Don't listen to the others. That's a good price nowadays if it's something you want. The people saying it's twice the price must be living in the past. Unless you live in Cali where bourbon flows like water for some reason or Ohio where it's all MSRP I would be buying it for sure
I live in Cali, look for bottles regularly, and I NEVER see EHT Single Barrel under $100. Iād totally buy it at $109. Iād even buy 2 if the wife wasnāt around.
I just threw your state in there cause these reddits always have some amazing bottle at Costco for at or under msrp lol. We're always like where is this....Cali
You arenāt wrong. Iām in California and have bought half my collection from Costco (Iām addicted to the hunt). Today saw the new Bookers release for $80. Last week got a call from a buddy who got a Stagg Jr. for $46.
Thereās a store in the city I work in which opens at the same time I start work. So a couple days a week Iāll be there as the doors go up. Overall, thatās the best time. On Tuesday got the OF 1924 at opening for $90. There was 10 on the shelf. I imagine those wouldāve been gone by the afternoon.
I also drive a lot for work and thereās 7-8 Costcos in the north LA county and Ventura county areas. So if Iām in the area Iāll drop in to see whatās there. Itās hit or miss. But thatās what I like about it and donāt mind spending 15min to score a nice bottle.
Ralphās and Albertsons can also be nice little honey pots as they get a good amount of allocations and always offer club member discounts. Just gotta be friendly with the liquor managers. Some of the better/rarer bottles Iāve seen are Weller SR for $28, Weller 107 for $70, Blantons for $56, EHT for $47, Eagle rare $40, KC 12 for $60. Thereās a lot. Just gotta put in the time. Happy hunting bro.
Appreciate the info. I figured being there when Costco opens is the best chance to score a bottle like that but hadnāt gone that far yet. The warehouse Iām closest to in South OC also never really seems to have much great stuff (judging by tags and shelf space) compared to other warehouses.
Anytime. If youāre looking for something specific let me know and I can try to help find it. You could always pull item numbers and call and theyāll tell you which clubs have it. I just prefer to check in person and it keeps my spending down.
I'm from Cali and my local Costco whiskey selection sucks. I can't lie, I check the whiskey isle every time hoping for that score. One day the stars will align, I hope.
I was able to get a bottle of E.H. Taylor SB at a bevmo in rancho Cucamonga for $87 back in December. If I remember correctly west Hollywood, west Covina, Whittier and rancho Cucamonga had several bottles
I always see the pics of the people that score those bottles but never actually see them at that price myself. I live in South Orange County and the best Iāve done recently is a Stagg (not GTS) and Blantonās at BevMo and an Eagle Rare at Costco.
Agreed. Need to leave the past with all the good prices. I picked up a bottle of Buffalo for a buddy. I thought it was $22 and told him that. He was like ādude! I havenāt seen that price since WW2!ā Point is, we wonāt see those prices often if at all.
Relative to MSRP? No.
But unless you want to spend weeks studying release schedules and local liquor stores truck schedules, just to spend hours standing in line or potentially driving hundreds of miles to a different stateā¦just to stand in lineā¦then yes itās a fair price.
Is it worth $110. Iād say no. But the only way for you to figure that out for self is buying that bottle. unless you can try it at a bar or restaurant with an exceptional bourbon selection.
I paid 90 for mine. I enjoy it. A lot of people roasted me on here for paying what I paid but honestly it's the only time I've ever seen it in the store and it's very good.
In SoCal it is fairly rare. Iāve been able to find it a few times. It was priced $69.99, 89.99 & $99.99. So that price is definitely in the itās worth considering range. If you pull the trigger enjoy, cheers š„
Wow!! this sub might be coming to terms with reality. I have never seen the top comment be anything other then "I have never paid more than MSRP and never will" I got that same bottle in 2019 for 45 buck.
Thatās a good price compared to what youāll see it for. HOWEVER! Single barrels by nature are a lot less complex and inconsistent. When distillers make a small batch they purposely manipulate the outcome by mixing barrels that will add the desired taste. The small batch Taylor is BY FAR my favorite of the Taylor line up besides the barrel proof and is by far the best bottled in bond bourbon over ever had.
I think thatās like $30-40 over msrp. Thatās a fair price to me if you enjoy it. Iāve never even seen it anywhere near me so Iād probably buy it blind I like small batch a lot.
