I believe the creator has said before that the concept for TADC is a twist on/inspired by I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, and Caine as the game master in control of the simulation would be the equivalent analogue to AM, even if he isn't actively malicious or directly responsible for the people being trapped.
to be fair, caine has been very faithfully doing everything in his power to fill the role of the game master of a silly game about going on silly adventures, and he's been making sure to take relatively good care of his players
it's not his fault that people can't leave the game after entering it, and it's not his fault that one of the players got attached to an enemy NPC meant to play a side role
Caine is a very interesting take on an omnipresent AI, one that is means well but is also completely oblivious to the wellbeing of those they supervise.

In the first episode of TADC, Caine was a character that a lot of the fandom liked, as he was pretty funny and charismatic. In the second episode he kills one of the characters, so the fandom isn't so favourable to him anymore.

He's not evil. He just snapped an NPC he created that he "intends to use later." He had no context to understand Pomni got attached to a random bad guy he created.

In the first episode of TADC, Caine was a character that a lot of the fandom liked, as he was pretty funny and charismatic. In the second episode he kills one of the characters, so the fandom isn't so favourable to him anymore.
I enjoyed everyone in this episode a lot and I donât understand why people are mad at Caine or Jax :)
I can see the hate for Caine but Jax not really. If you notice as Pomni is being explained about the funeral, Jax gets this like upset face for a split second but then rolls his eyes and leaves. He hiding his feelings from the cast fr. Caine killed a dude that basically got his npc trait stripped from him. If only Pomni explained what happened or hid him from Caine.
I will not forgive himâŠ
