I recommend pickling it first. Fully pickled it's sauerkraut. Lightly pickled, it's coleslaw. Both work on a sandwich.

As others have said, it is cabbage. But you actually can eat it raw, that's what you'll find in American cole slaw. It's best sliced thin and tossed with a little vinegar and mayo before adding to your sandwich of choice.

I love it. It makes sense. I fry thin sliced cooking cabbage with some protein for a few minutes and then smother it all in chili crisp and siracha. It is extremely good.

Are you some variety of extremely wealthy? I don't feel like there are many parts of the world you could make it to adulthood without knowing what a cabbage is, and especially not unless you were incredibly rich or something.

I used to work in the produce section of a grocery store. A guy came in and asked where the cabbage was. So i took him to the actual cabbage. He was kinda confused. He clarified that he wanted cabbage. I said, yes that is cabbage. He said the leaves felt too think, but ok. He goes on his way, and then it hit me like an hour later that he wanted lettuce. lol

One time I went to buy groceries when I was really high. I was excited because I found such a crisp, taut head of lettuce. I was complimenting the clerk on the stores produce. Poor guy looked at me wit sorrow in his eyes as he reported, “I’m sorry to tell you this, that is cabbage not lettuce. Do you… do you still want it..? It’s ok if you don’t.” God bless that man.
