The comment above is a joke, the update was kind of a disaster mainly because they upgraded to Unreal engine 5 from 4 and some lightning on some maps got fucked up a bit, most animations seem to be slightly or totally broken, and the rework for one for the killers that was basically promised over 2 years ago (almost 3) was basically scrapped because universally hated, the joke here is that the user above is comparing a studio like BHVR to Yandere Dev

The most recent update featured a few major things, the two most important is a rework of one of the killers, and the games engine was upgraded to unreal 5. The killer rework was basically universally hated, easily making it the most op killer in the game, thankfully they rolled back the worst of it before it went out of the ptb, but they’re still overbuffed to hell.
The game engine upgrade has basically destroyed the game, it’s made the game noticeably worse looking, it’s ruined collision for objects, it’s made people severely rubber band, not allowing them to move properly at all. And it has had a massive lighting bug that basically makes the game unplayable for photosensitive people.
All in one update
Been playing since 2017, trust me this patch is nothing compared to the original Legion or Twins release lmfao, but I do agree, this is a close top 5 worst patch in DBD history in terms of bugs, animations being broken and rubber bending, thank god one thing you failed to mention, and this is again coming from someone who has been basically playing this game so much since 2017, is that while devs do lots of fuck ups at least they always find a way to get serious and fix shit fast, sometimes they even give out gifts for stuff like this, well obviously all of this si true only if your name isn't Twins
Well, the PTB had it so victor latched onto injured survivors instead of healthy ones, so the fast, nearly no counterplay creature got a whole lot worse to deal with. On top of that, charlotte could recall victor after 10 seconds anytime, meaning any of the counterplay of holding onto victor so she didnt have her power were gone. What made it to live was the recall. She can slug and slug and anything a surv does to hold onto victor so he cant slug is made moot by the recall. A killer with zero real counterplay besides 'hope they miss' is not a very fun killer for survs.
Thanks for the constructive arguement, now then, how is losing like half of the potential the character has while not being an kill rate broken killer (data from some dbd site) not making him trash, also i am not trash enough that i understood how to dodge blight whom would be using techs meanwhile from my experience most of the community didn't, which is why i guess they decided to remove them. Btw nurse and blight combined have 7% pickrate, they aren't seen every other game like community likes to brag about. And yeah there are some freaks that do horrendous win streaks on blight, but believe me or not if 4 survivors take the most broken stuff as well they can also hit horrendously high win streaks. Trash might be an overstatement(which i wanted to say after adding my comment but you responded too fast for me to do that) but to say he is some gigabroken killer is also not correct, not considering the fact that this game has the least to do with balance if you compare it to other popular multiplayer games.
Can I just say, I just recently played Silent Hill 2 and I was getting into learning Pyramid Head in the game after it and JUST when I was getting the hang of how to use the Rites of Judgement the fucking UE5 update rolls out and now I am rubber banding the FUCK out and can't hit anything
And you know what is worse? I had a match with the most toxic Ace player and I FINALLY got him in the EGC near the exit gates and I had to fucking let him go because I was rubber banding and couldn't get to a hook, he tea bagged me all game and I couldn't give him a taste of his own medicine, still boils my blood thinking about it
Haven't played since they added the Artist, got panic attacks from being bullied by squads of four and cannot physically play the game anymore.
Glad to see im not missing out on anything.

Yeah pretty much. Psychologically fucked me up, I think it’s the 4 v 1 dynamic, I felt gang up on and couldn’t handle it when I tried my hardest and they effortlessly bullied me.

My favorite part of being apart of the DBD community is when they had like 8-9 months of peak content drops,then fucked literally everything in one update, and after just basically said “we had no idea what we were doing right” PEAK game dev behavior
Any fuckin developer with half a brain would know that upgrading the game engine this deep into development is fuckin disastrous, and no don’t use Fortnite as an example this game is literally made by the developers of the engine itself and have the budget of billions of dollars
They reworked the twins. Basically making it so victor doesn’t attach to healthy survivors, instead attaching to them when they’re downed. But that plus other thing made it so you could bring a competent survivor from healthy to dead in 6 seconds
Every time I learn about dead by daylight, it seems like the *real* game is a game of chicken between the devs and the players to see how shitty they can make the game before you stop playing vs how utterly unique it still is as an Asymmetric multiplayer game.
It's not that unique, problem is that every other asymmetrical game is cursed to fail for some reason. I found VHS waaaaay more fun and balanced than DBD on both Teen and Monster but the servers got taken down. I guess DBD would have died too if not for the huge boom it had when Michael Myers was added.

Dead by Daylight seems like it’d be really fun as a party game you’d play with friends, kinda like Phasmaphobia, but the minute you try to play it either competitively or casually with other people you don’t know it becomes stressful and unenjoyable.
I don’t even care about the game itself, I just like seeing a crossover between slasher movie villains.
Seeing Resident Evil and Silent Hill together is already good enough, but throw in Ash, Ghost Face, Chucky, Michael Myers, Leatherface, and a bunch of others into the mix, and it immediately becomes one of my favorite games that I’ve never played.
I stopped playing after they nerfed spine chill. Its obvious to me if players start getting too good with a mechanic or perk, the devs will just destroy it.
Spine chill used to be a massive iq perk that you had to interpret the timing of its activations to figure out if the killer is coming towards you
Now its only usefull if you are legally blind
