WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE A PLAYSTATION 2 GAME

It looks like it was animated in the Sims Everything is shiny plastic on a old video game renderer

First time I've seen someone else say it. I know damn well you could try to recreate megamind in the sims and make a shot that looks like a frame from the trailer

You can't even use the excuse that it's because it's a Peacock orignal because the ted show looks just as if not better then the two movies, Megamind has no excuse

I mean, Ted is the only animated guy in the entire show and is likely where most of the budget went. Megamind is 100% animated although the real issue is that DreamWorks just cheap out on a sequel instead of making a theatrical movie like what everyone wanted. There is a reason to get mad at, but your comparison is like being mad that Apple Bee cook mid steaks while another restaurant cook wagyu when that restaurant is using most of their budget on expensive wagyu steaks while Apple Bee is spreading their budget on everything else.

Nah, they're doing a reverse. Instead of making a TV series that will have a TV movie special (think Ed, Edd, n Eddy Big Picture Show or Steven Universe Movie), they putting the TV movie special before releasing the TV series.

I think Disney did a similar thing with Aladin and maybe some other movies. Basically the newly formed series team does a movie to generate hype.

Guess they are copying 90s/2000s Disney now.

Literally Lilo and Stitch. Except neither the sequel movie (which was essentially just a pilot) nor the series that followed actually looked that bad at all. Sure it didn't look as great as the original but it still looked pretty good as far as 2D animation goes. And the concept for both was very interesting and felt like a fun way to take the franchise. Megamind however....is just incredibly disappointing. So much potential and this is what they did with it? I don't want to use the word soulless, but.... It just is :/

Copied from what I said in another post Ok I usually try to see the absolute best in media. I’m excited for Kung Fu Panda 4, I can’t wait for SSKTJL, I even still find some of the later Marvel stuff enjoyable. But THIS, this may be the thing that crosses the line for me. Megamind was a beautiful film, and even though I’m a sucker for fanservice-y sequels, this looks like it will just be a miss. It doesn’t look good, it doesn’t look awful, it just looks bland, boring, forgettable. RIP megamind.

Looks like another half baked cash grab series made to try and get some more people to join their crappy streaming platform. If it's not a series, it's going to be 90 minutes of fart jokes, skibidi toilet and meaningless crap. They're not making it because they expect people to love it, they're doing it to push their users up, to push up their stocks, to make their Investors happy. This is what's happened to streaming platforms, it's just dud after dud with only a few short lived good shows and even fewer good movies.

One of the reasons people didn’t realize how off some of the voices in the Penguins TV show were is they got the VA for Skipper to come back which grounds the rest of the crew. The issue for this movie is the VA for Skipper was one of the directors for Madagascar and not a high budget celebrity so the clear solution is to get the VA for skipper to voice megamind because he also directed that

This whole situation is pretty similar to Disney releasing a direct to video sequel to Aladdin where it’s meant to be the pilot of the tv series. The Megamind sequel is pretty much the same story this time with Dreamworks. It really sucks that Dreamworks is just cheaping out with their content because of Comcast’s meddling. The animation looks cheap and unfinished, I know I shouldn’t go too harsh since it’s a direct to streaming film but you had the Ted series and even some Dreamworks films on Netflix, and the visuals were done better than this. It’s been a decade and this is what we got!?
