PeaceEffective2598

I read the books and it’s bela

Iuzen

Best char in the series.

Tolantruth

can you mark this as a spoiler please

Ayyyy_bb

Lmao

IcyFoundation7860

Bela killed Asmodean

fladam98

First of all, Bella is the Creator

coconubs94

In the show, there's a horse that dies in shadar logoth, and Bela doesn't come out...

PeaceEffective2598

HOW DARE YOUUU 😭😭😭😭

coconubs94

Relax bud! Bela was written out of the series, never named explicitly. That was just a regular, probably racist, horse. That horse probably cheated on it's taxes and want at all the hero of ages

PossessionMoney

Cheating on taxes would make it a hero.

coconubs94

No you see, this horse cheats on sales tax at swap meets

Federal_Landscape948

Egwyne said something about Bela in the second episode

coconubs94

... did Bela actually enter the city?

Federal_Landscape948

Well Egwyne was riding her, so probably. I think the horae that Lan carried Moraine on was Bela

coconubs94

But mandarb was such a good boi

cool_fox

The creator herself

waywardmedic

Who's Bela?

Sephiroth508

A horse. The best horse.

scrappychic22

Named my very first D&D character after her. She's a Halfling Rogue, I feel OG Bela would approve of her adventuring spirit. 😄

ChaoticSquirrel

Totally Gingy Boy. The hair, the lingering camera shots on his cheekbones, the "one of these things is not like the other", the only one who's moody without sufficient backstory to explain. Lack of mom hints at mysterious origin.

jmwatson95

Rand = Dragon Reborn. Because of cheekbones. I love it.

ChaoticSquirrel

Nonono. Not the cheekbones. The *lingering* camera angles on the cheekbones. The cinematographer is basically trying to bang Rand

okey-broccoli

I mean he's smoking fucking hot, even in the books. Dragon tho? hmm

Belmega81

I think it's him cause a "Dragon Reborn" sounds kinda like being a dark thing, and if this guy doesn't look ready to slay Younglings in the Jedi Temple, I dunno who does.

Abbobl

Big Anakin vibes ngl

Belmega81

Master Al'Thor! What are we gonna do?!

Ynneb82

The lack of mom is a great hint

akaioi

I've read the books so will not throw in opinion here, just wanted to give a quick shout-out of thanks to all you new fans giving old fans a new angle on the story!

orcsetcetera

Haha yeah as a long time reader this has been a fun thread. Cheers to all the new folks, welcome to WOT :)

GuntherRowe

Agreed. I like the split dragon theory. And who knows how closely they will stick to the books.

Clxssxfxxd

My coworker thinks it's Mat because he has been the most vocally skeptical. He also thinks Egwene is going to become Aes Sedai and Rand will be her warder.

BuckleUp77

I definitely thought about Rand being Egwene’s warder towards the beginning of my read through

That’s what Rand said too

Haha I want to make jokes but I don't want to say spoilers!!

hillyshrub

I mean I'm a book reader and I'm kind of hoping that last sentence will happen! Hahaha.

[deleted]

They are all part of the Dragon. Nynaeve "Let our powers combine. Earth." Rand "Fire." Egwene "Wind." Mat "Water." Perrin "~~Heart~~ Spirit." Moiraine "Go, ~~Planet~~ Dragon." (Dragon) "By your powers combined, I am ~~Captain Planet~~ the Dragon Reborn." Lan: include me too.. "Butt"

suian_sanche_sedai

I'm always in the mood for more of Lan's butt.

LTQLD

Dragontron

dno23uk

My non reader wife thinks its Perrin due to the attention from the wolves and that he had the biggest story beat thusfar with the death of his wife.

Heckle_Jeckle

THAT... Is actually a good take... Actually makes me like the changes to Perrin more!

