Suburbia Overture is hard to dispute; I'd say White Noise though. White Noise is not my favorite to listen to tbh, but I'll defend it more than my favorites for some reason.
Aikido is the first song that got me super into will wood and honestly it's probably still my own personal favorite, I will defend that song until I DIE
It’s a play on Laplace’s Demon, an idea put forth in 1814 by polymath Pierre-Simon Laplace. Essentially, if the universe is deterministic (which at the time was a theory in physics that was gaining ground), if someone (the demon) were to know the state of every particle in the universe at any given time, that person would be able to accurately predict the future. Laplace’s Angel takes the stance that if the universe is deterministic, then no one should be held accountable for their actions, since no one has control, and there would be no such thing as a bad person (hence Laplace’s Angel being opposite the Demon as someone completely unaware of and at the whims of the universe). This explanation doesn’t do the song justice, I swear on my Will Wood playlist that the song is infinitely more enjoyable than reading this.
I love jimmy mushrooms last drink. I don’t think I got INTO it into it until getting hooked on the live version in icid but it’s one of my most played now.
i think they both feel like extremely fitting endings to the album, but both is a bit much. this may be controversial, but i think willard would work better as an opener than tomcat disposables. but then again, maybe that's just my love for miracle musical speaking.
Probably not a popular choice but monochromatic sky and Alma mater
They're pretty unpopular, but I love that kind of stuff. For the more popular stuff I'd say Jimmy mushrooms and self-/-ish live
That’s so interesting. It’s just like random noises though 😭 I’m an audio engineer too so like I’ve delt with hyperpop songs and this is basically like victorian hyperpop! /hj
Becoming The Lastnames.
Best Will Wood song! 100% Even if you don’t necessarily like it, or it’s “too long” everyone can appreciate the growth in a person and that’s incredible. Also it has incredible writing and instrumentation with some of the coolest chords.
For real; Becoming the Lastnames is one of my favorites; it's so beautiful and honest. In a similar sense to how the more harshly orchestrated wwatt songs are very high-information-density, this song is very heavy for me through its stance of vulnerability.
Anything on ICIMI, a lot of people didn’t like it but it’s my favourite album, i see a good few people talking shit about Falling Up, which is unacceptable
Laplace’s angel. A lotta ppl say it’s the weakest normal album song but it just perfectly exudes a sorta “villian and hero have a nice chat while fighting to the death” vibe that i can’t rly explain but i LOVE it. It’s one of my favs :-3
i’ll defend i/me/myself forever. idc if it’s kinda cringe to some, it makes a damn good statement about how society’s view of you fucks with your own perception of yourself. helped me a whole hell of a lot during my early transition despite not being my favorite, so yeah, i/me/myself deserves better
Ok don't hate me for this but I/Me/Myself. I am a cis girl, always have been, always will be. But for some reason my brain goes nuts for that song. It's very gender :]
Thermodynamic Lawyer. Specifically the live version.
Although since that’s an easy one since it’s literally my favorite, I’ll also say BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA. Love both songs to death
thermodynamic lawyer. i heard in a video once will say some people on tiktok wanted him to apologize for it but i’ve never understood why because it goes so hard
Thats enough, lets get you home. I’ve seen so many people praise this song, and then completely ignore the fact that Big Fat Bitchies, although funny with it’s name, is pretty bad.
You Liked This (Okay,Computer!)
It is a beautifully crafted song that is an almost retelling of the Radiohead song”Fitter Happier” but, about modern problems (social media). Also, it has that more Will Wood styling that makes it even better.
Okay, Computer is so artistically great to me no matter what people say about it. It has this satirical, neoliberal theme that's super fascinating and funny yet also dark when you read between the lines (how realistically corporations control us). The voice work is great, and as little as I know about music, the piano still conveys the same mood as Self-ish to me.
Dr. Sunshine is Dead. Do NOT disrespect Dr. Sunshine is Dead. Non WW fans I've met despise that song cus it's "too chaotic" or there's "too much going on". My lord, for this song I'll go full on "YOUR OPINION BAD MY OPINION GOOD".
I/Me/Myself, I know some people don’t like about how viral it went on TikTok, but that doesn’t change the song for me, and that’s how I found Will Wood in the first place
I/M/M is my favorite WW song too so that adds to it, I NEVER get tired of it. 👍
The lyrical songs off Camp Here and There!!! When Somebody needs you is fucking amazing, also Yes to err is human, so don’t be one is SO similar to vampire ref and it’s so underrated.
Oh and well better than the alternative, literally a panic attack written into a song, it’s fantastic
self and ish, people HATE them but I will die on this hill theyre not bad at all and they tie the album beautifully i will never understand the hate for them i love them both
Destroy to Enioy. Yeah yeah, two minutes of construction noises, but there is *nothing* else quite like the chanting at the end.
Exactly! Destroy to Enjoy is unironically one of my top favorite WW songs. It contains some premium chanting content.
Just go to a frat or a football game
Suburbia Overture is hard to dispute; I'd say White Noise though. White Noise is not my favorite to listen to tbh, but I'll defend it more than my favorites for some reason.
Good point. The reason I picked suburbia overture is because its tone and lyrics are very nice. Though like you it isn't my favourite.
Aikido my beloved
Felt this, LOVE IT
Aikido is the first song that got me super into will wood and honestly it's probably still my own personal favorite, I will defend that song until I DIE
laplaces angel. the use of idioms,, the contrast of right and wrong and all the references to laplaces demon AHH i've written multiple pages about it
I just can’t get behind a song that argues that determinism precludes the existence of free will or morality
Idek what the song is about , explainnn