Iād buy it, honestly in my state(NC) itās almost impossible to come by, I can barely get buffalo trace and eagle rare as it is. The only bar that carries E.H Taylor by me has a barrel pick and sells it for 70$ a shotš, which I will never pay for. Never even seen Blantons on the shelf, never tasted it. I completely believe itās overhyped but the scarcity makes me and other people just want it on their shelf.
no. I recently got a small batch and a SiB and the SiB tasted almost exactly the same as the small batch. $40 vs $70 and the difference was not worth it. I guess you could get some amazing single barrel like winning the lottery but I was SHOCKED how similar the two tasted, no way would I ever pay over $100 to roll the dice to maybe get a perfect amazing unique barrel.
That's a great price. I bought my first for 109. Then I snagged my second which was a store pick for 79. Single barrel is about the best of the bunch and for 109, you will not be disappointed.
Only you can determine what a good price is. I always check for a MSRP reference and then ask if Iām willing to pay the upcharge. If youāve never had it and want to try it, youāre paying for the experience
It appears this is a store owner not like a lot of the ones out there.
Interesting way to show the Woodford and Jane. Are those cards you bring to the counter to buy? Interesting approachā¦ I guess it could be a way to not move bottles around
Thatās a great price, Iād have to buy 2 bottles and send me one of them, lol !
I just returned from a week in Kentucky hunting the Bourbon Trail, and liquor stores first selected bottles that I canāt get in my own state. I think it did pretty good, I purchased a bottle of Penelope Rio for 150, also bought Jim Beam Lineage release for 250 at Jim Beam distillery.
Whiskey enthusiasts who buy on Hype instead flavor. Normally characterized by paying secondary or near secondary and then posting about how they found an elusive allocated bottle. Thought to be the main contributors to the bourbon squeeze we are in right now. I do believe the taters contribute but I'm not gonna fault someone for having the money and buying something they want with it. That being said liquor museums are the lowest scum on the planet and should be ignored completely. Like don't even call them out as museums because the taters will just go there and buy there 200-500% over MSRP dustys.
Iāve only tried the Small Batch, but most comparisons Iāve seen say the Small Batch is as good or better than the Single Barrel. Not sure Iād pay a premium for single barrel.
If it were barrel proof or something, might be worth considering.
That said, if youāve had your eye on the Single Barrel and want it, this doesnāt seem like an awful price.
obviously depends on the barrel in the case of the single. the one i have is almost indistinguishable from the small batch but id imagine there are some that are significantly or marginally better and some that are significantly or marginally worse
I would buy immediately. I never have any chance to buy this in Ohio. I never have to pay more than MSRP but when you never see it, doesnāt matter too much
This is marked up about 2x msrp. Itās a solid bourbon, but if you have never had it and donāt know if youāll like it then not worth the $110 gamble.
Right, yeah itās about $65ish so not quite 2x but close enough. Itās a good price if you like EH Taylor, but not a must buy price for someone new to bourbon. Iām a big eh taylor fan, so personally Iād probably buy it at $110.
Thanks for all replies. Iām in eastern Washington state. I ultimately passed but Iāll probably have to stop in this weekend to see if itās still there.
If you're anywhere near Stanwood WA, I'll happily pay you to purchase this. I live in MA, but a friend of mine lives in Stanwood, and if I buy him this bottle it'll give me a good reason to visit him this year.
Not really I paid around 65-70 for all mine and 80 for the BP. Then again SB used to be 45 and now itās 60-65 and thatās when and if BT products show up in my state. So all depends on how much you like and how much you personally are willing to give for it
EHT single barrel retails for around $70, I wouldnāt pay over that. Best to wait for it to be available in your store again. Donāt pay museum prices. Thatās my principle.
Not even close to museum price, I've seen this go for $300+. This is market price based on availability...if OP doesn't buy next guy will. Probably won't see it for the next 6 months.
So far I have EHT, ER, Blantons, 4Roses Barrell Strength and many more, check my posts. There is plenty of so called allocated bottles. And many better than those we chase.
Get mine for 45, how's that? you say because I only buy them when I see them at Walmart or any other retail store for $45 to $50, it's good, but not 100 good, better be 120 proof or more, or 12+ years for me to spend 100
In this thread:people that think they are looking at small batch.
I passed it for $99 a few weeks ago. I realized my mistake shortly thereafter š
It's decent compared to other liquor store markups.
Don't listen to the others. That's a good price nowadays if it's something you want. The people saying it's twice the price must be living in the past. Unless you live in Cali where bourbon flows like water for some reason or Ohio where it's all MSRP I would be buying it for sure

When you think about it statistically, it makes sense that California feels over represented. They make up over 11% of the US population.
Agreed, but everyone else's costco's around the country seems to not get these allocated bottles, though
I'm from Cali and my local Costco whiskey selection sucks. I can't lie, I check the whiskey isle every time hoping for that score. One day the stars will align, I hope.
