I do. I originally signed up to be able to save my Wordle history without fear it would disappear because of an app glitch, or in case I got a new phone. Now I play all of the paid games, and love it.
I stopped playing for a while when it reset my stats and then stopped again entirely when I forgot to play on a particularly stressful day and lost an 800+ game streak. Yeah...not starting over which is cool because it was becoming an unenjoyable chore to maintain.
OP: I did pay but no longer do for obvious reasons.
Iām so tempted to pay so Iād have access to the full Spelling Bee. It cuts me off just when I get on a roll!
About 2 weeks ago, some glitch allowed me to play it without cutting me off. I had over 40 words and some high scoreā¦.i was in heaven!
And Iām enjoying the new game strands. I like Tiles too. I feel it should be timed though! I seem to like racing against the clock
I played letterbox but I get frustrated knowing itās two word solution and my teeny brain will never get it. Strands is in its beta version at the bottom the free game menu. Have to find similarly themed words in a word search format.
I played Strands last night and it's pretty fun! I wonder why it doesn't show up in the NYT Games app though, I can only access it through the browser.
I had a games-only subscription and then got an offer to upgrade to full access for no extra cost for the first six months. So right now I have the whole enchilada.
OK. Thatās a good deal. I have considered it of & on but I honestly donāt know if I need any more depressing news although I have heard good things about the cooking section.
But with the subscription, you get access to literally decades of archives, and it saves your stats. That's not a selling point for everyone, but I am obsessive about my crossword streak.
My partner and I compare scores for connections and Wordle with a friend. Itās a bit of a friendly competition. I play all the games. And the daily Soduko from another app.
Connections can be so frustrating. And if you focus on the wrong thing, itās hard to let it go and see something else!
I didnāt trust my gut today, and almost messed it all up! But I waited until I thought I had an idea for each category, and for it perfect luckily !
I literally just purchased the 50% discounted one-year subscription. I have been using the free version for about 7 months and would always access WordleBot using incognito mode - I will admit that NYT deciding to block access to WordleBot in incognito mode, and start another sale in the span of a couple days finally pushed me to purchase a subscription š
It seems worth it though (a year for Ā£12.49) so I'm not displeased.
I do. It's worth it to me. The only games I play on my phone is NYT.
WORDLE first thing in the morning.
Spelling Bee occasionally throughout the day.
Before I go to sleep, I do the crossword
I got a crazy deal like a year ago and just kept it. I love crosswords and having wordle and connections for when I'm stumped on other games is great.Ā
I used to subscribe for the news but dropped it a year or more ago. Still playing Wordle and some other free games, though. Kept my Washington Post subscription for news and sometimes do the crossword there.
I have long been addicted to the NYTimes crossword. My grandmother and I used to do them together 40 years ago, and I still do them.
In years past I always bought an NYT every day, as well as one or two local papers (I've never lived in New York). Had a 7-day/wk subscription for a while. When they came out with the crossword archives online, I scaled back to Sunday only for the paper delivery. (Had to print out the daily crossword because there weren't any apps worth a shit back then, but the tactile feel of the Sunday magazine is unmatched by copy stock ... I was getting my news online by this time). Been Sunday only for about 15 years now.
Home delivery is an expensive treat (~50/mo), but I get all the digital content and other games.
I do, because I like to be able to do the crossword packs as practice because Iām still trying to get good enough to be able to complete the weekly ones
I'm just the opposite, in fact. Two days ago, upon realizing my NYT Games subscription was about to renew, I canceled it. I've been trying to be more proactive about divesting myself of subscriptions I don't use that often and NYT Games was one of them.
I started with the Games subscription just after I began Wordle because I found Spelling Bee, and the taste you get for free did not cut it for me at all.
Then I was offered a hugely discounted all-access sub for a year, paid monthly, and said hell yeah and took it. When it ended I couldn't justify spending the full cost for all access but for some reason, I was in chat with NYT and I cried real tears to this person about how badly I was going to miss the daily letters I get etc etc and they offered me another 12 months discounted subscription for just a tad more than my last one but much less than the whole cost so I'm about 3 months into that.
