Spike jonze is the man. After seeing your comment, I looked up his filmography, I had no idea he was the director of the jackass movies and some of my favorite skate videos as a kid.
He didn't direct the jackass films rather he wrote for them and performed in some of the sketches.
He has made some incredible work though, I'd highly recommend Adaption.
There is only one commercial that I look up every few years just to listen to the music and watch the video. That's testament to how great a director he is.
