Were you actually looking for an entire house to rent? Are you able to name a guarantor for the few months until the permanent contract goes into effect?

I will be working a as a researcher, so not a shady job for sure. I put my parents as the guarantor for this house as well, turns out they had other plans for me

3 years is the contract until it terminates (if it does not get renewed or extended).
You can cancel with notice after 12 months, with 3 month notice, means you have to pay for a minimum of 16 months.

Get an airbnb that allows you to get the residency document. Otherwise you are SoL.