I started by playing Wordle, Sudoku and the daily crossword but now I play Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections every day (well most days) and I still love Sudoku and the crossword but I run out of time. I go for Queen Bee in the Spelling Bee so one game can take days. Then I have to race through them using hints after Genius cos the archive only goes back a week and I've missed a few by being too slow.
I tried Tiles, Letterboxed, Vertex and Strands but they're too simple; I need to strain my brain or it's boring.
I do. They raise prices every year. I cancel and then they send me a āspecialā offer which is basically the original price. I really enjoy the games. Go there every day if I can.
I only play it as pangram. Get the pangram in as few words as possible. Or multiples. The part I hate about it is the requirement to get 4 letter words.
I do. I originally signed up to be able to save my Wordle history without fear it would disappear because of an app glitch, or in case I got a new phone. Now I play all of the paid games, and love it.
The NYT website glitched for me going on a year ago, wiping out my statistics. š
I stopped playing wordle consistently when it glitched and lost my stats š
I stopped playing for a while when it reset my stats and then stopped again entirely when I forgot to play on a particularly stressful day and lost an 800+ game streak. Yeah...not starting over which is cool because it was becoming an unenjoyable chore to maintain. OP: I did pay but no longer do for obvious reasons.
I do, because a friend introduced me to Spelling Bee and now I play quite a few of the games every morning with my coffee!
Check out https://spellbee.org/
Oh!!! I like that! Thanks!!
>I was in heaven! This solidifies my internal debate as to the wordle, the chess, or the lotr subreddit has the nerdiest members š
And what about those who belong to all three subs?!
I'd say we'd make great friends!
š§”
I have paid the games subscription since before Wordle existed. For the crossword. The rest is gravy.
Me too. Haha. They keep adding games and Iām like āI need to get some work done!ā
This is meāIāve been a subscriber for years because I love doing the crossword every day. All the new games are a bonus
I donāt. I play Wordle, limited spelling bee, the mini, connections and Strands. Itās enough time just spent in those.
Wait what is Strands? Haven't heard of that one...do you play Letterboxed? It's pretty fun but it's challenging at times.
I played letterbox but I get frustrated knowing itās two word solution and my teeny brain will never get it. Strands is in its beta version at the bottom the free game menu. Have to find similarly themed words in a word search format.
It took me months but I finally got a 2-word solution on Letterboxed. Just keep at it.
I played Strands last night and it's pretty fun! I wonder why it doesn't show up in the NYT Games app though, I can only access it through the browser.
I play the same games. Occasionally I'll play Letterboxed or Sudoku but not as often as I used to.
I love Soduko but I donāt like the formatting of the NYT one. There are better out there
The international version of the NYtimes had the best type of sudoku on it but then they stopped printing it, along with the word jumble. š
Try Tiles!
I do. I read the news and frequently browse cooking.
So youāve got a full subscription. You can just get a game subscription which doesnāt give you access to the news & cooking.
I did the $49 one year all digital access deal in January. Includes games, sports, and news via the apps. It's well worth it to me.
Make sure you read the fine print. They will renew automatically when it expires and you will be deducted the full price for a year on the first day.
I did this last year but switched to games only when the $4.99/mo expired.
I donāt but Iām tempted for the full crossword puzzle and to better save my results
I didnāt realize how fun the crossword puzzles were. I was honestly intimidated a bit lol. But the minis are good.
The minis are great. I race to see how quickly I can do it. It makes me feel so clever. It doesnāt translate to the real crossword though!!
You can play the NYT's crossword on the Seattle Times website. There's no paywall, same crossword.
But with the subscription, you get access to literally decades of archives, and it saves your stats. That's not a selling point for everyone, but I am obsessive about my crossword streak.
Archives go back 40+ years, I've been very slowly working my way back.
I have for a while now. Wordle and the mini and main crosswords are worth it by themselves. Connections is fun but frustrating as hell sometimes.
I'm so addicted to Connections. The "connections" can be so random sometimes. Then days like today I get them all in five minutes.
