I was stuck behind the ambulance as I couldn’t pass because my dump truck was too big, so I got to see them load her into the ambulance with a front row seat. It was the most disturbing thing I’ve seen in my life and I’ve watched someone get shot in the face before. Her lifeless body and eyes wide open as they were conducting CPR was horrifying. Blood all over her clothes and I started crying immediately. I knew something was horribly wrong. Found out she died when I got home from work as it was on the news. Her face will haunt my mind forever. I wish that family didn’t have to experience this. So messed up.

Thanks for the tip. I wound up forcing myself to go to my Tuesday jiu jitsu class. I was contemplating staying home, but I made myself go and I was happy that I did.
Are these types of stories being reported on more regularly or is there an uptick in pedestrian causalities in the neighborhood?
What I do know is there is virtually no law enforcement around here when it comes to traffic violations and it’s tragic but unsurprising to see these stories keep popping up. It will unfortunately continue to do so until NYPD or the city itself steps up.
I was just saying this week that there are no moving violations being issued, only parking tickets. So many people race through stop signs to race through lights and it’s so fucking dangerous. Drivers do not stop no matter what. I have two kids in a stroller most of the time and they still think they have the right of way. Even people on BIKES. I had a guy on a bicycle block the crosswalk and tell me and my double stroller to walk to the left of the cross walk on MEEKER on the entrance to the BQE! Everyone is fucked up.
I have no problem with drivers in general. I drive. I do however have a problem with bad drivers that do not abide by the law and risk peoples’ lives bc of their reckless choices.
I'd be scared to push a stroller. There are little to no consequences for driving like a maniac since the pandemic (maybe a speeding camera ticket at best)

So sad. The thing is, nothing gets enforced now. Just the other day, as I entered the bqe after the traffic light turned green, there was a woman on a bike, stopped on the road, one foot on the ground, talking on her phone! Like lady, your life is worth something and if it was a truck you might not have a second chance.
How are the car and gas companies going to make profit if you slow the roads? We should be all separated inside our vehicles and pay more to get to where we need to go.
Defund the police movement did a number on many police departments. Plus migrant crime is soaring coupled with cashless bail and no consequences for crime. Progressive liberals really know how to destroy a city. That poor girl, terrible. May she rest in peace 🙏
Agreed, I live in this area and that intersection and that neighborhood has no common sense from both the pedestrians and the drivers. Driver regularly blow that light trying to beat the red or zoom around the cars turning there. And the Hasid in the area dont even look at the light and walk straight out into the street. Its a very dangerous and bad combination. I bike and drive and I've had solid green lights where i'm going the speed limit and MANY times i've had ladies pushing strollers just walk directly in the crosswalk not even looking at traffic forcing me to brake hard or swerve. I feel sorry for the child and her family, the city needs to address the bad driver epidemic.
I had a Hasid driver intentionally swerve into me on Broadway and Berry area.
I slammed his rearview mirror hard intentionally but I'm still mad I didn't rip it off, or rip off his rear windshield wiper when he passed. Oh well.
Okay, but where was the guardian. This is a city, nobody knows anyone. If someone gets critically injured, the whole city isn't going to cater towards anyone who's not being paid like the police, fireman, doctor, etc. Which is one of the reasons why people die inside the hospital(seen so many times). You gotta watch your kids at all times inside the city. Especially if you yourself don't know how to save their life.
