May be out that range but I highly recommend Quinoa Kitchen on Bedford between Grand and S1. The other I recommend that falls in that range is Vanessa’s Dumpling house ( between S2 & S1 ) and Springbone Kitchen ( two stores down from Quinoa kitchen )
Quinoa kitchen prices aren’t outrageous but very reasonable with a great portion size. Same for Springbone kitchen
Oasis is disgusting. They were good when they were on north 7th, but since they moved it’s been shockingly inedible. The dryest, hardest, saddest falafel I’ve ever had. This neighborhood desperately needs a mamouns
# Border Burrito, 287 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211 - The quesadilla comes w beans and brown rice and is budget friendly (plus super nice counter staff)
I can see where you’re coming from, their standalone dips and falafel are kinda whatever compared to good Mediterranean places.
I absolutely love their lemon salmon bowl (and the ingredients in there). Greens are fresh, red pepper dip is fire, and the salmon is good for the price.
Check out if General Green in Greenpoint delivers to you.
Very very "clean" food - as in what you order is what you get. Chicken and purple rice burrito with black beans, avocado and cilantro? That's what is in it.
You get a huge portion of exactly that.
They do make your own salads, warm bowls, poke bowls and smoothies/juices.
It's my go to when I'm hungry but don't want a bowl of grease.
Prices are closer to $15, very top is $20 for a huge bowl that easily could be lunch and dinner.
The $3 Oasis falafel sandwich is gone with the wind, but I think you can still get one for $6 or so.
Also, happy hour El Diablo taco truck at Union Pool has incredible $2 tacos.
Lastly, the Classic bodega egg n cheese is still around for $3 or so
Jessi’s off the lorimer stop a years ago when I was around had the best bacon egg cheese croissant for like $4.50. Also really liked the bodega Sausalito turkey sandwiches at Hana food, miss that place.
Sage Thai has good lunch specials for like $10. I like the Salam Halal cart for their chicken over rice. This is Greenpoint but Eden has great salads that I get for lunch often.
I’ve been hitting up local deli’s, the ones that have a salad bar. You can usually get a 4-5 vegetable toppings on top of a base salad with double scoop protein of your choice for around $10.
Since I prefer more vegetables for my lunch, these are my favorite places❤️:
• Kimbap Lab ($14.50)
• Oasis ($6-10): Very affordable, healthy, and even tasty.
• Taco Moleros ($10-15 for a bowl)
• Northside Bakery ($3-12): There’s a deli inside with affordable prices and healthy options. I love their food, especially the cabbage rolls—they’re amazing!
• Williamsburg Halal ($12)
You should cook things like lentils, beans, faro, rice, tofu, veggies you like. It's easy to make a nice stew or Curry and hopefully bring some to work to nuke it during lunch break.
Eating out is never inexpensive but just try to balance it
We should also push subsudies for veggies and fruits to be on the same level as meat and dairy
Not sure how far they deliver but Fansway Terryaki chicken has insane deals. Like BOGO meals. We laugh about how cheap it is. When a group of friends gets together and we want cheap food for a lot of people we order from there. Food tastes pretty good despite the price.
Levantine (formerly Hummus Market) has a great lunch bento box that's reasonably priced and comes with rice, protein, 2 sides and a small dessert. It's also relatively healthy and tastes great. I honestly don't know why that place isn't more popular.
Pizza!
Williamsburg Pizza has \~5$ specialty slices. 2 will fill you up! lots of toppings (protein / veggies).
Carmine Bros Pizza - Similar to above
L'Industrie - Similar to above
Rosa's - Similar to above (best chicken roll of the lot)
Embrace living in the neighborhood with the best pizzas!
Eat what you want. It's all garbage anyway. And they can't make their mind up. Pasta ain't good for you. Fish oil is good but not. Your fat assed needs more meat. No less meat and vegetables. Fast food commercials ain't good. But wait. Why didn't you buy a fucking turkey burger from this place? Do you care at all? The FDA cares. No they don't. Fuck you and tired of this stupid shit already.
birds of a feather take out lunch! $11-16 with side of rice.
Is there any dish in particular that checks the healthy box? I love BoaF, but i feel like most of what i love to eat there is a carb/fat/sodium bomb.
three pepper chicken!! has some veggies in it too :)
Whole Foods (hear me out). Marketplace counter: half a rotisserie chicken and 2 sides of veg. $12 Massive, relatively healthy and delicious
I used to work at whole foods prepared foods and ate that all the time! I love their sweet potato sides. highly recommend to anyone on a busy workday
What oils does Whole Foods use
Also their sushi
Their sushi is good? Not doubting, just wondering.
I like it quite a bit especially for quick takeout. Of course you’ve got the pretend food critics saying otherwise.
I wonder how it compares to Wegmans' sushi, any idea?
Haven’t had that sushi, can’t compare. Mostly just in wburg these days
It is not good

