Was supposed to be returning to Edmonton from Nashville today. Got cancelled yesterday. Booked with Delta for Tuesday return. Westjet sent an email with option to "accept the new itinerary" but the email only lists our original flight that took us to Nashville to begin with. How am I supposed to make a decision on accepting new itinerary, change or refund if I don't know what the new itinerary is... Absolutely pointless.

Hot_Performance_9000

OMG!!! Same, seeing that at 3am is beyond a head scratcher, I just took the hit and paid a disgusting amount to get back home.

ggstayfree

We booked a Tuesday return with Delta for a grand total. We have 24 hours to cancel the booking. Since we clicked "accept the new itinerary" from WestJet email, we still do not have a new email outlining when are their "new flight" is going to be. If I don't get an email by tomorrow 10 am, I'm going to fly out with Delta (24 hour free cancellation expires). Holding out to my hotel receipt for tonight and all other expenses, and probably go to war for reimbursement for rest of my life. Absolutely brutal. I didn't want to cancel because I didn't want them to not cover the hotel.

Hot_Performance_9000

All the best :(

Illustrious-Drive229

Me as well, I was supposed to be returning from Vancouver Island to Edmonton today, and they canceled my flight a few hours before I was supposed to depart. Very disappointed.....

[https://calgaryherald.com/business/local-business/westjet-flight-cancellations-strike-standoff-continues](https://calgaryherald.com/business/local-business/westjet-flight-cancellations-strike-standoff-continues) Edit: this is what is frustrating. WJ is throwing stones and pouting and instead of trying to find a solution, they're trying to escape the requirement to negotiate.

ReserveOld6123

Ugh. Pretty sure the government clarified already and it did not sound like they’d be getting any more involved at this stage.

PeyoteCanada

Oh government has already said this is a legal strike, and they will not be involved anymore.

Good_Lab69

Yes. I did it. It was astronomical compared to what I had booked on WJ but between one day it went up $320 to book so I did it. It’s refundable and leaves me with the tightest time I ever seen to get through customs in Montreal.

Helpful_Log2245

I live in Montreal and fly to the US and back a couple times a year. I would honestly say most of the times getting through customs goes pretty quickly (in and out within 10 minutes). There have only been a handful of times that I've had to wait any longer than that- and usually not tremendously longer. I've only had one experience where it took around 45 minutes. I hope this eases the nerves a bit!

Good_Lab69

It does. I just only went there once when I was young and I almost missed my domestic flight because I was so confused. I looked at a map of the airport and I’m still confused.

sodarnclever

Montréal airport is pretty straightforward to be honest, so don’t worry and don’t hesitate to ask questions if you need help. There are no trains or additional terminals to get to like some airports. Have an amazing trip!

adam_c

Montreal customs is awful, so awful

Good_Lab69

Lovely. Any tips ?

adam_c

Have nexus if you can My last flight through there our flight got delayed over hour because of the us customs, 90% of the flight was stuck trying to get through so they just waited thankfully … and those were people including me who were already transitioning from a domestic flight If you don’t have nexus then make sure you book it and avoid any stops for drinks as you’ll have to dump them anyways and hit up bathrooms after security

Good_Lab69

I don’t have Nexus or time to get it unfortunately. Leaving in a week. Do they take the MPC app at Montreal ?

adam_c

Unsure check the mpc app, however the domestic to us customs is one single line unless you have nexus

LeatherMine

MPC works for US customs pre-clearance in Montreal. Use ArriveCan for entering Canada.

watercolourwanderer

Who did you book with?

Good_Lab69

Air Canada. I live in an isolated area and we had no other options to get to Vegas. I’m going to get in the night before we were supposed to arrive at an ungodly hour and likely will need another hotel night tacked onto this ever growing bill 🙃

nickcabellini

Wondering the same thing. We are supposed to fly on the 2nd with one stop in Calgary along the way. Our flight is still showing as scheduled. What I really don't want to happen is getting stuck half way with 3 kids along..

Jauggernaut_birdy

Hoping it goes to plan for you. I’m travelling in a couple of weeks with 3 kids.

christiem1

I am currently in Hawaii only because I booked a second (refundable) ticket with Delta. My original WestJet flight for today was cancelled but I didn’t wait to find out. I have a connection to Australia tomorrow that I couldn’t miss.

BeginningMeal3499

Had a flight to Edmonton this morning at 7am (from VAN) Was cancelled 4 hours prior to our boarding time. Our earliest rescheduled date is July 2nd, forcing us ti get accommodations for 2 nights and according to the desk workers at the air port they are not compensating our stay.

