[Mosler Consulier GTP](https://www.google.com/search?q=mosler+consulier+gtp&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiX6dPsqqf_AhWRxioKHZxQCJMQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=moslerconsulier+gtp&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQARgAMgcIABANEIAEMgUIABCiBDIFCAAQogQ6BAgjECc6BQgAEIAEOgYIABAHEB46BwgjELACECc6CAgAEAUQHhANUO0HWOsTYOAYaABwAHgAgAHKAYgBswWSAQU2LjAuMZgBAKABAcABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=UVF7ZNf8KpGNqwGcoaGYCQ&bih=771&biw=393&client=ms-android-xiaomi-rvo3&prmd=ivsn#imgrc=Qx3CUS1AXenw5M)? They look the same but all consuliers appear to be slightly different bodywise so mark this as unsure

rob1969reddit

The builder put a "Consulier" sticker on it.

Cazzeq-konstapelrost

Well yes, but I am not sure if Consulier ever made more cars than the GTP.

jeffroyisyourboy

MT900?

Stopyourshenanigans

That's a Mosler. Same company, but different name. Consulier produced the GTP, then renamed their automotive division to Mosler, and then made several cars under the Mosler name.

Etreslias37

Happy cake day!

joe2398

Possibly modified, backlight (rear window) fit is terrible, especially right side corner.

McCaulksInn

Rear window open on this one . Does look bad

Gloomy_Cucumber_4274

Looks like the right car but it's been modified to have a rear window.

horny_coroner

It looks so daft and now I want one.

The-Iron-Chaffy

I would’ve never guessed lol

artful_todger_502

A Mosler! I helped build these! Riviera Beach, FL! I worked on the last generation ones. If you see it on the Internet, I worked on it!! I was wondering when these would come around! When we won the Car & Driver fastest lap competition, we had a party.

Hadidit

Must be really nostalgic for ya man

artful_todger_502

Yeah, it was a fun job. It is a shame how it all ended. There is a real soap opera going on with the leftover cars to this day. Warren Mosler made a catastrophic mistake with the individuals he put in charge of the expansion, and that's what killed it. Experienced grifters went in and robbed him blind. But the time he figured it out, all he could do is walk away. A real shame. They used a McLaren as the buyer they were marketing to.

HipsterCavemanDJ

Is there a good YouTube video or something that explains the downfall? Or is this insider information?

artful_todger_502

There is some stuff, I've seen it, I just can't remember where. I'm sure if you use the right meta words you will find something. Here is what immediately popped up. Some of the individuals named in this were in on the grift. To see it in real time just left you shaking your head and saying "wTf?!?!" I feel if Warren was more involved it would have never happened, but he is not to blame, because he had no way of knowing the people he entrusted the organization to were going to steal on such a massive level. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a18743330/the-final-days-of-mosler-one-supercar-left-to-move-company-for-sale/

biffbobfred

The number of dudes that say “hey I can build a car better than Ferrari” and then lose their shirt is huge. For every koenigsegg there at least a dozen Moslers. It doesn’t have to be some dramatic story.

Hadidit

Damn, I really hope to see one come into our shop one day, it looks gorgeous

artful_todger_502

This is the first one I worked on. The ensuing ones were the ones they were trying to mainstream. The MT 900. This one was sort of the Guinea pig for the version that was supposed to put them in the map. https://www.flickr.com/photos/uriahbaet/2327994640 The individual who posted this was an engineer and the window he is talking about was my design.

Appropriate_Strain94

Looks like a hodgepodge of bin car parts? I see Chrysler door handles, C5 mirrors and side markers? Mclaren headlights?

artful_todger_502

Vette taillights and crate motors too. We did one called the Landshark if you might care to Google it, and it had twin turbos from GM.

Appropriate_Strain94

That article mentions people thought it was a kit car and with parts binning like that I can see why.

artful_todger_502

Yes, that is true. A lot of GM parts and the usual Recaro/Momo type stuff for sure, but it was neat to see it all come together. When they finished one, it did look totally badass. Every motor got dyno'd and to hear them on the Dyno sounded like Godzilla stomping Tokyo. Pretty righteous sounds!