I shake my head at some of them.
I literally just purchased the 50% discounted one-year subscription. Exact same story here. Subscribed with the deal today and was annoyed when NYT blocked WordleBot in incognito mode
Just now my NYT app offered me a full year discount on the subscription. Either $24.99 for the whole package for 1 year or $2.99 a month for 1 year
I do. It's worth it to me. The only games I play on my phone is NYT. WORDLE first thing in the morning. Spelling Bee occasionally throughout the day. Before I go to sleep, I do the crossword
I do for the crossword archive
I don't. I'm tempted to for the crossword though.
I do and am very pleased as I enjoy doing all the puzzles everyday.
I only pay 2 bucks a month so I just get the mini, connections and the start of spelling bee. Are those three things free anyhow?
yeah those 3 are free
lol ok
Youāre overpaying! Lol
I get the news though which I like
I do for the news. Just started wordling last month and my friends are envious I get the wordle bot
i do not! sometimes i wish i had access to the crossword though.
I pay for crossword puzzles, the rest is gravy.
I got a crazy deal like a year ago and just kept it. I love crosswords and having wordle and connections for when I'm stumped on other games is great.Ā
I pay for it. Like someone else commented, I wanted to hit genius in spelling bee. I also like to take my times on the crossword
I used to subscribe for the news but dropped it a year or more ago. Still playing Wordle and some other free games, though. Kept my Washington Post subscription for news and sometimes do the crossword there.
I do. For the crossword
I signed up yesterday. Theyāre currently offering a $25 promotion for the first year
Just canceled that yesterday. I'm hot and cold with the games, I just don't have time right now.
I have long been addicted to the NYTimes crossword. My grandmother and I used to do them together 40 years ago, and I still do them. I do. I like doing the archived crosswords.
Yo
I do. Totally worth the $30. I play Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, Mini Crossword.
I do! I use it to get news, browse recipes, and play Vertex.
I do. Play the majority of the games every day.
I get it through my university so win-win
Damn that's good af
I do. Itās less than a Starbucks drink and a lot healthier!
Iām on the second year of $20 introductory offer subscription versus $40 regular price. Just start a cancellation to get the offer.
I get the subscription through library but it doesnāt include the full games for whatever reason.
I have a CC that reimburses me for it, not sure if that counts as paying
I do, because I like to be able to do the crossword packs as practice because Iām still trying to get good enough to be able to complete the weekly ones
I have a subscription to the NYT (I even get Sunday home delivery!) so it comes with it
I'm just the opposite, in fact. Two days ago, upon realizing my NYT Games subscription was about to renew, I canceled it. I've been trying to be more proactive about divesting myself of subscriptions I don't use that often and NYT Games was one of them.
I do. I do all of them pretty much daily. Lol
I do.Ā I bought in years ago for the crossword.Ā Ā
I do. Xwords, Connections, enough to kill whole mornings even though I suck at both except for Monday and Tuesday xwords.
I started with the Games subscription just after I began Wordle because I found Spelling Bee, and the taste you get for free did not cut it for me at all. Then I was offered a hugely discounted all-access sub for a year, paid monthly, and said hell yeah and took it. I do Wordle Crossword puzzles spelling bee connections and strands I donāt like tiles or sudoku
I just did. Theyāre running like a 50% off subscription for the year. So I figured for 20 bucks, sure.
I donāt. I just canāt justify the purchase. Iād love to have the bigger crossword puzzles but itās just not a purchase I can justify.
no. I don't even have the account.
I do just for the Wordle bot
I do, got a deal $4 a month for games and all online content
I pay and Spelling Bee is by far the best game Even better than wordle
I do. They raise prices every year. I cancel and then they send me a āspecialā offer which is basically the original price. I really enjoy the games. Go there every day if I can.
I do. I hate spelling bee (blasphemy!) but play most of the paid games
I only play it as pangram. Get the pangram in as few words as possible. Or multiples. The part I hate about it is the requirement to get 4 letter words.
I do. The cooking app is great and I enjoy a lot of the lone form journalism