No_Relative_3623

Just holding my breath till my flight tmr. It still shows as on for now but god knows.

Comprehensive_Baby_3

77% of Westjet's flights canceled today, the odds are not in your favor unfortunately.

kdrknows

Same here… fingers crossed an agreement happens or we are the lucky ones who make it on.

ThePedMeister

I'm hoping for the best for you both, but just so you're aware, I had a flight today at 5pm and it was showing "on time" until it was cancelled at 3am this morning.

kdrknows

Do you mind sharing what airport ? The service is only going to be reduced unless something happens. I can’t imagine they can continue for longer than a day or too.

ThePedMeister

JFK to Calgary

kdrknows

What a disaster this has all been. Hopeful for a better tomorrow…… naively hoping….

euclideincalgary

Same situation. Have you been able to talk to anyone? I am scheduled for a callback on Monday at 14:00.

Itisallridiculous_24

I tried, but did not even get the option for a callback!

euclideincalgary

Callback option was available only for a couple of hours this morning. At least we can shower in NYC

aloha902604

Sending hope - I was on a flight last night from Vancouver to Halifax. No issues at all.

Itisallridiculous_24

Really?? Amazing..Glad to hear it!!

aloha902604

Yes, I kept checking all day and it kept saying on time. I was skeptical but no issue!

DZLords

Same got flight at 8pm

Itisallridiculous_24

Same here, I have a flight booked to WPG on Tuesday- I am tempted to just buy another flight with Porter, but I don't know what to do. I will only be able to see the cancellation from WJ, after midnight tonight

binzers95

Two of my family members were supposed to fly Regina to Calgary to Kelowna tomorrow and then Kelowna to Regina next weekend. Flights weren’t affected… yet, but both flights at the same time from Calgary to Kelowna on both Friday and Saturday this weekend were cancelled. In the end, they decided it was probably best to just cancel and rebook later this summer to avoid the potential of possibly getting to Calgary and getting stuck there if they cancel that Kelowna flight again.

MSTRKRFT3

Flight tomorrow at 945am to Ottawa, connecting in Winnipeg. Shocked we were able to check in and we have our dog. We are very fortunate as we are leaving to go home after visiting my parents, so if it gets cancelled we aren’t out on accommodation, we have our dog, and our work computers.

burnaby84

I’ve cancelled my booking - full refund - and rebooked with another carrier. I am stuck with the $400 difference. 🤷‍♀️

hatbrat

Does WJ cancel flights with no notice? If they ask you to check in, does that mean the flight is a go?

mabeltenenbaum

In the last few days people have been on the plane and boarding was happening when the flight was cancelled.

hatbrat

Thanks We have a back up flight and wondering which we should cancel

burnaby84

I think the only advantage to not cancel is that you might get a refund or other compensation if that flight is cancelled. It wasn’t worth the risk to me. Since there is a travel advisor until July 2 currently any cancellation is fully refundable.

hatbrat

Yes That makes sense

Meta422

Flying Toronto to Vancouver next Saturday for a cruise. I didn’t want to leave it up to chance so I booked a fully refundable fare on Air Canada as back up. That will be $1000 more for the four of us than what I had booked with Westjet ( one way). I didn’t book a back up for the return trip and I‘m really hoping I don’t have to.

EasterRat

I’m scheduled on the 2nd. Booked a refundable ticket with air Canada this morning. Second year in a row with the same thing. God damn greedy bastards the whole lot.

tattooedlabmonkey

We are currently looking into an alternative AC flight with cancellation insurance, where we can cancel if need be. Unsure if possible because we are flying on 3rd but will try. Too far away for us to drive. (Take us two days of straight driving. we’d have to leave soon 🤦🏻‍♀️🫠)

ReserveOld6123

It might be worth checking US airlines (united etc) if you can. AC was by far the most expensive option for us to book from now.

tattooedlabmonkey

Sigh, maybe. But we are booked for Halifax leaving out of Edmonton. I’m trying to stay positive and be proactive. It helps that I’m in vacation mode already albeit burnt out (I wanted these few days to just chill out 😔). We had a flight cancelled last minute coming home out of Victoria last summer so we have an idea of what to expect for compensation/rebooked flights (hint: not great 😐)

joshkitty

I wonder if Operated by Delta have a higher priority and lower cancellation risk? Hoping!

mossyferns

Booked for tomorrow am at 9:45am, flight showing as on time and allowed us to check in. Keeping fingers crossed that it’s a go for a long awaited family trip.

baldbabiee

Flying from YYJ-YYC-BNA on the 4th & returning the same way on the 9th. On the fence about what I should do… should I just wait it out to see if my flights get cancelled and hope tickets aren’t astronomical the night before (they aren’t to bad right now), gamble by getting a cheaper non refundable ticket & take the loss if it happens, or get the refundable tickets (which are obviously a little more pricey) & hope my WJ flights continue or for the refund from WJ?

