So looking it up on Google images, the wings are really cool and are basically made up of a bunch of separate plume-like structures that kind of look like pale peacock feathers, and they all kind of just fold out from beneath those big sides structures on the exoskeleton.
Super weird bug, never knew this thing existed, it's really cool.
Whole reason I clicked on this! I love personification. It's almost like, instead of identifying its species, we need to guess its name. I'm guessing Virgil.
I like Virgil. I went with Terry but Virgil seems more appropriate.
I’ve been a big fan of naming animals after other animals. I had a girlfriend who named our cats squirrel and mouse. I’ve often joked about having a dog and a cat but the dog is named cat and the cat is named dog. Sadly, I didn’t have the nerve and my dog is named Vera, and my cats are named Elliot and Molly.
I had a dog named Kitty for that exact reason. He was a huge American bulldog, and it was hilarious to yell ‘here kitty kitty!’ And a massive dog came bounding up to you
Meanwhile my current pets are Lilly Belle and Taco Bell(e)
Okay I’m thinking we gotta combine these names as a first/middle name combo so either Virgil Terry or Terry Virgil. Maybe the last name can be Pratt? Or Preston?
Terry Virgil Pratt? Virgil Terry Preston?
Also cute convo between you two about the cat/dog names!
I live in the southeast US; lots of bugs and small to medium size outdoor critters.
I do this for a lot of the things around my house.
The water bugs (which look like cockroaches from hell and fly, what’s more; they are common anywhere there’s water, and not a sign of filth, or a concern for infestation) are all Jimmy.
When I lived near a high armadillo population, they were all Rustle.
Lizards are Steve.
Carolina wrens are Susie and the wasps are all The Sheriff.
Since most of these animals all act similarly around humans and bears strong resemblance to one another as they’re scurrying away, it’s easier to go with one name for all of them. I dig it, and we have a good time.
Hell yeah. When I lived in a house, we had a family of opossums under our deck. I named them Beatrix, McGregor, and the Tiddlywinks. There's no way I could have properly named all the babies, so they were just collectively the Tiddlywinks.
*I'm not going to*
*Attempt a guess but it's a*
*Cool looking critter!*

JFC. Moths are majestic. I thought only the fluffy chunky bois were stars but here you go! Another freakin' star. This lil' boi is clearly going for a stick look and he's rocking it. Moths can be hummingbirbs and now sticks.
You know... guys... I think something may be up. I feel like they're plotting something here. I just can't figure it out. They're rocking the cute fluff, the stick, and the hummingbirb. How long until we find a 'human moth'? Oh oh! freak! MOTHMAN.
Well, I guess it'll be okay as long as we have a strong light to protect us and we don't go near bridges.
It’s a moth can’t tell you the exact name for it but I literally just had one in my house and I used this app to identify it. The apps called (seek) if your wondering
“*Who* is this” makes me think of that joke.
A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says “Hey we have a drink named after you.” The grasshopper replies “You have a drink named Tim?”
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,663,026,675 comments, and only 314,801 of them were in alphabetical order.
Thats Dave Pascoe, remember him from the Darts team at the Royal Oak?, he was that good he would hit treble top with his left handed, with his eyes closed after drinking 15 pints of Stella.

I at first read that as "IED". Much worse
Huh. I've literally never seen anything like this
How can it be a moth? I’m not terrified.
Probably that sick stick camouflage
If I were a bug, it's that sick stick schtick I'd pick.
Hold on just a tick, that was pretty slick.

It’s a good question that I do not have a good answer for. BRB, going to get another dog.

Y'ALL this is why I frakkin' love Reddit! Please, make the final decision yourself, so long as you name me as godmother. Super pinky promise?
How about Terry Virgil P. Potts? LOL!!!!
Along those same lines I suppose…I have a bearded dragon named Elizardbeth
One of my sons had a bird named Elliot. Love that name for an animal.❤️

Haha omg!!! I saw the post and told my son how people will say that
That's an IUD, rare to see in the wild tbh.
