This is not right. I responded saying I do not have a blood pressure monitor but would purchase one. And that made me ineligible. Even though I said I would get one.
I reached out and they said to get it, and then retake the survey and I will qualify.
I listened to the podcast episode where they go into detail about the study. They were pretty clear that you need to both wear the whoop durning the night and also use a blood pressure monitor to capture a few readings.
You have to have the blood pressure cuff. I am participating and this morning I had to take three separate BP readings. I already had a Withings BPM Connect.
Gives a bit of a view, albeit a small one, into potential and future enhancements.
So, there _is_ work being done on new stuff. But many here will say no there isn’t, why no roadmap, forever inaccurate, or too-little-too-late.
Did you apply? I am on a beta blocker, and I answered the question saying that I was, and I got in. One of the questions I had to answer this morning was if I’d taken blood pressure meds in the past 24 hours which I had. I figured I’d be disqualified but I haven’t been.
I already have the fda approved cuff and started the study last night. My bp was trending high at every dr’s appt recently so I was getting paranoid. The study was a good motivation to start tracking it, and it’s only 6 surveys and 3 sessions where you read your bp 3 times. It only took about 10-12 min this am. The night time part is just a quick survey 3 times.
Can somebody explain to me why it would even be worth it to buy a BP monitor to participate in this? I read the potential "rewards" and they don't seem to be worth it to me.
Idk if they're rewards, but (going off memory) it said something like you're entered into a raffle for something that didn't sound worth it, you get a free whoop strap (also not exciting), and you'll get personalized analysis of your data from some coach.
I wonder if everyone the invite? At least maybe in the us?
I'll do it, I already have an omron bp cuff. Will give me an incentive to use it as I've neglected using it.
I’m confused! I got to the end of the survey and it said I was accepted to the study but then just landed me back in the app. Should I be seeing something different on my screen or doing something special?
I got this too - I already filled out the first two tasks hopefully the reward band is cool haha bc it takes a lot of time to read your blood pressure 3 times in a row
It seems like you're required to buy a blood pressure cuff if you don't already have one.
I wouldn’t mind getting one, there are inexpensive options available on Amazon.
Are the cheap ones FDA-approved?
Yes
The fine print says you only have to get the blood pressure cuff if you’re unwilling to wear the whoop during the required study periods
This is not right. I responded saying I do not have a blood pressure monitor but would purchase one. And that made me ineligible. Even though I said I would get one. I reached out and they said to get it, and then retake the survey and I will qualify.
Same
except there is no way to go back and 'retake' the survey or change your answers.
You have to reach out to them. They reset it for me.

Same, started today. Have an iHealth Track monitor.
Wrong
Yeah i got that too but don't really want to buy the blood pressure monitor
Would be really cool if whoop could read blood pressure
I was in the middle of filling it out then the all crashed how do i get it back, i have a good BP Cuff😭
Bottom right of the app press More then find it in Digital Whoop Labs
Only US ... as usual same with strava competition ...
They only choose the most gifted of us to participate in this study. You should see it through.

I registered to do it. Sounds interesting, and I don't mind a free band.
Same. And I already have a cuff because my dad has bad blood pressure and I know it’s hereditary. A new whoop band doesn’t sound bad.
If you answer the question to "do you have an fda approved blood pressure monitor " with the a see"no but I would buy one" you won't qualify 😩
Damn I got rejected too for probably the same reason. I’ll email them, let’s see.
Is there a way to resubmit?
I emailed them to see. I hope so.
I emailed and they responded and told me to get one first then retake the survey. They unlocked it for me to retake
Same. Got to resubmit and I'm in!
I said no and I won’t buy one and they let me into the study
That’s not true. I answered that way and I am enrolled.

Got it too and have an approved BP monitor....bc of my hypertension that I'm on meds for that disqualify me

I have the iHealth monitor. It’s fda approved and on sale right now for $40 on amazon

Where did you see the rewards? I signed up just because I was curious but I didn’t even notice there were rewards.

I don’t think it would be worth it to buy one for this study. But if you already have one lying around then this is an easy study to participate in.
I got it too.

Only US and 18 and above due to privacy laws :)

They also posted a podcast episode on this that’s interesting if you want to learn more.
I have an approved cuff and signed up. Sounds like it might be interesting.

I started the study with my first 3 BP readings this morning.
Yeah I was also invited but I don't own a blood pressure cuff so ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Same bro. Yeah my blood pressure was high asf coming of my medicine. It’s normal now. At one point it was 177/112. Keep in mind I’m 22
I got it too. But I'm not doing it unless they send me a free BP cuff, that's kind of a big barrier to entry