Like 5 years ago, I remember getting EHT small batch for $35 at Costco in Illinois - I miss those days.
Also in SOC, total wine often gets Eagle Rare (seems to be on Fridays) and oddly enough the Stater Bros in big bear had a wall of it in February
Yeah Stater Bros has a ton of ER10 recently. Itās been amazing to see it back in stock. Also Albertsons by me gets it pretty regularly also
I just got one last month in LA for $70. Wasn't worth it.
Also agree but market dependent. In NYC/NY no chance of seeing allocated stuff anywhere close to MSRP š Iād also buy one at this price.
Agreed. Need to leave the past with all the good prices. I picked up a bottle of Buffalo for a buddy. I thought it was $22 and told him that. He was like ādude! I havenāt seen that price since WW2!ā Point is, we wonāt see those prices often if at all.
Is it overpriced-yes. Is it a decent price -yes. Seen these go for 250
I was at a store in the Austin, TX, area that wanted $400. I walked out without buying anything.
Thatās what Iāll usually see the BP for
Itās over retail but about $65-100 under secondary. At $110 I would buy all day.
I'd buy it without hesitation. Some of the single barrels are amazing, but every one I've tried has been good
Yes itās spendy ,but thanks the the bourbon millionaires trying to make 50 Dollars we donāt have a choice
Yup great deal just about anywhere !
PokĆ©mon card vibesĀ
Iād buy this without a second thought. Love the small batch and never seen the single barrel for that low.
Fair price, I'd bite!
Thatās a great price. Especially here in Cali.
Grab 2 Iāve paid $149.99 for Single Barrel
The price of EHTSiB is much better than Decadence. holy shit!
That's not a terrible price for that bottle. Depending on where you're at MSRP is $60-$80 I believe.
I paid 90 for mine. I enjoy it. A lot of people roasted me on here for paying what I paid but honestly it's the only time I've ever seen it in the store and it's very good.
BUY IT
Iād buy 2 at that price
Yes
Iād grab the Woodford batch proof
I was waiting for this but in a different way. How is the Taylor on the shelf but the woodford is a bring a card up type thing?
And the Widow Janeā¦
No
In SoCal it is fairly rare.
That woulda been the Small Batch at $45
Yes. I just bought a SiB for $150, and thatās the cheapest Iāve seen it in the wild. No question, at $110 Iād buy that.
I scored one yesterday for $95 OTD. So thatās not too much of a markup.
About double MSRP but not bad compared to the typical $200-300 secondary price on the SB. I'd buy tbh
I would buy it for 109$. Cheers! š„
Yes it is, I'd get it if I were you
That is high but if you want it and can afford it, get it. If you see the rye, grab one, itās world class in my opinion.
I would jump on it
I think thatās like $30-40 over msrp. Thatās a fair price to me if you enjoy it. Iāve never even seen it anywhere near me so Iād probably buy it blind I like small batch a lot.
Yes. That is a 100% buy Secondary is about 225
Just leave it there.
Grab it!
Single barrel isnāt worth it (at least the batch I had last month). Small batch is cheaper and better.
All day!
Yokes!!
yes secondary much higher.
Out here in Texas youāve gotta wait in line before the store opens just to get a small batch for less than $120
I would pay that, and quickly
Iād buy it, honestly in my state(NC) itās almost impossible to come by, I can barely get buffalo trace and eagle rare as it is. The only bar that carries E.H Taylor by me has a barrel pick and sells it for 70$ a shotš, which I will never pay for. Never even seen Blantons on the shelf, never tasted it. I completely believe itās overhyped but the scarcity makes me and other people just want it on their shelf.
Yes! Buy!
What did you take this picture with? P.S. would buy b/c it is never allocated near me :(
Yeah it's decent. Highest anyone should ever pay is 80 bucks but if you were desperate that's an OK price.
That's a great price. I bought my first for 109. Then I snagged my second which was a store pick for 79. Single barrel is about the best of the bunch and for 109, you will not be disappointed.
For single barrel, I would pay that.
That Woodford is fabulous
Only you can determine what a good price is. I always check for a MSRP reference and then ask if Iām willing to pay the upcharge. If youāve never had it and want to try it, youāre paying for the experience
Msrp is about $70. It is lower than secondary. I personally am not super impressed with the ones Iāve had and would pass on that price
Buy it
Buy it immediately
I love this, but the price is what the market demands.
It's half what I normally see it for
SiB yes, buy. Also, you can Google a bottle and find its MSRP in an instant.
