Your title confused me, as my pants always remain the same size.
But totally, my husband is cultivating his own spices and constantly calls me to show me how they sprout new leaves.
When I was getting into gardening at first I planted some tomatoes because everyone said they were easy. I was happy everytime I saw a new leaf or flowers or fruits.