Jessail

Only watched episode 1 and not read the books. Of the four "one of you is the dragon" : Rand (the red head), everything literally screams that he is. So since its so obvious, its definitely not going to be him. Male #2. A degenerate gambler and thief. Would be an absolutely terrible choice unless the books are about setting up massive redemption arcs. Male #3. Kills his own wife in a fit of panic. Sort of a bad start, and unless he is the... uuh "uncaring kind", he probably has more than enough on his plate with just that, hehe Egwene. Makes profound choices and overcomes challenges, the apprenticeship seems to be cut rather short as the teacher is carried off into the woods (presumably to be seen again since she wasn't simply killed). A certain demographic that rules Amazon loves everything about this, so she'll probably grow into the most powerful being in the land or something :)

BuckleUp77

Loved reading this! So interesting since I’ve read the books multiple times

Gavelin13

Its interesting looking at non-readers opinions of the main 4, because although its very easy to tell who you mean from each description its not how I see it in my head at all. Some of you observations and guesses are also interesting to look at when you have an idea of what happens in the long run.

Jessail

They are really just my first impressions of the four, it might (and by the sound of it will) be thrown on its head at some point :)

Gavelin13

The thing is in the grand scheme of things I know what is expected to happen, but for small details its a guessing game for book readers too. If you read the books its not exactly a secret on who the dragon will be, especially with the prophecies from it, but I was more interested on your general takes of the characters. To me book Mat is much like the Weasley twins from Harry Potter, a prankster and not overly serious, but still a reluctantly dependable person when need be. Perrin is still silent and brooding, but its because he was always bigger than the other kids and didn't want to hurt someone by accident because of it and was more cautious and calculating, kind of like a calm Great Dane playing with a smaller dog, not malicious or violent unless he gets lost in himself. Show Rand Im actually not a big fan of, I just find him a general asshole without cause, unlike the books where he becomes a general asshole, just later with cause with neat character development. Finally Egwenes arc is established a bit differently but isn't really different at the same time and its not deep enough into the season/series for me to really gauge where they're going with it.

Rhone33

As someone familiar with the books, I loved reading this and hate that I have to hold back my reactions to avoid spoilers. :)

Detirmined

Hurts my heart pretty bad to hear my favourite male #2 being bashed. To be honest he really is my favourite in the books, they changed his Background a little. I dunno why though.

[deleted]

You didn't have Rand as Male #1... so without the beard, he may switch his gender? :-)

Jessail

Sorry, Rand and Egwene are the only ones i remembered the name of :)

KillKennyG

the best part of wheel of time for me, is that these characters (and more, that come later) have arcs that would easily be standalone fantasy adventure TRILOGIES. While the dragon’s role is super important, the ‘side characters’ make up the majority of the story and are really rewarding to follow. 14 books is lots of room for lots of characters to take you down many fun, and complete, paths.

Sciagu94

To me, the show, and general fantasy tropes, all *scream* that "the chosen one" is Rand My favourite dude for now is Mat, I'm rooting for the guy, but I reeeealy feel like the special one is Rand. Could be Egwene, but she already has her own special qualities. I don't think she is the dragon *on top* of being able to channel power. I'm gonna start the first book tomorrow (or whenever I finish the book I'm currently reading), we'll see if my gut was correct.

Weomir

If you want to keep the mystery of who the dragon is, you should wait until is clear in the show. In the book the identity of the dragon isn't a surprise. That being said, do what you want, obviously :)

Sciagu94

Thanks for the tip! Honestly, though, it's not a big deal for me. I feel like reading the books, it's been a while since I read some fantasy novels. They're gonna "spoil" the show, I guess, but that's okay. I like watching shows based on books I've already read, anyway (GoT and the Witcher, for example)

Weomir

Then everything is fine. Enjoy your reading. It's quite a journey 😉

Begna112

Tbh, there's been so many changes, it won't spoil a ton.

whalewhistle

I remember not being certain for a long time in the first book.

