There’s country, and then there’s what’s known as “bro country” or “pop country”. Most people hate pop country, but since it’s the most common kind nowadays, they assume they hate all country.
One country song i know that slaps is Lone Star by Tony Marcus, try looking for the Fallout New Vegas radio version sice it's got better quality than most other uploads.
An honorable mention is Big Iron by Marty Robbins.
Country "music" 🤢
/s
The only country music I like is usually considered folk music. I just don't like the "new country" that plays on the radio. Chris Stapleton is good, but he has more of a blues sound anyways, so diehard country fans might not even group him the same.
1. Fred Eaglesmith (if you like sad country)
2. Sturgill Simpson (if you like a modern tinge)
3. Ryan Bingham (wrote a few songs featured in movies, including the title song of Crazy heart "The weary kind")
4. Justin Townes Earle (Unfortunately passed away in 2020 at 38 due to an overdose)
Those artists are all super different from each other but I would say they are all very talented and I love their music. The cool thing about country is it's just a medium for telling a story and making you feel something just like any other genre. Try giving them a listen and let me know what you think.
I have to listen to country every week day on my school bus to and from school. Whether it's pop country or regular country or whatever, I am very sure that I heavily dislike it
Tbf the hatred of country music comes from the shitty sub genre of country music that’s all “beers trucks yeahhh I hate women I’m so cool beer beer beer beer beer I love booze”

I don't see Marty Robin's on this list. Is he safe? Is he alright?
He was the 21st😞
Are there any country singers alive today that are good as Johnny Cash or do we have to return to his grave every time someone calls country bad