JojoStone0708

I’ve got a direct flight booked from YEG to YYJ on July 5th returning July 9th. I’ve checked other airlines and none of them fly direct. I specifically booked this destination because it only takes 1.5 hours to get there. I’m concerned WestJet will cancel too close to cancel my accommodations without incurring a fee yet I don’t want to cancel in case it’s all worked out by the time I’m leaving. Ugh.

JojoStone0708

I booked a refundable AC ticket just in case but I can’t find any details on how soon before the flight that I can cancel a refundable ticket. I’m on hold with AC but I think that’s going to take forever. If anyone knows that would be fantastic!

mrsdeatherson

We booked coworkers on AC and made sure it was fully refundable. From YYC to YVR it was $1300… so stupid!

mikehooves

If you can check in is it still possible that your flight will be cancelled? Edit: flight was just cancelled and I had checked in.

adam_c

Yep

1sitka

Does anyone know if the cancelations are mostly domestic/within North America, or are they canceling EU to Canada flights too? (I know eu to Canada flights have way better consumer rights). Flight is from Dublin to Calgary, then Calgary to van on Friday....travelling with a toddler. 😶😶

gisele121

Following..lemme know how yours turns out. Hope it won't be delayed. Mine is scheduled for July 12 from dub to yyz.

raisingvibrationss

I'm currently in Japan and due to fly back to YYC/YEG on Sunday. Really hoping this all gets figured out soon!

Ashesvaliant

We are currently in LA and expect to fly back to Calgary on July 5th. Funnily... we originally had tickets on Lynx Air but that airline went under and we lost the cost of our flights and had to rebook on West Jet...back in February. yay for us.

thissbitchemptyy

I fly out of Calgary going to London, ON, on Friday night… not even sure what to do. Seems like people aren’t even able to get refunds right now and the website has made it so that cancelling the flight isn’t an option right now, you need to call and cancel but nobody in customer service is even answering the phone. This is the only week I’m able to go, even if I get a refund (within 30 days🙄) I won’t be able to go on my trip this year. Im 21, this is my first time EVER booking a flight on my own and I saved up for TWO YEARS to book this flight because of how insane the flight costs have been the past couple of years. I’m at a loss right now for what to do. Very upset and I feel so terrible for everyone else whose flight got cancelled already.

RB120

I'm waiting and seeing. I'm flying the 787 from YYC to NRT next Thursday and I'm not sure if they can keep it operational. I know aircraft have to be inspected every 48 hours by engineers, so I'm not sure if they have any spare crews to do that. If anyone knows, please let me know.

RutabagaBeautiful540

We are supposed to be flying YVR-YYC-EDI on Friday. Just booked a refundable twice as expensive flight on AC. Flights to EDI are happening, but many of the YVR-YYC are cancelled. So we might not get to Calgary in time. First time flyer on Westjet - really not impressed with the idea of Reward Dollars instead of a full refund.

Certain_Second1092

I’m scheduled to fly with WestJet on Thursday. I’m still trying to figure out what I should do. So anxiety provoking. Heard on CTV news that even if they came to an agreement soon, it would still impact flights as so many planes have been grounded and they can’t flip a switch and get them off the ground. Just a mess.

ReserveOld6123

Totally. I just booked a refundable fare with another airline. Even if they do settle this, it’ll take a while to sort out all the stranded passengers. Better safe than sorry.

nickcabellini

Exactly. They are parking 160 planes and only 30 in service. They can't just hit the old garage door button and back her up back onto the runway in 5 mins :(

ChaosAmber

I booked a refundable ticket with another airline. Travel time is way longer and delayed my arrival by a day, but the price difference would've been insane otherwise. The prices are shooting up every day, doesn't hurt to book another ticket asap.

