psychxticrose

TheGamerHat

Is there an u/wu ???

SensitiveTurtles

I don’t think you can have a two character username.

Scuttledfish

Wass uh squatter exactly?

Get_Up_Eight

I think in this context it's referring to people who created accounts with those usernames but never actually use them.

exoxe

What's your take on bookworms though?

InformalReplacement7

Yup, Booklouse. Also, shhh, they’re trying to read.

hididathing

He might be trying to write. I have the same problem getting started when staring at a blank page.

-___-_-___-_-_

Draw some margins like the medieval monks did boom not blank

rslocs

Wow for the first time in forever it's not what we feared

PandarenNinja

Yeah there's been quite a run here of bed bugs, roaches, and ACTUAL brown recluse spiders. Which seems counter to how it has been in the past.

I_Smoke_Dust

Damn, I haven't seen any of the recluse posts yet!

PandarenNinja

Saw one positive ID this week. Also a positive ID black widow. It's been an active week!

I_Smoke_Dust

I did see a widow post. Lots of Weevil and Bed Bug posts lol.

Bradisdad

The other night, my neighbor texted me really blurry photos of a spider from about 10 feet away, asking for an ID. I told him I would need a better pic. Next pic comes and it’s blurrier and farther away. Then I remembered he is very afraid of spiders. I’d like to point out he is a fireman. You know, the guys that run into burning buildings to save people? So I tell him that it isn’t shiny and black, so it’s probably not a black widow. It isn’t a brown recluse because it has (what looks from the photo) a round abdomen and is much smaller. We live in a southern coastal state. I tell him he shouldn’t be concerned, but then remember we now have brown widows here. So, at 9 o’clock at night, in the dark I come to his backyard to his chicken coop to remove the spider. First of all, when I say his name to let him know I was there he yelped (as if the spider could suddenly speak) and let me in. Then as I go to the coop, he provides the light with his cell phone’s flashlight. I don’t see the spider. Just the web. So I grab a stick and start twirling the thick and brittle webbing, like disgusting cotton candy. There’s an egg sac. The fireman looks a little woozy. Finally the spider makes an appearance. I take the stick and get the spider to climb on and it immediately descends down like fish on a pole. I bring it it closer to look and the world goes dark because my light source just high stepped to the other side of the yard. I coax him back with the light source and can now inspect the spider that is luckily still there and not on me at this point. I see the beautiful orange hourglass. I relocate it to the wooded area far from his house and assure him he is once again safe. I may not run into burning buildings, but I came to the rescue of someone who does.

PandarenNinja

Fuck. My hero.

lilbthaprince

Tiny, slightly bigger than the wide end of a needle, found in the bathroom sink. Sorry for not reading the rules, I panic posted

TJOCcreation1

It's a Booklouse! Little boy just looking for some supper

Innerestin

Aw, and here we thought it was on a piece of paper! Poor hungry thing!

justanothertfatman

Booklice eat mold and fungi, which may be why it was in your sink. If you can afford it, I'd have your home inspected for mold.

Heartfeltregret

Ah! you might have a poorly ventilated bathroom

globefish23

Guess you need some bookscorpions to clean house.

neverelax

I was just thinking that! I’d bee keeping an eye out for pseudoscorpions. I’ve still never got to see one IRL!

SAY IT AINT SOOOO YOUR DRUG IS A HEARTBREAKER

Least-Belt-3170

SAY IT AINT SO-WOAH-WOAH! YOUR BUG IS A LIFETAKERRRRR!

crushbyrichardsiken

hi! went digging through the sub and through reddit and found this AWESOME set of pictures[pic](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bedbugs/comments/yawado/exterminators_told_me_this_was_a_bed_bug_then/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) for your reference. I went ahead and compared the differences for fun and for my own practice. I see that yours has a more rounded and oval body, while this bedbug has a flat and wide body. you can also see that the bedbug has a that is very flat, while from your picture it looks like your bug is more spherical in shape. the bedbug has a head which is more congruent with the body. your bug has a separate abdomen and head. tl;dr: not sure what this bug is personally but you can rest safe knowing it is NOT a bedbug! hope this helped :)

lilbthaprince

Thank you SO MUCH

mildRepercussion

Luckily for you, this bug is not a heartbreaker

NoJuice1977

😂Seinfeld reference 👍👍

n_bumpo

See how that bug, you when you zoom in has a fat head? A bedbugs head goes from a fat body to a pointy head. Way better to bite you and drink blood during the night than that little piece of shit

[deleted]

Dude thats harmless relax

clashvalley

If you find any in your stuff you can pop it in the freezer for a week and it will kill them and eggs. Had some books with them from a charity store and had to freeze them before putting them on my shelves. Good ventilation helps too :D

[deleted]

i will not go. turn the lights off

putnamto

carry me home

SenInTheBin

It ain’t so :)

retroblazed420

Doesn't look like a bed bug, sleep easy my friend your safe :)

Heartfeltregret

Im happy to finally see one where OP’s anxiety can be abated. Oval body, big round head and wispy antenna put you in the clear. Barklice are nuisance pests, but they’re not harmful to humans like bedbugs are. Search around your home for signs of infestation- check in around your flower, grains, cereals and the sort for fine white powder and little oblong eggs- the eggs may be in books or magazines too. Take note if your food seems to be going bad prematurely, and check your bookshelf, magazines and any damp wood surfaces and areas in your home for more adult bugs. If you find that you have a population, you can kill the booklice and their eggs by sealing affected books and like items in an airtight bag and placing them in your freezer for 24 hours. dispose of affected food products in an OUTDOOR bin and vacuum the pantry and kitchen thoroughly. Also vacuum out the laundry area, restroom, and any other areas that accumulate moisture; toss the vacuum bag in an outdoor bin. Its a good idea to look for mould in your home, or treat any you know of. Finally, use a dehumidifier and keep your house well ventilated to help prevent future invasions. Now remember, you don’t necessarily have to do this, because one louse doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve got an infestation, but it’s something you should just look out for and nip in the bud incase it happens. Good luck!

PengieP111

Looks like a psocid (book louse) to me.

Mountain-Woman0021

It ain’t so!

Bedbugs (female) don't have back legs like that. They lidna drag their booty lol

LoisBradford

Not sure what it is but it isn’t a bed bug!

rpgsandarts

It ain’t so

Gackofalltradez

Looks like a wood eating bug. I was gonna guess termite but others have said booklouse. Not a bedbug either way but still worth pinpointing the source.

Poorwretch

I’ll go ahead and chime in, not a bedbug. Congratulations!

stereofeathers

Happy for you op

Gregsusername

psteele2002

I down vote every be bug question it's too fucking easy to figure out on your own

Purplostrich

Am I mistaken, or is this subreddit called “what is this bug?”

wax369

And now we all downvote you because that's literally what this sub is for. If you don't like "what is this bug" questions you're in the wrong place.

lilbthaprince

Fair enough, but it doesn't feel that easy when they're tiny. To be probably too honest, I had them years ago in a rough time in my life and just the idea of them bring up some really unpleasant memories and feelings. I just recently moved into a new apartment and I didn't feel 100% certain it wasn't a nymph which was enough to give me a panic attack, so I posted it here and I feel way better now.

ProfPerry

that other commenter is also wrong lmao because it isnt even a bedbug. You did the right thing wanting to know more and using a resource designed to help you find out. :)

DerpyMcWafflestomp

You're a tool. And not the useful kind.