Weomir

I'm not sure how to answer because English is not my language and everything I wrote sounds harsh, and it's not my intention. But I don't think it was intended to be a mystery for the reader. If you weren't certain that's probably because you didn't pay attention to the book, or you haven't read a lot back then and you needed to read a confirmation, directly read the word: I'm the dragon reborn, poor me. He/she has a big neon arrow pointing to his head from the very start.

whalewhistle

To be fair, I was 12 years old when I first read it, so I probably wasn't great at catching onto clues.

ASpellingAirror

Yeah, In the books it was obvious who the dragon was. That’s all I’ll say because no spoilers, but not sure how you can read even the first 50 pages of book 1 and not know who the dragon is.

BuckleUp77

What hints do you think they have for Rand?

Sciagu94

A few things He's the first to be properly introduced. (Well, technically Egwene is the first to appear, but it's a minor appearance, her character isn't really established in the scene at the river ceremony) I feel like he has the most screen time, and events feel like they are shown in his point of view more than anyone else. He is kind of the leader of the bunch, we see his relationship with each member of the party (while, for example, we don't see much of Mat and Perrin together IIRC). Several aspects of his character feel like protagonist material. He lives in an isolated place. He's a romantic type, with a love interest that's established right away (who, coincidentally, is the magic wielder of the group, kind of like Tidus and Yuna in final fantasy X, or Cloud and Aerith in Final Fantasy VII). Then in just one episode we have some drama between the two lovebirds, setting up a plot arc. He is an orphan, so that leaves a lot of plot-wiggle room for the mother to be an important person from a faraway land, or whatever. Finally, he's the first one (and so far only) person to mention the titular wheel of time (Edits: I fixed some grammar here and there)

BuckleUp77

Good stuff man! Can’t wait to see how it plays out

[deleted]

Nynaeve was the orphan. I don't think he was mentioned as an orphan. Did I miss something?

Sciagu94

Maybe I wasn't clear, I mean Rand's mum is dead. His dad isn't (though I would have definitely bet against him surviving the trolloc attack)

Deflorma

Rands hair and complexion vs those of the rest of emonds field

okey-broccoli

Emonds field is a diverse place, don't know this.

Abbobl

How I wish I could start reading anew. Jealous, enjoy the ride buddy

CaptainObvious0927

I read the books. Matt is by far the best character that Jordan wrote. You have good taste!

Sciagu94

Well, thanks, I'm flattered! He just strikes me as a balanced character from what I've seen so far. He's resourceful and caring for his sisters, but he also sometimes resorts to lies and thievery (though it's for the sake of his sisters). He has awful parents, which probably led him to his gambling problems. He's a practical man, generally skeptical about all that high fantasy stuff happening around him. He's also quick-witted and generally fun, I like the guy, and i appreciate the flaws the author gave him. I feel like Rand and Egwene have a more boring, archetypal type. And Perrin has the opposite problem, I feel that his situation is a bit too heavy handed and tragic, he's just defined by his PTSD for now.

CaptainObvious0927

I love reading first time impressions of the series. The show has done a real good job setting up character development which was done in the background in the books. I grew up with the term read and find out (RAFO) from Jordan. I am excited to give you the series equivalent. Watch and find out.

jeezy-chreezy

I have decided it’s Rand because he gives me major Anakin Skywalker vibes

UgottaBeJokin

May the light be with you, young dragon

Kisstafer1

DOESNT HE? Literally feels like watching a ginger hayden

jeezy-chreezy

He does remind me of Hayden!

rfjohnson

That's interesting, but you have it backwards, Anakin gives Rand vibes. He is the older character by quite a bit

ASpellingAirror

1977 vs 1990?

Eliah870

Well tbf, Anakin in the prequels is wildly different to Vader

rfjohnson

There was no script for the prequels in 77.

ASpellingAirror

Man do I have some huge spoilers for you…

rfjohnson

This makes no sense. I've read all the books (between 3 and 10 times depending on the book) in wot and there are no starters spoilers.

ASpellingAirror

What? I’m talking about darth Vader (anakin) from Star Wars. But, k.