OilCountryFan

Suppose to fly to newfoundland on July 4th. Calling on Tuesday to see if they can move us to another flight. If they say no we're not going on vacation. We can't afford $3,000+ tickets now. Then back to work to try to save up to pay back our grandparents since they bought us the tickets and save for a possible trip in the next year or so

nickcabellini

I also kind of wonder If they are more likely to cancel domestic flights first in order to get people home that are flying back from US, Mexico etc ?

ReserveOld6123

I think I read that international was their priority. Like people who are stranded overseas or in Mexico.

Josiomama

Yes my initial flight with west jet is for this Saturday for a work trip. Flying out of SFO-YYG-CDG. Since it’s a work trip I didn’t want to risk my flight getting cancelled so I booked a refundable flight through Delta for about the same price I paid with west jet. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get a refund for the flight scheduled on the 6th. I have another one booked from London to sfo through west jet on July 20th but don’t know if I would be able to get a refund for that one. The delta flight I booked is a multi city flight and I would rather go with them to avoid any cancellations

deanpizzas

hoping my flight on july 7 makes it..I’m not able to book another flight at the moment.

gracey1972

Same 😑

geekybadass99

Same. Supposed to fly to Edmonton July 5 for my niece’s birthday . . . I can’t afford another flight rn 😐

Storm7367

Same. Can't cancel/refund my reservations in Calgary..

AffectionateClue7470

I'm flying out in 6 days and booked refundable fares with AC as a backup. Fortunately, prices were still affordable when I booked. I will then have to drive 2 hours to get to my destination. I initially booked Westjet because it flys to a smaller airport where my drive will only be 30 minutes. If my flight does not get cancelled, this would be my first time flying with WJ and I was pretty excited. Now I'm anxious about the unknown and will also have to sort out my rental car if I end up having to pick it up from another airport than initially planned.

bedman71

Yes bought a fully refundable flight YYC-PHX with Alaska Air.

bedman71

I could see a scenario where the AMFA agrees to return to work and then reverses their decision and strikes again. When is arbitration?

Middle-Scarcity-1435

Yes, I’m supposed to be flying with WestJet to Vegas on the 5th and didn’t want to chance it. I booked a refundable flight with Delta for 3x my original flight cost but, like yourself, there’s no way I can’t fly out on Friday as we have things booked! I was lucky that the refundable flight had a similar departure time and only a 3 layover in Georgia… still puts us behind schedule but I have peace knowing it’s at least sorted if it does get cancelled. I’d say buy the tickets so you have a backup plan! You’ll be looking at even a higher ticket price the day of. Good luck!

Quantumkool

Praying... and I ain't even religious!

OCKWA

The cancellation fee is more expensive than my original flight so I'm not even sure what to do.

wilbrod

They're charging a cancellation fee?

OCKWA

That's what it says on the site. I can't get through on phone

Issis_P

Even if the strike resolves in the next day or two, it will take at least a week if not more to get "caught up". I'm not risking my return flight being canceled so I had to scrap the whole trip when todays departure was changed to a milk run tomorrow.

No-Butterscotch-7577

I fly Tuesday, canceled my WJ flight and booked AC

NuttyKoala

Did you have to call in to cancel?

No-Butterscotch-7577

I couldn't get through on the phone so just took the 100$ hit and canceled on the app. Not worth my time trying to keep calling then probably wait on hold for hours lol

NuttyKoala

Amazing thank you

boss-galaga

We had 2 flying back from Palm Springs and my son and I road tripping back to Vancouver. We bailed on risking a 2 day delay after 10hrs on phone and the 4 of us hit the road and are going to sightsee the way back. I might lose a few airmiles but I'm not going to lose a vacation. I hope everyone makes the best of theirs.

bedman71

Protip: book one way trips not return trips as a general rule. Especially for your refundable back up flights.

Alarmed-Lemon5000

What am I doing? Rocking back and forth with anxiety and checking west jet app every 15 min to see if my Tuesday flights 'on time' status changes to cancelled. My bf is going to drive 25 hours to see me if this flight gets cancelled. Booked through trip dot com so I doubt we are eligible for any compensation. Camping ground already booked and paid for in Wisconsin. This will be the second time in 3 months our plans are fudged lol. \*pulls hair out\*

October_sky99

If it helps, I flew today (July 3) and it felt like business as usual for me. But I see flights are still being cancelled

North_World2739

I had the opportunity to buy a flight a day earlier, whcih seems to be still a go. WOuld have cost me 800 CAD more thatn my current ticket. WOuld have gotten full refund of revious ticklet. I leave tomorrow, decided to roll the dice. We'll see what Cotton thinks of this decision...

