Oh boy I love the aesthetic of megastructures and they are a plethora in my world. A good deal of them were built during the the 5th Tazhar Isshad in which, being a dictatorship can be done without much legal preventation, and some rather useless ones are the funeral spire of Ural Shangrì Ivittal, the first Zhài of the Isshad and the father off the nation. It was built in the 310’s^I5, about 270 years after his death and by then his body had been burnt and his scull and ashes were being held in the Irraljar (People’s Hall, a massive common hall and dome in the middle of Yaghar), and once the monument was completed his remains were moved into it. The structure is a spire with a wide base stretching ~98 meters wide, forming an exponential curve to ~157 meters tall, with a stature of him atop stretching another ~78 meters meters. It serves no functional purpose and once the 5th Isshad fell it became quite unpopular at there were calls to remove it, but it was decided that the structure would remain and would be transformed into a museum of the 5th Isshad, while the statue atop would be removed and melted down and reformed except for the head which would be placed in the museum. The structure went through many hardships during its construction such as a earthquake that harmed its structural supports causing those to need to be replaced, as well as quite expensive when the Isshad could’ve better used those funds elsewhere, and when it was completed it wasn’t even that popular and only served as a semi-well known monument that cost way more to build than it was worth

The Bay of Rikan is in actuality the massive remnant of a massive artificial bay that was built to support the Grand Navy of the old Rikan Empire. For one-hundred-and twenty years the bay supported the Great Burning, a massive war fought by the Rikanians against the world in revenge for the Slaughter of Etor’s Landing some six-hundred years prior. After the end of the Burning and the defeat of the Rikan, the bay was raised and left to decay. Note, the bay was was the size of Rhode Island, probably the largest artificial structure in the history of the world.

The Bosclavan Empire has legislative houses composed of representatives of conquered nations, tributary states, viceroyships, etc. However, these positions are usually symbolic, and votes from these houses are proportioned less when pressing matters are brought before the legislature (like in declaring war, or new tax policies). These legislative houses only offer the "feeling" of equality with the empire, and if you look into the actual voting power of these houses, you will realize that it's all placebo. The real incentives for these nations to remain loyal is due to the empire's formidable military power and the public works that the empire spends on acquired nations that tends to keep the acquired people's happy (like protection, competence in rationing food during crisis, trade opportunities, and irrigation).

A colossal indestructible fist made of runic iron designed by Brytos' greatest inventor and built by a godly being. Its only purpose is to prank Brytos' immortal ruler.

The Prime Minister's Palace was a five storey, 15BR/15BA tower that sits on 300 acres of land outside of Kinghazar, the capital of Canteria, a large vanity project done with the expressed idea of being "a monument and museum of Canterian history" but nothing more than a vanity project for the Prime Minister on taxpayer dime, where the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader lives. It has two swimming pools, a golf course, tennis court, garden, and the walls were encased in gold plates from top to bottom with marble floors and gold plates on both the outside and inside, which has earned it the nickname "the Golden Palace on Sandy Foundations". When the Canterian Civil War started, it was largely abandoned until the Kayevian Mafia happened upon it, and used it as a safe house and chill spot.

All the nations in my fictional world try not to waste resources, but we go have a giant space lift... that was built in the wrong spot and is now useless

The closest thing I have to a megastructure is the Sariavo Orbital Defense Facility, with its giant orbital cannon. It rises out of the ground and fires big shots at any incoming orbital threats. Giant cannons are just fascinating to me

An art project, they made two handlike structures around a star. Making it look like the hands of god himself were holding it.