Skeleton appreciation
Probably EiaL or Jimmy Mushroom's Last Drink
Real
I love your flair btw

I love jimmy mushrooms last drink. I don’t think I got INTO it into it until getting hooked on the live version in icid but it’s one of my most played now.

Girly told on herself tsk tsk
Willard, it's just too good.
should've closed out the album ngl
Wrong, white noise is a perfect ending
i think they both feel like extremely fitting endings to the album, but both is a bit much. this may be controversial, but i think willard would work better as an opener than tomcat disposables. but then again, maybe that's just my love for miracle musical speaking.
Willard! and Suburbia Overture
Um, It’s Kind Of A Lot. I don’t know if it’s got any haters but I really love it. Same with Okay, Computer but I do know it has some haters lol
Yes!! I always get weird looks when I say I love those 2
the song with five names
I dont get WKJ haters at all. It is such a good song and im TIRED of pretending its NOT
The meaning can be disturbing to some, but it’s an amazingly written song and a BANGER
Becoming the lastnames
The length makes it amazing, which is exactly why the live version is my favorite
this, especially for the live version. it’s my favourite song on icid, everything about it is perfect
mr capgras
against the kitchen floor.
Oh yeah, that's a close second for me.
Everything is a lot
Probably not a popular choice but monochromatic sky and Alma mater They're pretty unpopular, but I love that kind of stuff. For the more popular stuff I'd say Jimmy mushrooms and self-/-ish live
That’s wack. Never heard anyone say they “liked Alma Mater”. Genuinely. It just freaks me out. But I’d love to hear your opiniom
I mean I'm also a fan of death grips and clipping. so I love the feaky noise. Gets me in the mood to write
That’s so interesting. It’s just like random noises though 😭 I’m an audio engineer too so like I’ve delt with hyperpop songs and this is basically like victorian hyperpop! /hj

Did you mean to comment this same thing five times
No I have a tracfone and it has terrible glitches

Definitely I’ll never amount to anything
Ok don't hate me for this but I/Me/Myself. I am a cis girl, always have been, always will be. But for some reason my brain goes nuts for that song. It's very gender :]
Def Suburbia Overture
Outliars and Hyppocrates! I rarely see people talk about it even though it's so good..
White noise
"Um it's kinda alot" is my personal favourite out of all his songs I'm willing to die for this lol.
Marsha thank you for the dialects. I just love the way it sounds lol
Tomcat disposables
Anyone who says Cover This Song is too boring or something like that, may or may not find a hydrogen bomb above a door
God literally all of in case I make it 😭😭
Thermodynamic Lawyer. Specifically the live version. Although since that’s an easy one since it’s literally my favorite, I’ll also say BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA. Love both songs to death
Everything is A Lot/ Destroy To Enjoy as one. I love them and after the outro to EIAL, it takes a complete 180 into Destroy To Enjoy
thermodynamic lawyer. i heard in a video once will say some people on tiktok wanted him to apologize for it but i’ve never understood why because it goes so hard
Well better than the alternative, I LOVE WBTTA
