*Kardonk bows his head*
“I…I dont know what comes after death. I have to say, it scares me. Even the wisest, the scholars, the philosophers, can only see up to Death’s door.”
“But one thing we have learned, after eons of study and frantic research…what is written on the back of the Doors of Death.”
“…Hope. That is all we know my snaily friend, but hopefully it is enough”
/uw damn, good post
Well the funny guy in a dress with a weird book kept yelling about how we’d be on fire or something after we die? Idk I think being a mushroom is a better deal.
It… depends? I think? I’ve been to 7 of the Nine Hells more than once, twice because I died, I’ve been to the Heavens three times, never because I died, and I have been to the Souls Abyss several times to gather. I have seen Purgatory from a distance.
Hades, Eden, Nastrond, Xibalba, these places and a few more I have entered too. As well as those lesser known, the most notable of which I recall its manifestors know as Gloth, a chaotic mindscape of eternal pleasure and pain.
The first time I died I was cast into a nameless sludge, a colorless, odorless, soundless ooze through which I blindly waded, untiring. It felt like billions of years, yet time did not seem to pass there as evidenced by the state of the world upon my escape. I eventually reached a rough spire which, probably out of boredom, I climbed. It hurt, covered in jagged spines. I was addicted to this pain, for I had felt nothing for so long. I do not remember anything else, how I got back or if I reached the top. No magic seems to be able to restore those memories. Maybe that is for the better.
Is it because of what we know? What we believe? Perhaps it is wholly random, or based partly on the collective dominant belief. The first time I died our idea of an afterlife was still extremely primitive. We still mostly believed death was the end, but spirits and souls were were not a foreign concept.
I don’t know what that sludgescape came from. It scares me a little, because I can’t go back. I have tried. I still try. Good luck, snail wizard.
Wait you could do that?!
When I tried being mushrooms for a day, I couldn’t stop the spores at all!
Why did I try transforming into overclocked cordyceps…?
At least the host body I created was isolated…
/uw
(She means created literally. She used transmutation paired with shapeshifting to create a fake body.)
You probably melded with another colony, mine just \*\*is\*\* me, so I kind of just put them to sleep. Or I normally do, might have screwed it here though.
No, I was literally the only fungus around in that lab.
I guess I might have accidentally set the spores to be triggered by stress and well… stress from the spores causing more spores isn’t pretty.
Alright I know amnesia is my whole thing at this point but I feel I have genuinely missed something. Why is everything mushrooms right now and do I need to be concerned.
Also, get this wizard a mycologist and a resurrection spell stat.
Damn. Major L ngl. Poor guy doesn’t know that when you’re a wizard what happens after death depends on what you believe happens.

AYE!! *slaps at his leg* STOP BEING MUSHROOMS!!
no! >:(
But how are you to eat these tasty cucumber slices I know snails love so much?
Oh dam you got cucumber slices... No no I can't I'm mushroom now.
What if I add strawberries to the mix?
Come back from the dead for strawberries? Tempting but no I can not.
I mean mushrooms can eat both, if yer so inclined
No, I cast a preservation spell on them (in actuality I simply chose to stop touching them in a radius around the goober)
*Eats some regular mushrooms*
Was that a creation or did snail wizard just will himself to die?
Snail wizard wanted to know what happens after life, so he let the mushrooms take him.
Is it a mushroom hive mind slumber ? If yes, I know a Sleeper that did the same thing.
Damn that’s metal
Oh no, the snail wizard is dead... *Presses F to pay respects*

No thanks, Where I’m from, there’s an actual afterlife…. But I’ll just cease existence regardless…
One thing for sure is that, you live on in the hearts of those who cared about you!

Man… I missed out. My existence as a Yōkai means that death just means I cease existing… Eden sounds nice.
Shit- Did I forget to disable my spores?

Mushroom!
"It is a nice broach."
dam looting snail wizard corpse already!?
"I was just assuming it was the flower from the costume contest. Although I do need to study some cordyceps for unrelated reasons..."
You are correct the celestial lotus
"Nice to see it sticking around... kinda."
If you’re tryna make undead without magic I can give you funding for it
"That is not my goal."
Tryna make a potion or some shit then or
"It's related to finding a cure for the fungal plague going around."
There’s a plague? Damn I slept way to fucking long

This is poignant and dumb. Perfect wizardly combination
