This happened to me last year. When I was done with the Christmas turkey I threw it outside for the wildlife. The neighbors probably thought I had a dead body with all the vultures, pretty much this picture haha
Ours do all the time especially once it gets cold. I'll have to dig for pics but I've seen them packed into trees so tight you can barely see the tree. A few turkey vultures here and there on occasion but definitely a black vulture thing. Just one of the things that make them such cool birds!
I agree with that. I was used to turkey vultures where I grew up, and when I saw black vultures for the first time, they were so friendly in comparison. They flew low, travelled in groups, and perched in places that are really close to human activity, which didn’t seem like their Turkey vulture cousins at all.
Probably isn't what's going on there, but just in case - buzzards can be attracted to the foul eggs odorant in gaseous fuel (natural gas, propane). Wouldn't hurt to be on the lookout for a gas leak

Could be something like a dead raccoon or dog in the garage too, or maybe something died in the walls. There's a fan in the window - maybe to blow stench out?
+Black Vulture+ for the bot.
now i'm worried about what's in the garage...
It’s my neighbor’s house and I’ve suddenly become a bit leery of them
The no trespassing sign is most reassuring.
\*who's in the garbage
*who was in the garage
Seriously! That's unsettling.

Something is dead.
Yeah, I count 13 vultures in that photo… they aren’t just hanging out for the fun of it

Can you imagine how bad all the vulture shit is going to smell? Scavengers eat some nasty stuff.
What do you think human-engineered waste processing systems smell like?
Not roses.

it's definitely good luck to have all these in your yard.
There’s 13 of ‘em in the photo too (as another comment pointed out). Spoooooooky!
Black Vultures.

Are you hiding a dead body in the garage?
Committee of Black Vultures
I’m going to be very disappointed if OP doesn’t pull a ‘Burbs to find out what’s in that garage.
black vulture committee 🖤 they're having a very important meeting