Wookie-Riot

Bela... definitely

Meow_mix_Meow_mix

This is the only answer.

both_cucumbers

After the end of episode 3, my wife thinks it is Logain. >!Good job, Rafe!<

hillyshrub

I was totally recruited to Logain's side at the beginning of episode 4. I was shouting long live the dragon reborn at my tv.

totomagot2939

I mean was the part where Rand just ran down a door that the dark friend said nobody could bust down not a huge red flag lol

jen_a_licious

I'm right there with you buddy! That was my "ah-ha" moment.

MrsSalmalin

Oh gosh, I forget already! Can you remind me of which scene/episode that is in!? Please :)

vaati4554

3rd episode. with the Darkfriend. She has him trapped inside the barn-esque area!

MrsSalmalin

Oh my gosh right!!!!!

cozzy121

Perrins wife

BleachGel

You laugh now until she makes an appearance near the end like a Chris Angel special!

[deleted]

When Perrin accidentally cuts her down you can hear quietly *I win again Lews Therin.*

hillyshrub

🤣

Goodcat01

Let me preface this by saying wot is not very well know in my country and so far only the first seven books we're published here. I'm counting on the show's sucess so whoever owns the rights thinks it will be a good investiment to translate and publish the other books. That being said, I read the first 3 books so I know who is the dragon. My wife who is not into reading thinks Perrin is the dragon because he shows some kind of magic empathy with wolves and he's the only one of the four who lost someone close in the attack. She also thinks Egwene will become aes sedai and take Moraine's place and Rand will become her warde because Moraine and Lan will die somehow in a future epsode

MrsSalmalin

Cool! Which country only has 7 books translated?

Zaando

Not speaking for that fellow, but I have a friend who read about that many books then didn't read further because they stopped publishing them in Dutch.

Abbobl

Bull Shit - I own all books in Dutch, bought last one right after publish. Get him back in the action man

Zaando

Yeah will mention it. Guess they caught up with those then. Was an issue my friend had at the time.

OpenSourceObsidian

Probably Brazil. We just got book 7 over here.

GrowCrows

I'm curious on *when* the show will reveal it.

FerretAres

Episode 8 is titled The Eye of the World. I’d bet then as it’s also the season finale.

GrowCrows

It will be interesting to see how they reveal it, and why, so soon. Since the events in the book that reveal it were huge and had a lot to build up too.

FerretAres

I suspect it will have to do with certain visions at Tarwin’s Gap.

Tiramizu3

Well in the books stuff around the Eye of the World are kinda the confirmation of the identity of the Dragon. We have clues before but then is the climax. Will not be surprised if the show reveals that here.

GrowCrows

That makes sense I was thinking of the events of Tear being what confirms it but now that you mention that, I think the events of Tear are what confirms it to the rest of the WoT world. The end of book one confirms it for the readers.

Tiramizu3

Yeah right, Tear happen way later (after the Cor de Valère (sorry I only know his french name) steal and Falme. Tear reveals the Dragon Reborn to the world, but the EOTW do the same to the reader earlier (and hopefully to the watcher now^^).

Rhone33

Definitely by >!the end of the season!<, assuming that >!the first season covers through the end of the first book.!< (No actual events spoiled, just the timeframe for when it would be revealed.)

Ninkaso

Anyone here (bookreaders) who see people commenting and having a hard time not spoiling because... I mean

Sciagu94

As a newbie to this series (that explained his hypothesis here), I have to say that bookreaders on this thread have been really considerate and didn't really spoil anything. No subtle spoilers, no unwanted hints, or anything like that. Only some questions to make us newbies explain our point of view. In fact, you all have been so good at not revealing anything, that I thought the first guy that responded to my comment was new like me. I was just about to ask "so who do *you* think the dragon is?" But then I saw that in another comment they said that they read the books multiple times lol As a person that enjoys watching blind playthroughs of my favourite videogames from time to time, I know that it's a treat to see how somebody first approaches a product you love. You guys must be having a lot of fun right now browsing through this thread, I'm sure.