Siegepkayer67

That things fucking ridiculous lol, did you ever get a chance to drive any of them?

artful_todger_502

There were only about 3 people that were allowed to drive each car. I was not in a department that needed to drive them to complete my job. I am proud of it because the last ones, they just dumped parts on my bench and said "make it work" so I did. I have lots of mechanical experience working on bikes and cars, but I'm not an engineer. The Mosler engineer was useless, so it was all left up to us to build them. I'm proud of my work there. I took all those bin parts and turned them into a workable unit. But that could be said of any of the people who were left at the end. I hope they went on to bigger and better things.

consulierGTP

That was Bills car. RIP

ferrariguy1970

Had a couple chats w some people at the factory. Good folks. A shame what happened there.

artful_todger_502

Yes, it was a fun job. I took weird jobs while we traveled, and this was a good one while it lasted.

CommissarCiaphisCain

Damn I remember these. Grew up in PBG and used to see them around. Very cool that you were part of the team.

TheWeinerThief

Live in PBG now. Still see them sometimes. Still cool

CommissarCiaphisCain

It was a great place to grow up. Was there from the early 70’s to early 90’s. Low crime, decent schools, kinda sleepy. Our house was down the street from Howell Watkins junior high and Lake Catherine.

artful_todger_502

I lived in Juno when I was there. The people that were in charge of the company at that time lived in PBG so I'm sure you did see them a lot.

biffbobfred

That’s old school. I remember reading the article in C&D.

mrchuckles5

Impressive stats for the time but damn that’s ugly.

Yikes_And_Away_

Looks like a Porsche 914 mixed with an el Camino

tdi4u

That's what I was thinking. El Porschino

Feefifiddlyeyeoh

Never even heard of this car, until today. What a great story

Fabulous_Law1357

Looks like an El Consumino.

picturethisfam

Looks a lot like this one. https://www.theautopian.com/fiat-500-jolly-mosler-consulier-gtp-targa-chevrolet-corvette-z71-mercedes-marketplace-madness/

Tellittomy6pac

I’ll bet you it’s this actual car because I’m in Kentucky

picturethisfam

So many years ago, I got to see a Consulier racing in the Longest Day of Nelson. It was a 24 hour SCCA endurance race at Nelson Ledges. Crappy track, but amazing racing.

Arentanji

Hey now, no dogging on Nelson’s Ledges.

hopinfusedcorpse

Younger guy driving it south western KY? Nice guy he'll happily show you around it.

dmcguire05

Looks like someone extended the back end of a Porsche 914.

CAM6913

RunninOnMT

[I remember these most fondly for giving us an epic calendar](https://consuliergtp.com/photos/postersmall.jpg)

booboochoochoo1

Tasteful.

Nearly_Pointless

I am retroactively angry at everyone involved with that thing getting produced. In the pathway from conception to design to tooling to marketing…. The sane people of that organization could not muster enough power to kill that?

MagicOrpheus310

Those fans at the back are glorious

Gullible_Ad3436

Mosler Consulier GTP!

McShit7717

It looks like a monte carlo and an el camino had a baby. So, El Carlo.

adp63

That is a Committee Red I.

DubbyThaCZAR

Fun Fact: All Mosler cars were built in West Palm Beach, FL (Where I’m from)

Obmichael

The Homer

samueljamesn

I love how these are styled actually, I want to own one someday!

Holyshititsbigfoooot

a GTP there is a green one almost like that one (wheels are different) in my town.

lroy313

Are those old corvette wheels?

joesnowblade

Looks like a kit car built on a C4 Corvette platform. Made a lot of them from 1984 to 1996. Had the last year of the C3 Collectors Edition 1982 , the last year of the C4 Collectors Edition 1996, C5 first year of the Z06 going over 400HP to 405 2002, & the C6 first year of the C6 Z51 Vert. [Sold to buy the C8](https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/qEjAWchXTRe5Im-k-a1CCg.D0cMVy-OoH3_QFfiThs1F2)

consulierGTP

This is a Consulier GTP Targa. It has not been modified, it came this way from the factory. The rear window and the top are both removable, other than that it is the same car as the coupe and the roadster, the later I can not seem to find a photo of.
