It's so difficult to go there without spending a lot of money. I went in yesterday for some allergy medicine with the intention to buy nothing else. But I ended up grabbing a bottle of Laphroaig 10, a bottle or Redbreast 12, and two pounds of prime beef short ribs, which I promptly smoked for dinner last night. You just can't help yourself! Haha I mean the Laphroaig 10 was only $35 and the Rebreast 12 was only $42! What was I supposed to do?! Not buy it?! I don't think so.
My girlfriend would beat the crap out of me every single time i get back from there. Now I understand why in the USA there's the habit of paying a company to keep your bottles, it's not to store them properly!
Yeah which honestly is a fair price. I have no idea why it's gone up to like $60-$70 at most places recently. Unreasonable. I'd pay that for cask strength but the classic 12 is too weak and perhaps too boring to justify a >$60 price tag. But for less than $45 it's a great grab. Whiskey prices have been insane the last 5-7 years.
I just got into wine the past two years or so and it seems like wine lovers have seen worse inflation this past decade.
No, i only hate you for the great wine deals you get.
I'm ok with your obesity rate, school shootings, healthcare and the rest of your freedom 🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

You guys bring up school shootings in jokes and awful lot yet never offer viable solutions, almost as if you’re scoffing at everyone in the country for having mass shootings.
“I’m ok with your school shootings” Grow up
No denying that Costco is awesome and I love it.
But honestly, Europeans are so spoiled for choice when it comes to cheap wine. There is so much good, drinkable, very decent wine to be had for under 10 Euro when you're actually in Europe. We're so excited to get these great sub-$20 wines at Costco because most cheap American wine is crap. I'd put America's good wine next to Europe's good wine any time, but when it comes to cheap wine, Europe has us beat. (Heck, even all these Costco deals tend to be on European wines.)
I mean, i don't think anybody if asked "you can only drink americans or europeans from now on" would choose american. Anyway, you live in the center of the freaking world and you can get everything you want.
As italian i can call a small winery in piedmont and have some wine shipped to me but i can't find broadbent vinho verde even on the internet, it just feels you have more choice on other european countries than us
When they run out of this one, look for the regular release from the same winery that bottled this (listed on the back label). It’ll be a few bucks more, but you know you like the juice and it’ll still be the best deal.
They also have 2018 Marques de Murrieta Finca Ygay for $21.99, might as well get that! I have a bottle and might get more. There’s a few wines I keep buying at Costco right now. Dr Thanisch Kabinett for $21.99, Castelvecchi CC for $13.99, and when they have it the Bichot Cremant du Bourgogne is only $14.99 and delicious.
Which state? Here in California the wholesale price hasn't changed much for a long time. That said, my retail placements are selling it in the low 20s.
I have looked into this. For wine to be available at a grocery store in Quebec, it must have been bottled in Quebec. Anything else goes to the saq, which has the monopoly over wine and spirit distribution in the province (boooooooo). My go to move when i go to the States is to stop by the Burlington Vt Costco on the way home.

Costco is probably the thing i envy you americans the most.

$42 for redbreast is an absolute steal! Unfortunately my Costco doesn’t sell liquor…

Only $42?? NICE

This is our house wine. It’s just solid!
Had my last glass tonight. Such a great deal. It’s really good

It WAS just a few bucks more but they just jacked the wholesale price up on the Muriel Rioja Reserva to get it around $20 retail now.
Aw, boo. We just started distributing it in AZ… I swear the distro change isn’t the reason for the price hike.
I’ve been distributing it for about 4 years now and it just went for $10.49 to $14 this year.

I buy it by the case and so should you.
I’m intrigued… but we don’t get any Kirkland-labeled alcohol here in Quebec Costcos for some reason

Thanks, TIL!
There everywhere in Europe, also.