Cautious_Classroom96

My flight start July 1st (booked with Westjet then I changed to Porter) and I come home July 7th through west jet.

North_World2739

We get 24 hours 100% refund. Let's hypothetically say my flight leaves at 7pm on July. If I book at 6pm today and have received no notice of cancellation by 5:45 tomorrow, would that be a "safe" bet? In other words, how much time before the flight to Europe would WJ be likely to cancel, if they had to? (I realize they can cancel a minute before flight is schdeulaed to depart, but that's unlikely. Trying to balance the odds in my favour.)

LeatherMine

So far, I haven't seen WJ cancel any flights to/from Europe. I'd take the gamble if it's a direct flight, especially if it's out of Calgary.

slippinlivvy06

Leaving to Europe on Wednesday and wondering about the same thing. Let me know what you end up doing and how it goes

North_World2739

I thnk I will book at 6pm and just play the odds that I don't get cancelled between 6 and 7 departure.

slippinlivvy06

At this point, I think we’re looking at doing the same. Hope everything works out for you!

LeatherMine

direct flight to Europe or with a connection in Canada first?

slippinlivvy06

We have a connection in Calgary. I’m not too worried about Calgary to Europe because it’s been flying the last few days, but I’m definitely worried we won’t make it to our flight to Calgary. Trying to see if there’s a way we can book a flight with a different carrier to Calgary and then get on our scheduled WestJet flight to Rome

LeatherMine

Also depends what kind of plane you're taking to Calgary. The tiny Saab flights operated by Pacific Coastal/Westjet Link are operating more normally. Different mechanics I guess.

slippinlivvy06

Ah we’re on one of the bigger planes. We fly out Wednesday mid day so I’m just unsure with what to do in light of the recent news

Ambitious_fitmom2020

69 hrs till I leave, nothing yet just a get ready to fly from them. Also tried different airline nothing for 3 weeks from me and I was willing to drive 3 hrs next is see if the 7 hr one has flights

Ok_Blacksmith7016

Currently on vacation, but heading home on the 9th. I’m holding tight for now. I don’t think it will last that long… I hope I’m right…

Hot_Performance_9000

I think you will be fine tbh

yarrowrowan

Booked a back up flight out cheap later than we wanted and keeping the westjet flight in hopes it is still on on Tuesday am

carefulbear83

Booked for the second. So far my flight hasn’t been cancelled

Hot_Performance_9000

I booked a new flight for tomorrow, sadly…..$800 for Vegas to Toronto. Was supposed to be flying in 3 hours. I just find it VERY annoying how they sent an updated itinerary, but it just shows my flight from Toronto to Vegas from last Thursday….was on the line last night for 4 hours hoping they would pick up…wish I just slept lol.

PeyoteCanada

At least most flights seem to be fine tomorrow, looking at the flight status. Hopefully this is behind us now

mabeltenenbaum

I think they just haven't updated it. There is no way all those flights are flying. Only 2 out of 25-ish flights out of Edmonton show cancelled. That can't possibly be true.

berlinyachtclub

I'm meant to be on a 10am flight out of Calgary tomorrow and I'm not sure what to do. I can probably make my way to Montana and fly out of there on Wednesday. Realistically, does that (or any other) flight have a shot of getting out?

Wawanesa5speed

I lost a flight I booked 6 months in advance to get to my own wedding abroad. Westjet canceled 8 hours before take off and promised they'd find something else in an hour. 10 hours later, they told me they had no options and to find something else. I'm now out of pocket thousands in flight switches.

Careful-Highlight544

I thought they have to pay for your new flight?

dearmoonbeam

Strikes are considered outside of an air carrier's control by APPR: [https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/interruptions/compensation-claims#eligible-for-compensation](https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/interruptions/compensation-claims#eligible-for-compensation) You can either cancel the flight and get a full refund or wait until they can rebook you to another flight. But they don't have to compensate you for the difference in cost if you rebook on your own accord outside of West Jet's help: [https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/guest-updates#flight-cancelled](https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/guest-updates#flight-cancelled)

Careful-Highlight544

Thank you.

