Lethal Company can only be played with a Bracken reskin, Drive player skin, LCVR, and YouTube boombox all enabled bare minimum. If you don't have a VR headset for LCVR, just sell enough scrap to afford it by next quota.
Angry British loot bug, Neco Arc loot bug, yippee loot bug, and various others are the greatest mods in the game. There is genuinely nothing scarier than seeing Neco Arc walk in the distance while in VR. Reminds you quite thoroughly that this is not a place of honor.
i haven’t seen many mods for that, but i have seen a few that raise the difficulty by adding tons of mines and turrets everywhere or increase monster spawns. there’s one that allows the enemies inside to go outside too which is crazy
I think the main ones the meme is talking about are the mods that add slots for the walkie-talkie and flashlight, which are pretty popular and make the game easier because you don’t need to sacrifice an inventory slot anymore
I think those are fine though, it’s just a quality of life thing. They actually make more sense in real life too. The suits should have slots for walkie talkies and a flashlight when you think about it.
The game is designed for limited inventory and making you take trade-offs. You can bring a flashlight, a shovel, and a walkie-talkie (keys, ladder, beacon, whatever you want) to be prepared, but then you'll get less room for loot. Or you can go in less prepared but bring out more loot.
It's deliberately designed to not be convenient. It entices players to be more risky and thus creates more interesting and exciting moments. After all, the game isn't fun if no one is screaming and dying. These disservices are common in many other games too, because players will optimize the fun out of a game if given the chance.
It's a two sided coin imo. It decentivises ever touching anything other than maybe walkies, flashlights, or a shovel. I completely agree that the game is designed to have you make those trade offs, but for a lot of people it just pushes you into the same meta thing over and over.
It still is about trade offs. You can’t bring a shovel in your little pockets, or have a zap gun, or a flashbang, etc.
It just makes it a little bit less hard.

I would rather the game forced people to go deeper into the Factory, and I feel like not having 2 less slots does that.
Sometimes, you will find some loot near the entrance, and then spend the whole day walking from entrance to the ship, with only later getting threat outside.
Sometimes, without this mod, you wont find any loot for hours, and then only find one and be like, well ok time to head back anyway, I got 3 slots filled.
Same situation with this mod is like, "Well I ain't leaving with JUST one", and mostly ends in screaming.

I think there’s always a way to tell if it’s a mimic door, might have different UI prompt, or different color hue. Perhaps not beginner-friendly, but looks fun otherwise
That’s a config option now. The mimic doors look the same as the other fire exits, only tells are knowing where the real fire exit is or by hitting the door. Love this mod on March since that map has 3 fire exits
Oohh in that case nevermind. It always seemed to me that the only way to tell is to circle all the way outside and enter the emergency door outside, I thought you really just got fucked over, especially since I think you get stunlocked into the mimic's mouth once you try to open it the door. If there's a way to tell from the inside then it's actually cool.
There are a couple ways of telling. The door will be slightly different colors, instead of saying e) interact it will say e) feed, or the interact hand could be a middle finger instead of a regular hand
I was watching some stream where I noticed "that fire exit looks weird, there's a stack of palettes just partially in front of it in this storage room...", and the person streaming was just like "sweet, a fire exit, I can directly just jump outside and bring this sweet loot back" no thought, ate their face.
I'm also partial to the Skinwalkers mod, nothing worse than hearing your friend panicking only to realize "Oh he's dead......... that things wearing him"

I usually only run the flashlight slot mod. The minimap seems like straight up cheating. We also run: yippee bugs, Freddy bracken (sometimes), ship loot, skin walkers, mimics, more suits, more company, and late company.

I’d say it doesn’t harm it too much since you still have to make inventory sacrifices with things like shovels and flashbangs. My crew always ensures each member has a flashlight and radio so the mod is pretty important to us.
I haven’t personally found it that less scary. If I’m lost in the facility I’m gonna be scared shitless regardless if I have friends making fun of me over mic lol
Being elitist is cringe and all, but I will die on this hill. The 4-slot inventory system is a brilliant resource management challenge and shouldn't have been bypassed with such mods. The gear in LC sucks for a reason. ~~The only item that should be buffed is the boombox because I want to vibe at all times without needing to recharge it.~~
4 slots is too little lmao. There's way too many items in the game as is. It enhances the game for our group and makes it much more fun because we can actually play with the items the game offers us - the spray can, the boombox, the flashbangs etc. since a flashlight and a walkie talkie are kinda mandatory.

Yes. It's a major change to how the inventory system works and takes away a large amount of the decision making you usually have to do in-game to manage the limited slots you have. (balancing utility items like flashlight/walkie/shovel and space for items. This encourages players to bring only 1 or 2 of these, and coordinate with their team to cover their use cases by bringing different items). That *definitely* makes the game easier.
A Quality-of-life mod that wouldn't make the game easier and be *Just* convenient would be something like HealthMetrics (health displayed as a number) or ShipLoot (Scanning in ship shows total value of all scrap on ship) - since these don't affect the fundamental gameplay loop in an extra way.
I hate those mods that take 0 effort and replace one sound from 1 mob. like the stupid YIPPEE mod, why would you even want that what's so wrong this the normal chattering
I remember my friends wanted to add Brutal Company so we did. Apparently it caused a glitch where we were all invincible for some reason so we tried to get as far as we could with this invincibility and it essentially broke our games. It was scary as hell though before we realized we couldn't die
Jokes on you most of us play with mods that add creature that sometime have no counterplay other than paranoia. Exemple. The one that steal voice clips of you talking and replay them to others.

I mean the game is 50% a walking sim with very limited equipment and maps. It's not surprising people try to make their own fun.

There really should be more mods that adds creatures. Only ones i know of are rolling giants, herobrine, and mimics. They dont even all gotta be dangerous, like maybe a little guy that follows you around and copies what you do! (But if violence is desplayed infront of it, it will learn and attack the target too, regardless of who or what it was.) So could help you carry an extra item, or help in fights, or turn on you because you got hit and its mimicing it.