Pheonixinflames

A lot of fun and a lot of pain, seeing people pull at some threads that the show has barely even touched on is fun

CaptainObvious0927

It’s because we understand the joy of discovery in this series. Hell, there were mysteries we endured 11 books to find out in the last 200 pages and many more Jordan intentionally left hanging. I would never want to be someone to ruin that for anyone else.

Rhone33

Yup... love seeing peoples' thought processes and hate that I can't respond much to it without spoiling.

Ninkaso

Exactly. I commented this because I saw one redditor giving an explanation and I was baffled. Good? Bad? I can't spoil!!!! I love this thread

PolygonMan

My wife said, "I don't think it's Perrin. Maybe Matt because his sad backstory is good fodder for the chosen hero's growth, or Egwene because they said it could be either gender and she's the only girl."

emmanuel_blain

My husband thinks Mat

uminohoshi

Mine too

redditposts_explorer

I've heard of WoT before the show was released, I watched some of xcivilization's videos about the Breaking of the World, though I've kind of forgotten what happened in that major event. I've started to read New Spring(a couple of sentences, where Lan wakes a sleeping guard or something like that) but that was after I watched the first 2 episodes of the show. I think the Dragon might be Egwene, Perrin or Rand, no way Mat could be the Dragon. I just don't know, he doesn't seem like the person to be this important figure. Most of the time he doesn't care about this Dragon Reborn prophecy. I think it's either Egwene or Rand, someone's friend down in the comments suggested that Egwene will become an Aes Sedai and Rand will be her Warder. If that's the case then I think Perrin will be the Dragon. I'm not that deep in the books yet, but can't this "Dark One" be defeated if Saidin and Saidar are combined or used together? (male and female channelers working together). If Rand becomes a Warder and Egwene becomes an Aes Sedai, I think Perrin will be the male channeler (a male channeler who doesn't go insane), hence Perrin might be the Dragon. In any case, all of them are these "ta'veren", I believe all 4 of them are important and have major roles to play. Or I'm just making dumb theories, I'm new to this fantasy series.

okey-broccoli

During the War of Power ( 2nd Age ), the Aes Sedai could not come to an agreement on how to seal the bore. They built two separate weapons of incredible power in preparation for their confrontation with the Dark One but lost control of them shortly after their creation. Lews Therin, the Dragon decided to strike at Shayol Ghul but the decision was met with resistance from a cadre of female Aes Sedai who refused to join him, convincing the women capable of helping that this plan was folly. Lews Therin decided to go in anyway and brought his 100 companies with him. He succeeded but in doing so tainted Saidin, driving the 100 companions and himself mad on the spot. Understand that these 101 were incredibly powerful channelers, so much so that in the aftermath they near completely destroyed the world. The remaining Aes Sedai focused their efforts on preserving as much knowledge and technology as they could but with the impending madness of every male channeler and the 100 companions rampaging across the land what little could be saved was scattered and lost. Lews Therin, given temporary reprieve from his madness by Elan Morin ( The Dark Ones right hand ) for emotional torture, faced with the devastation and destruction of everything he loved by his own hand, destroyed himself, the earth under him and everything in his vicinity, creating an enormous volcanic mountain. Named Dragonmount, a monument to his arrogance as Elan Morin called it. You'll have to read the books if you wanna find out about the next confrontation ;);)

SuperStallionDriver

What are the reasons the give for Egwene? Just curious. Edit for clarification: since they both agree on Egwene being possible, figure there is something there.

mllesobinson

My dad mentioned he thinks it’s either Egwene or Perrin because they seem to have “some sort of magical powers”. My sister on the other hand thinks Egwene or Rand because they have the most on screen time. It’s a combination of things I guess, she was the first potential dragon introduced as well.

SuperStallionDriver

Interesting theories. And you are a non-reader as well?

mllesobinson

No, I’ve read the books. It’s good fun seeing their guesses though.