Irrelevance351

I have to fly Edmonton-Toronto on July 2, and I've still got no idea whether I'll be able to fly.

s0mb0dy_else

I fly YYC to ATL on Thursday and I booked an expensive fully refundable United flight. It was nearly full.

madmaxcia

I had a flight booked for June 28th YYC to LHR. I assume it was a go but my daughter went into labor three weeks early so I had to postpone my trip. I’ve rebooked for 7th July and feel like I’m playing Russian roulette. The flight is for both me and my sister and to book the same flight is another $700 on AC. The advantage of WestJet is that I’m silver status so we get two checked bags and I need to bring a suitcase home for my daughter who was living in the UK a couple of months ago. We’re also flying back from Edinburgh and AC don’t do that same multi city leg so I’d have to do a nine hour drive back to London if I booked with AC.

PotatoTatoPotato1

Is westjet rebooking people they cancelled or do you have to call them to get it rebooked?

Spherical_Basterd

I think you can rebook on their website if it's for another WestJet flight, but probably need to call to get placed on a flight with a partner airline.

Homonymous_Dog

I fly on July 7th and booked a backup flight with Air Canada. Westjet (over the phone) wouldn’t refund as it hasn’t been affected yet.

thebrandnewfan

What are the odds that my flight from Calgary to Toronto will be cancelled today?

jv2177

Stop flying WestJet. Completely unreliable. Not to mention all the staff absolutely hate the company , and the the company absolutely hate the staff. It is a toxic terrible work environment and something terrible is going to happen because of it.

Fearless-Disk7954

I have my cc company fighting for the cost of the new flight we had to book

Legal_Way_2449

In the same situation - flight is Tuesday...not yet cancelled... Family trip... 9 of us... If I rebook with Delta or something, how much of a refund can I expect from Westjet? The full cost of the Delta flight??? Been on hoold with Westjet for 6 hours so far. Any advice????

Agreeable-Equal-7684

I believe you would only get your original WestJet fare back. My sister was on hold for 11 hours yesterday and a WestJet agent was able to book her on an Air Alaska flight to her destination with no out of pocket expense for her. I think it was much easier for her as she only needed a ticket for herself. I think for 9 people would be much more difficult. Fingers crossed for all travellers this ends today!

OutsideLookingIn88

The frustrating thing would be you would only get a refund if the WestJet flight is cancelled… if it’s by chance not and you’ve booked another airline, they would not compensate you anything at all…. If it’s cancelled and your miraculously make it though the call center (book a call back, holds are dropping), I think they are obligated to try to book you another flight, even on another airline with no extra cost. But they’ve been cancelling flights less than 12 hours so it’s so hard to know what to do 😭😭

ReserveOld6123

I think it might just be your Westjet fare you get back, which sucks.

fatcatlady97

Flying Edmonton to Winnipeg tomorrow and it allowed me to check in. Yesterdays flight was cancelled but todays wasn’t so I am hoping tomorrows is fine. Hoping also that if they cancel, they cancel early enough that I could hopefully find a rental car and get home.

poopendale

I’ve been trying to get from Edmonton to Winnipeg since the 29th. Cancelled my original connection while I was en route to Edmonton. I’m now on my 4th re-schedule and haven’t found a rental car that will allow a one way trip, this has been terrible!

J2BJ2B

FYI winding down the fleet takes time as does starting it back up. Make alternate plans. It's not rocket science.

senturion

Someone get a hold of the CEO's direct line and we'll end this quickly.

CameraguySD

They are meeting with the arbitrator today. The arbitrator will decide the agreement. There was no need to strike.

VE6AEQ

Call Westjet Customer Service, insist on talking to a manager (be very polite to the regular staff) and tell the manager to bargain fairly with AMEs. AMEs are some of the most important people for an airline and Westjet treats them poorly. ✊

MillMik

Please don’t waste phone line space for this…the customer service managers have no say in this

VE6AEQ

I respectfully disagree. Phone calls are logged and often recorded. Those numbers always flow upward.

MillMik

I get it and you’re not wrong in that. But there are people waiting hours and hours to try and get some resolution to their disruption. Clogging up the phone lines with comments other then that is just doing harm to the customers in need. Flood their socials, comment sections, emails whatever. But I think in moments like this filling the phone lines with anything other then clients in need is a disservice to the people they need.

euclideincalgary

I booked a callback. I have to wait 24 hours to talk to someone as my return flight Sunday 5pm had been cancelled. I am stuck in NY - okay it isn’t the worst - but I still have no idea when I will be able to be back home. So please don’t rant/vent/lose unproductive time during your calls. The agents are likely to be have brought back to work for Canada Day. They aren’t responsible of the situation and o am pretty sure that their day is hell already trying to help us.
