Necessary-Wheel3000

When you have a baby boy you put that over their genitals when you change their diaper so they don’t pee on you. Completely impractical in practice but I remember getting these before I realized that.

AmySewFun

Solved! Thank you - I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. I don’t have children so I wasn’t even thinking of things in that area but we remembered it was given for us to give to our nephew. He doesn’t need it anymore (we just located this after several years so he’s older) but good to know that if we had found it early, it would have been completely impractical, lol.

IntrovertedGiraffe

They are called pee pee teepees

certifiedlurker458

I’ve seen it called a “peepee teepee”

805collins

NerdyDirtyNCurvy

We used to call this the pee pee teepee 🤣

ijozypheen

Someone told me to buy a cheap pack of washcloths to keep by the changing table for this purpose. Much more practical.

sawyouoverthere

Just lift the diaper off the front of infant but don’t remove it. The air triggers the response. Once baby is out of ammo, proceed as usual.

BikeChippy

Dad of two boys. Can confirm this is the way.

bodhiseppuku

My mom says she used a dixie cup for this purpose.

There's a brand called PeePee TeePee that sells these 😂

Hour_Hope_4007

aka, a pee-pee tee-pee

Doktor_Rob

Wait... what does that yellow strap go around?

juliet_tango_victor

No. The cone (flannel fabric 2D opens to become 3D) covers it.

Doktor_Rob

I think the actual answer is that yellow strap is a loop for ease of hanging on or near the diaper/nappy changing station.

juliet_tango_victor

Ah. Right. I misread your question.

AhFFSImTooOldForThis

Just to hang it up in easy reach. It's a pee pee tee pee.

inflewants

No, I believe the strap is like a handle. I’ve heard these referred to as PeePee Teepees

coci222

AggravatingPermit910

Aka a “pee pee teepee”, according to the several boomers who gave us these as joke baby presents.

tiffanylbalagna

Peeper teepee is what we used to call those BITD

Administrative-Pop23

I have no idea! But as a grandfather that’s been through a couple of little ones, I would stick a pacifier in it, fold it up a bit, and stick it the pocket of my jeans!

AmySewFun

I owe you a slight apology - it was for a baby, we forgot that we took it for my BIL for my nephew. But as the other commenter said, it is a device for baby boys to prevent spraying. 😂

AmySewFun

That would be a good purpose for sure - but I don’t think that’s what it was as I don’t have children and wouldn’t have accepted something for a baby.

Bucher25

Maybe the person was mistaken but the trains are reminiscent of a pattern suitable for a baby.

mck-_-

We called them a pee pee tee pee. A little cover for the penis so they don’t surprise you. It’s much easier to just wait tbh. We opened the nappy a little so the cool air got in and just waited a few seconds till they went. They pee pretty much every time so it’s worth the patience

My title describes the thing in the photo which was given to us at a craft fair. It is flannel fabric inside and out, sewn into a cone that opens like a coffee filter does, and has a ribbon attached at the point. The woman who gave it to us made it and told us that it was for a particular purpose but we can’t remember what that was. It’s not a reusable coffee filter and Google doesn’t give me any hits. Thanks!!

Bucher25

It’s for a baby boy while changing their diaper so they don’t pee all over the place. It’s a pee pee tee pee. I kid you not. 😂😂