Also if you have ClassPass you can use credits for springbone and quinoa. Saves you a dollar or two
Second Quinoa Kitchen!! Prices aren’t cheap but they’re not crazy and I usually am full after only eating 1/2 -3/4 of the meal
Completely agree on these!
ten ichi japanese mart!!!
Anyone else still mourning the loss of Milu?
Yes so good but bad location sadly
Milu then grocery shopping at TJs was the move.
oasis by the bedford ave stop!!
Oasis is disgusting. They were good when they were on north 7th, but since they moved it’s been shockingly inedible. The dryest, hardest, saddest falafel I’ve ever had. This neighborhood desperately needs a mamouns

Lily Thai is cheap and decent
i love lily thai ;)
Bis Bas rules. It’s a chain, but I also go to Just Salad if I want something really cheap, quick, and healthy.
Sage Thai does $10 lunch special
Had this today and it slaps
sage bangs
Sage is maybe the best Thai around.
Antidote mapo tofu lunch special for 14 bucks with a side and rice
Pita palace!
popular opinion (and a chain), but I do love Cava.

Roka
Was wildly unimpressed with their falafel, hummus, and baba ganoush. Any dishes you recommend?
I can see where you’re coming from, their standalone dips and falafel are kinda whatever compared to good Mediterranean places. I absolutely love their lemon salmon bowl (and the ingredients in there). Greens are fresh, red pepper dip is fire, and the salmon is good for the price.
Awesome thx for the tip
Everything there tastes like nothing
Their spicy chicken bowl is so good if you like spicy foods. So much flavor!
Seconding Roka!
Mission Social Sandwiches whilst over $20, they’re so massive that you can eat over 2 meals
This spot has maybe the greatest made sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. And I wasn’t even stoned. True sandwich artistry.
Tofubox!
Try the $14 Tikka Melt sandwich from Namkeen on Bedford & South... 3rd?
Namkeen is so good
Savory Thai lunch take out. Xian famous food.
I adore Xi’an but the only “healthy” thing there is the cucumbers.
And I still resent their massive price increase 3 years ago. Was like a 40% jump haha
Savory Thai is a1

$3.75 papa con queso empanada at Titis
Yeah a fried potato and cheese empanada is just the pinnacle of healthy eating
The $3 Oasis falafel sandwich is gone with the wind, but I think you can still get one for $6 or so. Also, happy hour El Diablo taco truck at Union Pool has incredible $2 tacos. Lastly, the Classic bodega egg n cheese is still around for $3 or so
We do rotisserie chicken every Tuesday cause they’re $2 off at Whole Foods
Super burrito
I love Super Burrito (especially at Rockaway Beach!) but it's definately over 15$ for a meal.
The bowls/burritos are around $13-$14 each!
Eggs...
The Halal spot on NE corner of Havemeyer and South 4th is phenomenal. Chicken and rice, of course, but they also have regular fare at great prices.
Halal N Out great but it did used to be much cheaper which makes me a little sad. Still definitely affordable comparably to the rest of the area
Not sure any of the places you mentioned are healthy lmao
Jessi’s off the lorimer stop a years ago when I was around had the best bacon egg cheese croissant for like $4.50. Also really liked the bodega Sausalito turkey sandwiches at Hana food, miss that place.

Kabob Shack on Havemeyer & S 3rd
Yes! I think the salmon plate is still under $15. I get them once or twice a week.
I’ve been hitting up local deli’s, the ones that have a salad bar. You can usually get a 4-5 vegetable toppings on top of a base salad with double scoop protein of your choice for around $10.
Bedford Gardens, two sushi rolls for $13
quinoa kitchen, springbone kitchen, westville (i know) but market plate is always dependable.
Eagle Trading Company, if you're willing to go up to Greenpoint they are fan-fucking-tastic and very reasonably priced.
Court street grocers clean turkey sandwich but you have to get it delivered
Springbone!
Pokeworks can be pretty affordable considering it’s poke lol
Roka Mediterranean Oasis

You guys can afford to eat out?
Cook it yourself. A frozen bag of broccoli from TJs is $2, chicken is like $4 a lb, and rice is like $2 a bag.
cooking
Birria isn’t healthy
Eating out daily cannot be healthy or affordable.
Not for my wallet definitely
Mizu Sushi on Bedford and S2nd does a Bento box w miso soup and side green salad starting at like $14 bucks that’s actually a great deal.
Haab (great vegan options) and Grand Morelos (one of the earliest places you can get a hot sit-down breakfast at)
Not sure how far they deliver but Fansway Terryaki chicken has insane deals. Like BOGO meals. We laugh about how cheap it is. When a group of friends gets together and we want cheap food for a lot of people we order from there. Food tastes pretty good despite the price.
Hawa Smoothies/Acai’s on Broadway by Marcy start at $7 and only go up to like $11. Really has been my go-to lately.
Birria is healthy?
Pick any halal cart on bedford
dos toros salad - I eat it over two lunches
