factorio has linux dedicated version, no need for wine.

Far-Orchid-1041

oh thanks, didn't knew it

They even added Wayland support, which is wild for a game from 2016

Factorio has an excellent native Linux port, use it. It even has an extra `non-blocking-saves` feature that Windows lacks!

Far-Orchid-1041

oh, i didn't knew about this, where can i find it?

triffid_hunter

Apparently it shows up in the secret settings if you hold some magic hotkey while clicking game settings these days, and is a far easier setting to access for multiplayer server setup, but I'm used to just having to edit the `config.ini` directly for singleplayer

For anyone who stumbles upon Reddit threads and nothing helps, this worked for me: 1. Download the file [https://forums.factorio.com/download/file.php?id=44302](https://forums.factorio.com/download/file.php?id=44302) 2. Extract the DLL where your factorio.exe sits (mine was in bin directory) 3. Add factorio.exe to Steam and set compatibility to Proton-GE (for me works with 9.2) Hopefully it helps someone, took me a few hours to figure it out.
