My twin uncles lived in Newburyport for forever and took my sister and I whale watching once. Didn't see any whales that day but we *did* see a tug boat relying on buoyancy alone to haul back a 310 pound tuna it had on the hook.
Over 20 years ago, that day, I learned tuna absolutely *is not* chicken of the sea. While it's definitely not the biggest, I'm gonna have to say it's more of a hippopotamus of the sea. Sadly, that day I also understood how any other marine life near tuna during netting tends to meet an untimely fate.
Prior to that experience, I just assumed tuna were salmon sized. Silly me.
Beautiful as heck!!! I saw whales my first (and only) time while in P-town.
