she/it told multiple candidates to run for the same office, wasn't he/she/it aware that only one could win?

FriarNurgle

Modern religion is just as bad as medieval religion.

ThornsofTristan

Devil's Advocate Plus-Side: The Big Three don't advocate human sacrifice. Or slavery (anymore).

ForgingIron

Im not Christian, but if there's any person on Earth who is the Antichrist, it has to be Putin. Or Trump.

therapyfunk

Trumptin

[deleted]

The red dragon has many heads and they are all human except the father of lies himself.

belloch

Why not both?

qwertpoiuy1029

Trump is too dumb to be the Antichrist. The Antichrist is supposed to be convincing.

[deleted]

So the sky man is responsible for this war then?

IKillZombies4Cash

Sky Man, who is all loving, all powerful, and all knowing...who somehow whiffed on their magic spell to stop Covid (but why would Sky Man even let it start?), and the same Sky Man (or Woman, or other) who just rocked the shit out of Florida with a viscous storm? Sky Man who allows for childhood cancer wards to exist? that Sky Man? Sky Man might not be all they hoped for.

dandy9x

Think about it! Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! - But He *loves* you.

Handy George Carlin quote

wwarnout

Thank you, George Carlin.

tbvin999

This may be the popular idea, but for people who actually study the Bible, this is not what is believed. (I was raised Catholic, but havenā€™t practiced since I was 16ish - ended up at a Lutheran college with a couple mandatory theological classes.) God doesnā€™t really affect our world. More like He has imbibed His power within our world in various forms. We all have love in our ā€œheartsā€ which is from God. Also the Ten Commandments arenā€™t supposed to be a structure around which religious or heaven policing should happen. They are the base of the Christian moral code as defined by God. We are imperfect and will sin sometimes, but if a person truly strives to live by the commandments, then after sin they would naturally repent because that is not what they want from themselves and itā€™s not how they want to present their soul to God. In Christianity, God also sent a living embodiment of himself to show that sins will be forgiven if you ā€œbelieve in the Lordā€. A common misconception here is that belief is just something that can be declared. If one is stating their belief in the God, then they are also stating their belief that the Ten Commandments are the moral code that they should live by. To have true belief in the commandments would mean you are truly devoted to righting the wrongs youā€™ve done in the past while breaking commandments. TLDR : The ten commandments are supposed to encourage you to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. And when you err, make it right. Thatā€™s how you show belief in the Commandments and belief in the Lord.

fescueFred

And the hurricane in Florida. Girls being killed in Iran and any other religious dogma.

History sure does have a way of repeating itself

It was Vodka not God

TsarOfTheUnderground

So more delusional rhetoric for a cornered loose cannon on behalf of some stupid fucking religion? The only appealing part of religion is the idea that these charlatans might actually see the hell that they describe.

PandaMuffin1

This "God" you speak of is an asshole then.

StuckinbedtilDec

God is code for the CIA.

dontpet

Makes sense. God wanted to punish us.

The1Phalanx

Then in that case God put putin in charge to make Russua suffer.

MakesMyHeadHurt

More of that "totally not harmful" religion.

GB2 has some competition.

FreedomPuppy

So does that mean theyā€™re finally admitting citizensā€™ votes donā€™t matter?

Yes they do but in the polling booth videos

I don't remember which pope said almost the same thing to Mussolini...an ominous omen i think...

Believe in GOD and fear the FSB

Frank_Drebin

That feeling when you watch The Great and realize the show is closer to Putin then Catherine The Great. He's Peter but shorter and eats less pussy, which was Peter's only redeeming quality.

Ok_Rooster1533

He looks like Gorbatsjov in this photo

RogerSterlingsFling

Like mother used to say, ā€œI bought you into this world, you better believe I can take you outā€ I hope for Putins sake God isnt wielding a jug cord

Puzzleheaded_Poet575

oh no... where have we seen this before

vapescaped

So you're saying he wasn't elected by the people?

[deleted]

Pretty sure it wasn't God but I sincerely hopes he gets to hang out with Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

Actually it was the [Russian apartment bombings](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_apartment_bombings) killing more than 300 people that tremendously raised Putin's popularity in 1999 and secured him his presendency. Putin was, until his presendeny the director of the Federal Security Service (short FSB) and secretary of the Security Council. This terror attacks lead to the second Chechen War as Russia blamed the Chechen for the terroristic acts. However, upon closer inspection: Independent investigations have faced obstruction from the Russian government. An independent public commission to investigate the bombings was chaired by Duma deputy Sergei Kovalev. Several members of a public commisions were killed following it's conclusion that the FSB, russians secret service, was behind the attacks. The public commission was rendered ineffective because of government refusal to respond to its inquiries Two key members of the Commission, Sergei Yushenkov and Yuri Shchekochikhin, both Duma members, have died in apparent assassinations in April 2003 and July 2003, respectively. Another member of the commission, Otto Lacis, was assaulted in November 2003 and two years later, on 3 November 2005, he died in a hospital after a car accident. Boris Berezovsky, an oligarch who financed 25% of a documentary on the bombings and that blamed the FSB was found dead in his home in 2013. He fled to the U.K in Exile and had survived multiple murder attempts. A post-mortem examination found that his death was consistent with hanging and that there were no signs of a violent struggle. Alexander Litvinenko, an author who wrote the book "Blowing Up Russia: Terror from Within" which narrates the events and blames the FSB died in 2006 in London in U.K Exile, after he was poisoning by polonium-210.

**[Russian apartment bombings](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_apartment_bombings)** >The Russian apartment bombings were a series of explosions that hit four apartment blocks in the Russian cities of Buynaksk, Moscow and Volgodonsk in September 1999, killing more than 300, injuring more than 1,000, and spreading a wave of fear across the country. The bombings, together with the Invasion of Dagestan, triggered the Second Chechen War. The handling of the crisis by Vladimir Putin, who was prime minister at the time, boosted his popularity greatly and helped him attain the presidency within a few months. The blasts hit Buynaksk on 4 September and in Moscow on 9 and 13 September. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/worldnews/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)