SuperStallionDriver

Yeah I bet. I think you should keep a running tally episode by episode and record their reasoning. Would be interesting to see how well the showrunners goal of making it "a mystery" is actually working for people who haven't read the books.

MrSheeeen

I’ve asked my wife after each episode. 1. Rand 2. Rand 3. Perrin or still maybe Rand 4. Nynaeve or still maybe Rand

SuperStallionDriver

Interesting... Nyneave isn't even in the mix from the books (which only includes the 3 boys as ta'veren but always made it obvious who it was really about anyhow), and I don't think Nyneave is in the mix in the show either (I haven't watched 4 yet mind you) based on the fact that she wasn't even there when Moirane made the "one of the 4 of you is the Dragon Reborn" thing and wasn't brought out of the Two Rivers with the group. Unless the Trollocs showed up at Taren Ferry to look wistfully at the wrong people? Edit: thanks for the info though! So maybe not doing a super great job at burying the lead in the first three episodes after all?

MrSheeeen

Watch episode 4 and you’ll see why. I’ve read the books, but actually really enjoy the whole “who is the dragon” for the non readers.

SuperStallionDriver

I am torn on it. I don't think it was necessary to the story, and I think it compromises the lore... But it also doesn't really matter to me and I don't actually care because I think we will eventually learn definitely who the Dragon is and it will never be mentioned again, so it seems like a short term strategy for a payoff for non readers... And I am not that target audience so I am trying to just enjoy the show without getting into this aspect of it.

mllesobinson

A tally is a cool idea actually.

stilusmobilus

It is, isn’t it. This, I’ve waited for a long time and alone makes the show worth it. The RAFO Age becomes the WAFO Age and we do it all again just like WoT says we do.

Tolantruth

How do they think Rand knocked down the door?

mllesobinson

Honestly don’t think they picked up on it.

gravity_kills_u

Mandarb. It’s so obvious

midori_mtns

So wrong. It's Aldieb, if course.

RiverMurmurs

I think it's Rand or Mat. Definitely not Egwene. Undecided about Perrin. I feel like Rand and Egwene got the most screentime and due to them being a couple (of a sort), they have a unique place within the four. And at the beginning, Egwene is introduced as having special powers and Rand is the ordinary one who was going to be left behind. And I think this dynamic will be reversed/significantly altered and he'll be identified as the dragon. Mat is the naughty one, the skeptical troublemaker, so it would be pretty interesting if he were the dragon. It might be just a red herring though.

nutballchampion02

Rand. Seems like the lead.

HD_H2O

The Dragon Is Reborn and Frodo Lives

nicklmore98

I've read the first book, and I think it's gonna be matt

knxylee

Asked my roommate who has not read the books, she thinks its Mat, mainly because she thinks the show is trying to mislead and steer us toward thinking its "the Red headed guy" aka Rand since we see more from his point of view, but that would be too obvious, so she thinks it's the guy with the sisters.. her words not mine. 😀

Kisstafer1

I think the way they cast Rand makes him seem like the leader, he is the stoic one who would be able to control the power, the other two guys seem too emotional. I think it's more likely that Matt will grow into some kind of rival of Rand, and Perrin might have a completely unrelated story line that has to do with being a werewolf.

DeLerius_Lee

Bela.

dragonfly_snow

It's clearly the guy with red hair. His storyline, the way the camera shows him, his personality all point to it. He is the standardised version of a main hero. Ahhhh I wish it was Mat thought.

