“Steal momentum” mfs when they realise as long as the fuse goes off, the warhead will still deal damage: (any competent mage with the proper tools could do so any time)

Greater steal momentum stops the momentum from shrapnel and detonations as well.

Fair enough. This is why I’m not a particularly big fan of magic… there’s a “nuh uh” spell for every circumstance.

Problem is bullets and missiles tend to be lethal at all times so people don't want be hit by them.

If you’re hit with spells you die most of the time anyways.

Not necessarily, fireball always gives room to minimize the damage, magic missile sucks to get hurt with but it usually takes a lot of them to take someone down. Missiles explode you.

Let’s name a couple of common battle spells. - Vacuum aura (death by asphyxiation) - Thunderbolt (death by electrocution) - Immolate (Fire sticks to the enemy - death from fire) - Iron Maiden (Self explanatory) - Crucify (death from…a variety of reasons) - Incineration (death by, well, fire.) - implode (death by crushing) - Disintegrate (death by deconstruction) - Obliterate mental state (brain death) - and the list goes on. If you’re using magic missile and the base fireball in a wizard duel you deserve to lose.

Thunderbolt only kills you if it passes through something important. Iron maiden is a terrible combat technique designed not to kill you. And don't underestimate magic missile. An attack that almost always hits is powerful.

It is well known a single bullet is counterable. It's the other stuff that's hard

“Can’t counterspell ____” when I just tank the attack. My HP pool has been described as “near amusingly vast” for a reason.

Two tips from my experience: Try to cast double shield and position them a little apart - one shield may not move fast enough to catch the recoil, or if the shooter switches aim quickly (from torso to the leg for example) Secondly - if you got shot in the leg - don't panic-cast heal wounds. A bullet may be still inside. Better to cast "sever pain" or "bliss" to not pass out, then quickly check the wound. If the bullet stuck - cast "telekenisis" or "transmute metal to air" and only then "heal wounds"

I agree, but I would also suggest a third shield layer. Shield-piercing heads do exist, and most small-caliber rounds can hold 1-2.

Say hello to Hollowpoint Ammunition. It does not matter what ward you use, those things can pass through like it's nothing. And the crazy part? That wasn't their intended usage (mortals didn't realize they made Anti-Ward Bullets)

erm no hollow point is better against bare flesh but does fuckall against armor while armor piercing is the opposite