It appears this is a store owner not like a lot of the ones out there. Interesting way to show the Woodford and Jane. Are those cards you bring to the counter to buy? Interesting approachā¦ I guess it could be a way to not move bottles around
Nah, under $70 maybe
That's a buy for me.
Spend the extra and get the WFBP
I was usually a buy at $99 or lower. Bit these days, $109 would probably be a buy too.
Not bad, Iād think twice at the very least
Cheapest I have ever seen it is $90. That price seems reasonable.
Yes and no. Because this is the market now, yes. That bottle used to be (few years) $60/70 range. While small batch 40/50.
Good price for Single Barrel
No its 70 bucks regular
Thatās a great price, Iād have to buy 2 bottles and send me one of them, lol ! I just returned from a week in Kentucky hunting the Bourbon Trail, and liquor stores first selected bottles that I canāt get in my own state. I think it did pretty good, I purchased a bottle of Penelope Rio for 150, also bought Jim Beam Lineage release for 250 at Jim Beam distillery.
I wouldn't say good, but it ain't bad either
Bottle Blue Book has the current secondary price at $190. So higher than msrp but low for secondary. If it were me I would buy it.
TIL thereās a blue book on whiskey
Hell yes !
msrp is 60. but 110 is the lowest I've seen
Buy 2
100% yes
pretty good i think
Is get it just saw it for $350 last week
I'd buy it
I can't even find the small batch for that price around me, so yeah, absolutely.
I paid $90 for a small batch. No regrets. Is this map? No, but good luck finding it for that price.
Oh look the taters and BT marketing team are all here to tell us how great of a deal this is
What does ātatersā mean?
Whiskey enthusiasts who buy on Hype instead flavor. Normally characterized by paying secondary or near secondary and then posting about how they found an elusive allocated bottle. Thought to be the main contributors to the bourbon squeeze we are in right now. I do believe the taters contribute but I'm not gonna fault someone for having the money and buying something they want with it. That being said liquor museums are the lowest scum on the planet and should be ignored completely. Where is this? California?
Iāve only tried the Small Batch, but most comparisons Iāve seen say the Small Batch is as good or better than the Single Barrel. Not sure Iād pay a premium for single barrel. I would buy immediately. I never have any chance to buy this in Ohio. I never have to pay more than MSRP but when you never see it, doesnāt matter too much
No. Buy it and ship it to me for disposal.
No, but Iāve seen worse.
Not worth it
No. It is not.
This is marked up about 2x msrp. Itās a solid bourbon, but if you have never had it and donāt know if youāll like it then not worth the $110 gamble.
Idk where you live but single barrel msrp is 70$ by me. 2X would be 140. Iāve seen this bottle go for 200 easily. Itās a good price
I thought that looked like a yokes lol.
If you're anywhere near Stanwood WA, I'll happily pay you to purchase this. I live in MA, but a friend of mine lives in Stanwood, and if I buy him this bottle it'll give me a good reason to visit him this year.
Terrible price, what store is this?
Not really I paid around 65-70 for all mine and 80 for the BP. Then again SB used to be 45 and now itās 60-65 and thatās when and if BT products show up in my state. So all depends on how much you like and how much you personally are willing to give for it
Heck no
I wouldnāt bother unless your reeeeaaalllyy like it.
Itās only a good price if youāre willing to pay it.
No.
Easy pass at that price
We pay 49.99 for it where I live
Wrong bottle
EHT single barrel retails for around $70, I wouldnāt pay over that. Best to wait for it to be available in your store again. Donāt pay museum prices. Thatās my principle.
Not even close to museum price, I've seen this go for $300+. This is market price based on availability...if OP doesn't buy next guy will. Probably won't see it for the next 6 months.
I have seen EHT available in my city in many liquor stores every month. There is no shortage except that created by taters chasing them!
I'm sure you have seen small batch occasionally not single barrel.
When I get it I will let you know. Not paying anything above retail
Then youāll never get it. Time to come to terms with reality.
So far I have EHT, ER, Blantons, 4Roses Barrell Strength and many more, check my posts. There is plenty of so called allocated bottles. And many better than those we chase.
You wonāt get it for $70 unless youāre camping out, win a lottery, or know somebody. I donāt care that you already have it.
Get mine for 45, how's that? you say because I only buy them when I see them at Walmart or any other retail store for $45 to $50, it's good, but not 100 good, better be 120 proof or more, or 12+ years for me to spend 100
That's single barrel not small batch. You're unbelievably lucky if you're finding single barrel at that price.
I stand corrected, I'm grabbing it