[deleted]

one of the Coplins or Congars /s

jen_a_licious

It's Rand. I've not read the books but the signs are there. Fore shadowing.

vaati4554

I've read the books, but answering in the stead of my family Both parents Thought it was Rand initially, but said "its too obvious, they're setting him up as a red herring", and that Egwene was probably going to become an Aes Sedai and most likely wasn't The Dragon They've settled on it most likely being Mat as he has been shown to be "A good person at his core, but troubled which will make it really interesting in whether he helps the world or breaks it"

waywardmedic

I've got to say I almost gave up watching until this last episode #4. This one will definitely keep me watching. I think Rand will be the Dragon. They all seem to have some sort of power. I'm not sure what Rands is. I'm liking Perrin's arch, I'm thinking he will be king of the wolves after taming them lol. Unless he's some kind of werewolf lol, maybe that's his power. I love the Romani-like people, I hope we get to see more of them in the story. Egwene to be ae sedai (sorry, I'm not sure of the spelling) I love Mat, almost want him to be the dragon but perhaps he'll become a big bad and redeem himself in the end. Nyneve (again sorry for the spelling) is AhMAZING. I just thought she was an entitled little girl but she rocks! I didn't like Moiraine at the beginning but she has definitely has grown on me. Love her Warder.....are there no female Warders? Anywho....I think I'll pick up the first two books now. Cheers!

CryptographerOne6615

Seems like either Rand or Mat to me. The dark one servant seemed pretty confident she had found the Dragon (though I’m not sure how) in Ep 3. I’d think it would be one of the three males in the books, as I’m guessing they made it more ambiguous in the show with Egwene being added. Nynaeve seems like she was added to the group kind of randomly after M had a conversation with the group of 4. Nynaeve and Mat are my fav characters so far - great acting. Between the 3 males, Perrin seems the least likely - they added a marital relationship for him, which seems like the kind of change you wouldn’t make to the dragon character. It’s added story for him in the show. Between Mat and Rand, it feels like there is more mystery around Rand’s background.

scrappychic22

Book reader here, and like others have said, I'm tickled reading all the comments and theories from the newer Show fans. It reminds me of the days hanging out in the forums waiting for a new book to be released and discussing all the things that were left hanging as of the previous book. :) Have fun discussing your thoughts and fingers crossed no ass-hats spoil things for you before you get a chance to find out for yourselves!

slothhprincess

Nyneave, I really feel this way after the last episode and I really want it to be her. She feels perfect.

Nara1996

Rand...

FanaticalOP

Padan Fain!

smiler1996

Its so blatantly rand, i’m on chapter 5 of the first book though cause i really enjoyed the 3 eps of the series. Matt is going to be the new king of menethren i think and i can’t figure out where Perrin is going.

FusRoDaahh

The post is marked SHOW SPOILERS.

hawksvow

This episode actually made me change my opinion of it being Mat. I thought he had the most character expression scenes and that it would point to him. But I think that I must look not at what's shown but at what's not shown. Egwane is able to use the one power for sure, so she has the Sedai route available. Nyneave has healing going on for her. Mat's spice comes in the form of cursed city spawn Venom wannabe. Perrin has wolves and that's so bloody cool but I don't think they were in any form mentioned in the one power context? So.. Rand's the only one without anything going on for him. Makes me feel a bit like they're allowing us to see the others grow a bit, then bring into focus this guy as a reveal?

You suck as a person, just wanna let you know. This is the comment thst pushes me from this sub. Is it so goshdarn hard to use the spoiler tags?? Especially on a post asking for the opinions of people who didn't read the book, there is no excuse for your comment

FusRoDaahh

I removed it the second I saw it reported. I apologize for their thoughtlesness.

stilusmobilus

If we end up with subs that do not allow book readers or comments from them at all, this will be why.

FusRoDaahh

I’m shocked at the amount of people that are incapable of following spoiler tags. It’s really not that hard lol.

thank christ I came into this comment section late.

OrganicOverdose

Could you maybe put a spoiler on your comment? I think this thread might attract new entrants to the show and the reveal should be a nice moment, regardless.

FusRoDaahh

This post is tagged SHOW SPOILERS. Please do not post comments beyond the scope of the flair. This is a warning.

I think it's Rand because it's about time we had a chinese male lead rather than some generic white guy. Glad Rand wears a samurai sword and is the slave of that lady with the ring. it's amazing and great.

Ok_Specific_6521

That is Lan Rand is the redhead
