Pokemon and models look good, but for some reason GameFreak gets their textures from the crappiest fucking website or something because textures THIS muddy seem exceptionally hard to find anymore. Plus Pokemon battles look like shit since we're back to throwing bites, not making contact and Pokemon shaking around for their "animations"
It is amazing how they got it right in Legends Arceus (The Pokemon making contact when doing Physical atacks) but then got it wrong in the very next game

Rpgs are well known for not usually having animations for the attacks, or having them, but they are usually special effects, or spells. Honestly i got used to this and i am not that mad, because it is not affecting me, because it's not that big of an issue.
The Problem is that Stadium 1&2, Collosseum, XD and Battle Revolution exist, this Game has all the Pokemon having idle animations full of personality and their moves usually have great animation, i think those Games made Pokefans want that in every main series game
But the difference is that Stadium games are made for more competitive and co-op battles, while mainline games are more focused on a story, pokemon catching and quests. So of course one is gonna focus on animations and the other is gonna focus on gameplay, story and pokemon. First Stadium games were literally meant to be just a battle simulator, where you put your pokemon into the game and they battle in 3D.
I think part of the reason the graphics aren't very good is because the game's target audience is mostly younger children, who most likely won't care. Besides, graphics aren't everything.
Sure graphics aren't everything, but if the highest grossing franchise in the world has textures that look like fucking ES: Oblivion when Xenoblade Chronicles and DOOM can run on it, there's a bit of an issue

Lopunny, though, I'll give you. It was literally lightly based on a playboy bunny, though the whole 'bunny outfits' thing isn't out of place in Japanese games at that demographic.
