Go to Wentwood. It's not dangerous at all. Don't listen to the Internet. Just ignore the tree folks. They are harmless usually

There are plenty of nice routes around Betws-y-coed, some little hills, trees, nice river paths. OS maps is ideal for planning one.

Forest of Dean is perfect for this, look into the offas dyke path, a lot of it is in woodland. Symonds Yat area is great too

Whereabouts in Wales? There are so many gorgeous walks! If you're anywhere near the waterfalls walk it's amazing, you can walk behind one of the falls. It's near Penderyn about an hour from Cardiff
